Christopher Alexander in his scientific records displays two distinctive thinking trends. It is obvious that he would not reject his previous ideas in the context of design, but also he improving them to a better level, in such a way we could say all Alexander's work are parts of a comprehensive science.        Alexander's design theories were primary founded on Cartesian rationalism. He had chosen the following method for solving design complications: Dividing them into components and solving each component separately until the ultimate solution is arrived it. After that Alexander entered an entirely different method, he has focusing on a wholeness approach. At present time, his attention is mainly directed towards experimental dimensions of design process. In this paper we will try to assess Christopher Alexander theories of design extracted from his works titled notes on synthesis of form and a pattern language to the nature of order. This article is indeed investigated ways of utilizing the design patterns which Christopher Alexander considers as a basis for understanding living spaces and future cities. Furthermore, his limitations in creation of design patterns and ways of using such patterns in order to achieve a living quality in the design of physical environment are examined. This article is made to analysis Alexander's Theories in four phases. Manuscript profile

Functionalism approach is a tool to transfer meaning in order to make relationship between society’s individuals. From theorists’ viewpoint Micheal Halliday could be pointed out whose ideas are based on lingual elements rather than their appearance. Structure of Holy Quran is such that it can be analyzed from different angles, including the role-oriented approach. Therefore, the present study of Surah Al-Malik, based on Halliday's theoryExamined. This research, by descriptive-analytical method, has analyzed all kinds of processes, initiators and textual coherence in Surah Malik. The results of the research indicate that in the role of thought, the material process is the most used process in the text that God has tried to realize the power and knowledge of man by describing the amazing system of creation. The simple primer is the dominant primer used in this surah, and most of the verses also have a primer between them. Among the compound primers, the intertextual primer has the highest frequency in this Surah. One of the issues that has always been raised and challenged about Hafez's poetry has been the issue of semantic connection among the verses of Hafez's sonnets. Some proponents of the existence of coherence and semantic connection in the structure of Hafez's sonnets believe that the verses of the sonnets may seem discrete at first glance; But they have a coherent and central core with which the other verses of a sonnet have a semantic connection. In contrast، some believe that the verses in a sonnet are independent of each other and each verse has an independent meaning and interpretation. Therefore، the purpose of this article is to examine the semantic connection in five memorable sonnets that have been randomly selected to be a handful of good examples. Therefore، the analysis of this issue is descriptive-analytical and in a library style، which after examining these lyric poems، we finally came to the conclusion that Hafez lyric poems have semantic coherence and this coherence and connection through existence of the  central core in poetry is having a common semantic fit and theme in all the verses of a sonnet، as well as the variety of sonnets and the repetition of words in the poem. De Beaugrande and Dressler in describing positive factors or the features manifesting sum of the sentences as a text point to seven factors of which two factors of meaning coherence and continuity are important in textuality. Connection in semantic level or deep structure is achieved through different Factors, that the causality factor can be the most important of them; Because it is depended to the relationships  of text propositions from causative considerations. Causality in addition to the other coherence factors makes higher level structures with the chains of strong relations between small units. The function of these elements are naturally different in in frequency and importance from text to text. the present article investigates important factor of semantic connection, i.e., causality, in a contemporary story, and studies how much enjoys a contemporary narrative text from this factor as well as how it functions through a descriptive- analytic method and an statistical   approach. The analysis of frequency shows that causal factor is not  so frequent  in parts of the story that contains descriptive pauses. Coherence means the lexical or structural relations of the text, or in other words, the intra-textual mechanism of the language that helps the author to create and communicate in each sentence or between sentences. In this research, the author is trying to investigate and analyze the travelogue of Nasser Khosrow Qabadiani in a descriptive-analytical way and library tools using Halliday and Hassan's theory of coherence in constructivist linguistics. According to Halliday and Hassan's theory, cohesion is one of the main characteristics of a text that is created by elements in the text, and these elements include three parts: lexical, grammatical, and linking, which play a role in the relationship between sentence components. In this article, the elements and methods of creating coherence in the text of Nasser Khosrow's travelogue have been studied and analyzed. The result of the research indicates that considering that Nasser Khosrow's travelogue contains material in the geographical, economic, social and political fields; It is a coherent, uniform and integrated text, and a number of elements and ways of integrating the text play a very important role in creating its coherence. Also, the elements of cohesion play a great role in its attractiveness, understanding and impact on the reader, which convinces the reader. In this way, prose and prose texts are distinguished from each other based on the language and content and the method of using the elements of coherence, and they are valued and graded in terms of the extent of the use of coherence.          