This research aimed to examine the relationship between thinking and problem-solving styles with marital satisfaction in women who experienced spousal emotional and cultural abuse. The statistical population of the study consisted of all women who had experienced spousal emotional and cultural abuse in Yazd city. Among them, 150 individuals were selected as the sample using purposive sampling method. The research was designed as a descriptive correlational. To collect data, the Enrich Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire (Fowers & Olson, 1989), Thinking Styles Questionnaire (Sternberg and Wagner, 1991), and Problem-Solving Styles Questionnaire (Cassidy and Long, 1996) were implemented. The data were analyzed by applying Pearson correlation coefficient and simultaneous multiple regression as main statistical procedure. The results indicated a significant positive relationship between marital satisfaction, legislative thinking, executive thinking, hierarchical thinking, anarchic thinking, local thinking, introvert thinking, extrovert thinking and effective problem-solving styles. The results also revealed that marital satisfaction was significantly and negatively correlated with judicial thinking, monarchic thinking and inefficient problem solving styles. And that there was not existed a significant correlation between monarchic thinking, global thinking, liberal thinking, conservative thinking styles and marital satisfaction. The findings also showed that legislative thinking, hierarchical thinking, local thinking, introvert thinking, effective and inefficient problem-solving styles predicated 56.9 percent of the marital satisfaction variance (p<0.001). Other variables were not able to predict the marital satisfaction. Therefore, some of the thinking styles and problem solving styles in women who experienced spousal emotional and cultural misbehaviors could improve marital satisfaction by taking advantage of proper social and cultural contexts. AbstractIntroduction: Marriage is one of the most important factors of mental health in society. The purpose of the present study was to predict the marital satisfaction of adolescents based on resilience and emotion regulation with the mediating role of early maladaptive schemas. Method: The method of the current research was applied, descriptive and correlational (structural equations type). The statistical population of the present study was made up of all married women who referred to the counseling centers of the Family Foundation Consolidation with an Islamic lifestyle approach in Tehran in 2021. By calculating the overestimation due to predicting the dropout of the subjects, the final sample size was 401 people, which according to the extent of the studied population, a non-random and available method was used. Olson's ENRICH Marital Satisfaction Scale (1989), Young & Brown's Young Schema Questionnaire-Short Form (1990), Garnefski et al.'s Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (2002), and Connor & Davidson's Conner-Davidson Resilience Scale (2003) were used to collect data. Then the resulting data were analyzed using path analysis method by AMOS-18 software. Results: The results indicated that resilience was able to predict marital satisfaction indirectly through schemas of impaired limitations 0.04, other-directedness 0.03 and alertness and inhibition 0.03. Also, compromised emotion regulation 0.35 and uncompromised emotion regulation -0.37, both directly and indirectly and through the schemas of impaired limitations -0.34, other-directedness 0.53, and alertness and inhibition 0.65 were able to predict marital satisfaction (p<0.001). Conclusion: Therefore, the variables of resilience, emotion regulation and early maladaptive schemas can play an important role in marital satisfaction and the need to pay attention to these important variables in divorce prevention programs should be considered. Manuscript profile

The aim of this study was to develop a causal model of positive marital outcomes based on marital characteristics mediated by emotional expression and sexual intimacy in married female primary school teachers in Kermanshah in 2022. The present research is applied in terms of purpose and correlation and structural equations in terms of data collection method. The statistical population of the present study consists of all married female primary school teachers in Kermanshah in 2022. To select the sample size based on Cochran's formula from Kermanshah primary schools, 35 schools were selected by multi-stage cluster random sampling and then 250 teachers were selected from these schools and given the Spinner (1976) Marital Adjustment Questionnaire, Nathan Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire. Et al. (1973) answered emotional expression and sexual intimacy using the Enrich Questionnaire, Marital Instability Index (MII) and the Marissa Characteristics Questionnaire by Chrisma Rosen-Grandon (1998). The results showed that the direct effect of marital characteristics on positive marital outcomes was 0.395 and also the indirect effect of this variable on positive marital outcomes through emotional expression and sexual intimacy variables was 0.149 and 0.167, respectively, which was at the 95th level of confidence. Percentages are significant. