The present study aims to contently analyze the" Life Skills" textbook of the 5th grade of primary schools, based on the principles of curriculum contents selection. It, also, provides corrective strategies expressed by the curriculum planning experts. The descriptive method is employed and the data have been gathered by means of a researcher-made questionnaire which includes 30 closed- answer questions and 3 opened-answer questions. The questioner along with the book has been given to the curriculum planning experts, who have been chosen based on the random access sampling method. What being shown from the findings is that curriculum planning experts believe that the principles of importance, validity, profitability, learning ability, students' eagerness and attention to the structure of knowledge are highly considered in selecting the contents of the very book while, principle of flexibility has, to some extent, been observed. Inductively analyzing the data by means of one-sample t-test indicates that curriculum planning experts believe that observing the principles of importance, validity, profitability, students' eagerness and attention to the structure of knowledge and learning ability are statically meaningful however, the same cannot be said for the principle of flexibility .once analyzing the opened-answer questions, curriculum planning experts came to these conclusion that: a) nine subjects should be added to the contents of the book, the most important of which is proper relationship. b) Three subjects should be omitted, mainly the subjects about sorrow, sadness and anger. C) Seven other subjects should be more emphasized on, among which problem solving has had the highest frequency. Manuscript profile

The participants in the qualitative part were specialists in Islamic education, and the sample size was obtained through the snowball method with the participation of 17 people with the theoretical saturation of information. The second statistical population was comprised of 33 curriculum specialists who were selected through the Cochran formula. The opinion of the first group was received through a deep, semi-structured interview, and then the data was summarized and analyzed in three stages of coding. In the second group, information was gathered with a researcher-made questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS software with the one-sample t method. The quantitative validity was obtained in the form of face validity, and the reliability coefficient was found using Cronbach's method. At the end, the relevant designed model was approved and validated by specialists. Findings: A desirable model of Islamic life skills curriculum content with 18 main and central categories was obtained. Conclusion: The content should be provided for every student based on all dimensions of human existence, the realities of the living environment (differences, cultural and religious conditions), in order to create and strengthen national unity, with the help of local and oral literature and in a practical way instead of merely non-functional theoretical skills and with a balanced view of this world and the hereafter, with an artistic and aesthetic approach. The effectiveness of life skills training in relieving depression was examined. Sixty two female students in grade nine were randomly selected and assigned to an experimental or a control group. Biweekly, the experimental group received life skills training sessions of two hours, for 12 weeks. The both groups completed the Children Depression Scale (Lang & Tisher, 1983) before and after the training. The results of ANCOVA posited that life skills training significantly decreased symptoms of depression: social problems, and mental preoccupation with illness and death. However there were no significant difference between the two groups in terms of affective response, feelings of guilt, self esteem and pleasure. It appears that a complete treatment of symptoms requires a more extensive training. Manuscript profile

Abstract The interactive effectiveness between Spiritual Intelligence (SQ) and life skills training (LST) on improving attitudes of university students to life skills were carried out in a randomized block designs study. At first, 166 male & female university students were randomly selected out of 11370 students at Islamic Azad University in Borujerd. Then attitude to life skills questionnaire (Ahadi, 1386), and Spiritual Intelligence questionnaire (Naseri, 1386) were filled out by the subjects. On the basis of the results of the Spiritual Intelligence questionnaire (higher or lower than the mean), the subjects were divided into four groups. There were two experimental groups, one with a higher score on SQ and the other with a lower score on SQ and two control groups under the same situation. The experimental groups in two separate classes of students with higher and lower score on SQ took part in 16 sessions of 3 hours of the LST, in a time span of 8 weeks. At the end of the course, subjects filled out the attitude to life skills questionnaire as the post test. Finally, after four months in order to figure out the stability or possible changes in the results, once more, in a follow- up study, the attitude to life skills questionnaire was administered. The results of statistical test of Independent-Samples t-test indicated that LST have a significant effect on improving attitudes of university students to life skills, though in an interaction with SQ, the two aforementioned factors have no significant effect on those.