Shamsuddin Mohammad Kosaj, one of the poets of the 8th century, is the author of the old Borzoonameh. In this article, the elements of text coherence in the ancient Borzoonameh system have been investigated based on Halliday and Hassan's theory. The descriptive-analytical research method and the research data were obtained through the use of library resources and note-taking. The scope and community under study is the ancient part of Borzoonameh, by "Shamsuddin Mohammad Kosaj" with correction and research by Akbar Nahawi. The first part of the poem is an epic story in every sense of the word, which was very well received and noticed by people in the past. But among Iranian researchers and orientalists, it was not known as it should and maybe, and there were more contradictory words about it than other epic poems. The old part of Borzoonameh book has been more successful among other poems written in imitation of Shahnameh, so that part of it has been included in a copy of Shahnameh since time immemorial. Simple and popular plot, fluent language and free of difficult to express and novel arrays, immediacy of story situations, epic and entertaining texture, etc. have caused this story to remain in people's thoughts more than other national and historical epics after the Shahnameh. to stay By examining the elements of text coherence in Borzoonameh, it is possible to consider Shamsuddin Mohammad Kosaj as one of the most beautiful composers of the 8th century following the epic poets of the past, and his success in reflecting their intellectual, linguistic and literary structure in his poems can be confirmed. The main question of this study attempted to answer was whether teaching Lado’s concepts of culture might enhance higher ability of description writing in Iranian learners of English at university level. To answer this question, 60 sophomore undergraduate translator trainees were selected via administrating the Oxford Placement (OPT). Then, they were divided into two groups of 30 and were randomly assigned to an experimental and a control group. A pretest of descriptive writing was administered to both groups, after that, the experimental group was taught five categories of Lado’s cultural concepts including transportation system, educational system, sport, customs and festivals, and ritual behaviors for 10 sessions while there was no treatment of the concepts to the control group. A posttest of descriptive writing was then administered to both groups and data were analyzed via calculating an independent sample t-test and ANCOVA coefficients. The results indicated that Iranian EFL learners in the experimental group received higher scores in description writing after being treated with 10 sessions of Lado’s concepts of culture.  Manuscript profile

The Discipline of “Tanāsub al-Āyāt” was introduced as a science in the eighth century, and what is stated in the books of the Qur'anic sciences as the history of this science is focused on the works of this century and afterward in which they explicitly have mentioned the kinds of relation and connection between verses and suras. The present study aimed to answer the question that what was the reason of the proportion idea and what was the path of Muslim scholars to convert the proportion between the Quran’s verses and suras into a scientific concern? this idea is rooted in the area of the I’jāz of the Qur'an order and the concept of order from the third century. According to the commentators, the conversion of the relation between the words to the relation between the verses is the turning point of this path, which is seen in the Bāqilānī’s works. Then, in the fifth century, the introduction of a relativistic attitude to commentary books such as Sheikh Tusi's commentary, al-Tibyān, was also a ground for the knowledge proportion. Finally, in the sixth century, the intersection of the commentary science with the subject of the expressive I’jāz of the Qur'an, which was particularly raised in the interpretation of the Zamakhsharī, al-Kashāf, became the beginning of the growth and acquisition of this knowledge among commentators and scholars.          This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of the choice theory and optimism training on the sense of coherence among students. The research method was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest design and control group and follow-up for two months. 120 female students were selected by convenience sampling method and responded to Sense of Coherence Scale (Antonovsky, 1987). Then 60 students with the lowest scores of the sense of coherence were randomly assigned to 3 groups including 2 experimental groups and one control group. The students of experimental groups participated in choice theory and optimism courses in 8 sessions. All the 3 groups were evaluated by post-test at the end of the courses and after 2 months in follow-up. The results showed that both choice theory and optimism training significantly increased sense of coherence among students, but choice theory training had more effectiveness. According to the findings of this study and the importance of the sense of coherence, both choice theory and optimism courses can be useful methods to educate students, but choice theory training is recommended as a more effective method. Breast cancer is a chronic disease that it’s diagnose and treatment is accompanied with many psychological problems. Breast cancer is the most prevalent and most effective cancer in women, which causes deep emotional and affective problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the mediator role of cognitive emotion regulation strategies in the relationship between self- coherence and mental well-being in women with breast cancer. For this purpose in a descriptive-correlational research method 215 women with breast cancer who had undergone surgery at least once in Kerman in 2017 were selected through available sampling and tested with regard to the sense of coherence, cognitive emotion regulation and psychological well-being. The structural equation modeling showed that emotional regulation strategies mediate the relationship between self coherence and mental well-being through positive emotional regulation strategies. These results suggest that self coherence not only is a predictor of psychological well-being, but can also significantly influence mental well-being by the use of positive strategies of cognitive emotion regulation in women with breast cancer.