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between independent variables with mediating and dependent variables of research. Thus, emotional expression and sexual intimacy act as mediators of the relationship between positive marital outcomes based on marital characteristics, and in marital interventions, family counselors can be the target of therapy. The Covid 19 pandemic has had many economic and social consequences, but the lower groups tended to suffer the most in terms of class, gender, ethnicity and race. This study attempts to show the different aspects of the impact of the Corona crisis on women's quality of life. The hypothetical basis of the research is the theoretical literature on quality of life, social support, gender inequality and role system. The research hypotheses were tested using standard questionnaires of quality of life, Enrich's marital satisfaction, Phillips social support, and a researcher-made questionnaire on role weighting and social distance. The research data were collected by survey method and an electronic questionnaire available with the participation of 397 married women in Tehran and analyzed by Spss and Amos software. The results show that the Corona epidemic does not change the lives of men and women in the same way, and women are usually more vulnerable to the consequences of the virus. Women have the opportunity to enjoy a higher quality of life in the face of Corona through factors such as benefiting from the social support network, marital satisfaction, and presence in virtual social networks, despite the stress and pressure caused by the role. Among the couples referring to family counseling centers, 30 patients were selected using the available sampling method in two experimental and control groups (15 subjects in each group and 15 in the control group). The instruments used in this study were emotional regulation questionnaire by Garnovsky et al. (2002) and Olson's marital satisfaction (1989). The results of this study showed that effective communication skills with the spouses increased the adjustment of emotional regulation. Effective communication skills with spouses have reduced the level of emotional regulation that is incompatible. Effective communication skills with husbands have increased marital satisfaction. Research on the relationship between marital satisfaction and cognitive distortions has overlooked the role of deterministic thinking. This study aimed to predict marital satisfaction through deterministic thinking. The Deterministic Thinking Questionnaire (Younesi & Mirafzal, 2007) and the short persian version of Marital Satisfaction Inventory (Asgari & Bahmani, 2006) were administered to 300 couples in Tehran who averaged 36 years of age and had been married for 11 years. Results showed a negative correlation between deterministic thinking and marital satisfaction. The four sub-scales of Deterministic Thinking Questionnaire (interaction with others, absolute thinking, prediction of future, and negative events) predicted 14% of the variance in marital satisfaction. Implications are discussed for couple therapy and premarital counseling. Manuscript profile

This study aimed to determine fitness of the structural model of the relationship between self-efficacy in romantic relationship and marital satisfaction with regard to the mediating role of relationship maintenance behaviors. The research design was correlational study-structural equation modeling. 200 married-female teachers among elementary schools were selected using multi-stage random sampling method from regions 1 and 3 of Ahvaz city, and responded to the Self-efficacy in Romantic Relationships Scale (Riggio, Weiser, Valenzuela, Lui, Montes, & Heuer, 2011) Relational Maintenance Strategy Measure (Canary, & Stafford, 1992), and Marital Satisfaction Scale (Rajabi, 2010). The data were analyzed using structural equations modeling. The results showed that all of the model fitness indices were appropriate. The path coefficients of self-efficacy in romantic relationship to relationship maintenance strategies and the relationship maintenance strategies to marital satisfaction were significant. But the path of self-efficacy in romantic relationship to marital satisfaction was not significant. Also, relationship maintenance strategies had a mediation role in the relationship between self-efficacy in romantic relationship and marital satisfaction. The aim of this study was to develop a structural model of Alexithymia in relation to emotional distress and interpersonal forgiveness with a mediating role of marital dissatisfaction in women referred to family counseling centers. The present study was a correlation with the structural equation model approach. From the statistical population of women referring to psychological clinics and counseling centers, 440 people were selected as a sample using a cluster random method. Guttman (1994) Alexithymia Scale, Bagby et al. (1994) Emotional Dysfunction, Pollard et al. (1998) and Enrich (1989) Marital Satisfaction Scale were used to collect data. Structural equation model was used to analyze the data. The results showed that all the indicators of model fit with the data have acceptable values. Emotional malaise (p≤0.01 and t = 4.773) directly and interpersonal forgiveness (p≤0.01 and t = 8.06) and marital satisfaction (p≤0.01 and t = 9.30) Inversely and meaningfully, it can predict emotional divorce. The results of the bootstrap test also showed that marital satisfaction has a significant mediating role in the relationship between emotional malaise and interpersonal forgiveness with emotional divorce. In general, it can be said that reducing the Alexithymia of women should pay attention to the components of emotional distress and marital dissatisfaction as accelerating factors of Alexithymia and the component of interpersonal forgiveness as a factor that reduces Alexithymia between couples.
