Objectives and Approach of the Journal

The Journal of Innovation in Food Science and Technology is published quarterly with the aim of publishing the results of scientific research by researchers in the country and facilitating access to scientific resources for students, professors, specialists and researchers. The articles of this journal cover all branches related to the food industry, including science, technology, packaging and engineering of food materials and products. The journal focuses specifically on applied and innovative research that aims to improve product quality, increase shelf life and improve the efficiency of the process of fresh food and processed products. Other topics related to food industry sciences such as nutrition, food hygiene, chemistry and food biotechnology are also covered by the journal.

    Article Writing Method

Covering Letter: The full title of the article, the name and surname of the author(s), academic degree, name of the university or institution, name of the faculty, department or group, city, e-mail and telephone number should be mentioned. This page must be signed by all authors of the article. The person who is responsible for writing, preparing the content of the article and corresponding with the journal is called the main author or the corresponding author. The title page does not need to be numbered. The different parts of the article, including the title, abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgements, references and the Latin abstract, should be presented in order. The main sections, including introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgements and references, should be numbered in order and stated as follows (subsections or subheadings should also be numbered with numbers derived from the main number):

    Title of the article

It should be written at the top of the first page, centered. It should be brief, clear and descriptive of the research topic, and should not exceed 20 words.

Mention the names and organizational addresses of the authors (Affiliation)

Below the title and before the Persian abstract, the names, surnames and addresses of the authors should be mentioned, in accordance with the standard format of the journal. In articles extracted from theses and dissertations, the student is considered the main author and the order of names should be as follows: student, first supervisor, second supervisor, professor or consulting professors. Titles such as doctor, engineer, etc. should not be used next to the authors' names. To indicate the address and organizational affiliation, the name of the department or group should be given first, then the name of the faculty, university or institute, and finally the name of the city and country.

    Example:

Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran.

Department of Technical and Engineering Research, Khorasan Razavi Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Center, Mashhad, Iran.

Department of Food Science and Technology, Sabzevar Branch, Islamic Azad University, Sabzevar, Iran.

In the Latin abstract, the name of the department or group should be given first, then the name of the university or institute, and finally the name of the city and country.

Note: In English articles or English abstracts of Persian articles, the phrase: Sabzevar Branch should be replaced with: Sab.C. should be used and the English affiliation should be as follows:

Department of Food Science and Technology, Sab.C., Islamic Azad University, Sabzevar, Iran.

Declaring the type of affiliation to the university (Professor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Faculty Member, Young Researchers Club Member, Master's Student) is not required, but it can be given before the university name, provided that no conjunctions are used. Abstract: The Persian abstract should not exceed 250 words and must be written in one paragraph. The abstract should be concise and include the content of the article and its most prominent results without using tables or figures and undefined abbreviations. A maximum of 5 keywords appropriate to the text should be given in order of importance on a separate line after the abstract.

    Introduction

The introduction should state the research background related to the research and justify the necessity and also state the objectives of the research presented in the article. Usually, the purpose of the research is given at the end of the introduction section and before the materials and methods. Citing sources in the text is done by giving the source number at the end of the sentence or paragraph and in parentheses (Vancouver style). If multiple sources are used, the numbers are given in order from small to large, separated by commas. In the text of the article, except for the scientific names of the genus and species (in italics), foreign words should not be used, and if necessary, the English equivalent of the word should be given by placing the page number in the footnote (Times New Roman, 10).

    Materials and Methods

In this section, the materials and equipment used, the method of sampling and conducting the experiments should be presented, citing the source, as well as the statistical design used, and the method of data processing and analysis. Avoid describing the details of measurements as much as possible. If mathematical equations are presented in the Materials and Methods section, it is necessary to define all the components of the equation exactly.

    Results and Discussion

Results and discussion should be presented together. In the Results section, the research findings are presented, and in the Discussion section, the interpretation of the results is made by citing scientific sources related to the subject. It is better to compare the results of the research with the results of other researchers. The titles of the tables should be given at the top and the titles of the figures at the bottom. These titles should fully explain the results presented in the table or figure and include all the necessary information and definitions. The titles of the figures and tables should be typed in Lotus B font, size 11 (Bold). The text of the tables should be typed in Lotus B font, size 11 (regular), and the captions of the tables should be typed in size 10. Words such as diagram, graph, map, image, and the like should be avoided, and only the word "figure" should be used. All results should be in the metric scale (SI) and numerical results should be presented in only one form (figure or table). The number of tables and figures should be proportional to the size of the article. Avoid citing tables and figures whose data are fully described in the text of the article. Photographs, charts, and drawings should be original and prepared in black and white. If a color photograph is submitted for printing, the cost of the cliché and printing is the responsibility of the author. The graphs should be clear, black and white, and without background lines, their contents should be legible, and if necessary, have units. The frame of the tables should be drawn with a thin pen in such a way that only three horizontal lines of the table (two lines at the top and one line at the bottom) are displayed (the other lines should be drawn in white).

    Conclusion

The result should be brief and descriptive of the final achievement, in other words, a general summary of the results of the research.

    Acknowledgements

If necessary, thanks and appreciation to institutions or individuals can be given before the list of references.

    References

The list of references should be prepared according to the Harvard style (Harvard: Author/Date Style). The number of references should be proportionate to the volume and nature of the article and limited as much as possible. It is better to use reliable, new and up-to-date sources as much as possible. Avoid citing unreliable sources such as anonymous websites. All sources should be referenced in the text of the article by mentioning the relevant number. Bibliographic information of the sources should be complete and should be arranged according to the standard template of the journal, which is mentioned at the end. The sources used should be listed in alphabetical order of the last name of the first author. In organizing references, first the Persian references and then the Latin ones should be numbered consecutively. If several works by the same author are cited, their order of inclusion should be from oldest to newest according to the year of publication. If individual and joint articles by the same author are presented, the individual articles should be arranged first and then the joint articles should be arranged in alphabetical order of the names of the subsequent authors. If a source has multiple authors, a maximum of six authors should be mentioned, and if the number is more than six, the words "and others" in Persian and "et al." in English should be given after the sixth author's name. The names of the authors should be separated by a comma (in English, a comma) and a space, and the word "و" in Persian or "and" in English should be used before writing the name of the last author. When writing the title of an article or book in Latin, only the first letter of the first word of the title should be written in capital letters, and the title of the journal or book should be typed in italics.
