Political participation is one of the important concepts in social debates and political sociology. The stronger the political participation, the stronger the political legitimacy. In the Islamic Republic of Iran, political participation has been of great importance as the foundation of political legitimacy. After the victory of the revolution, the necessity of people's participation has not only not decreased, but its importance has increased. In the constitution of our country, there are several principles that specify and emphasize the all-round participation of the people in the political affairs of the Islamic society. In view of this, the main question of the present article has been raised as follows: What were the approaches of the Islamic Republic of Iran to political participation (with emphasis on the role of parties)? that this central hypothesis has been proposed that after the Islamic revolution, the parties acted as intermediaries between the people and the officials, which has become the basis for strengthening the legitimacy in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with political, social and cultural transformation in the society, has developed the growth and expansion of popular institutions and has provided the grounds for the participation of civil politics in the process of decision-making, policy-making and administration of the society, and the leaders of the system have emphasized it. Instagram, with its unlimited freedom and interactivity, has become the most important tool for political participation in Iran's elections. In this article, with the approach of persuasive verbal action of election materials and related issues in this platform, the effectiveness of its election participation has been evaluated. For this purpose, a qualitative method has been done by examining the Instagram contents of the 2020 elections in two principled political spectrums [Fars , Rasaei, Bahar and Yaminpour] and reformists [Ali Nejad, Zibakalam and Tajzadeh] with Atlas TI. For persuasive speech, John Searle uses five affirmative, requesting, expressive, declarative, and obligatory actions, which are the most important persuasive tools in electoral participation. In addition to not entering the election debate on Instagram, the fundamentalist spectrum has used only three actions of request, announcement and expression, and there is no commitment action that indicates a serious involvement in the election to improve the lives of voters. In the area of negative participation, reformist influencers have used four persuasive actions: expressive, declarative, affirmative, and request, which are consistent with the goals of negative participation. The first conclusion is that there is no trace of positive electoral participation [persuasive persuasive speech] in the Instagram content examined by the two political spectrums. The second result of political participation in this article is divided into two categories, negative and positive. The gray layer or passive ones whose criterion is not to vote in this work is known as negative political participation with the characteristic of conscious non-voting. Manuscript profile

Contemporary society is moving from traditional viewpoints to modern settings. The characteristic of the transitional period is the chaos evolved regarding the general state of affairs as well as both the behavioral and thought developments in a given society. Nonetheless, among these developments, women have not found a deserved place in political participation. Also, they have been judged as an incomplete political entity. The current study delves into the social losses of women through a descriptive-analytical study design. It investigates the notion that females have been diverted from the social interaction network and their way towards high levels of political power structures has been made difficult based on the various reasons rooted in the traditional social and economic belief structures. In other words, the participation of women in the higher levels of different organizations suffers from social, political, cultural, traditional, and personal barriers. Although the number of women specializing in society and work force has increased, their progress in decision making in the higher levels of political power structures has not reported to be significant. At present, the number of females in power structures of the world has been decreased dramatically comparing the last years in a way that they comprise less than five percent of the total world leaders." The purpose of the present study is to review the relationship between stratification components and students’ awareness and political participation emphasizing on the students of Shahid Chamrān University in Ahwāz. The research method is descriptive-analytic and the results showed that in the qualitative part, seven traditional and modern components for stratification were recognized by the research experts through content analysis. According to the results, those who have a more active political participation are from higher social stratification. In other words, those who are raised in families with high political participation and awareness, get more involved in political activities. The hypothesis testing results revealed that components of social stratification have a significantly positive impact on the students’ political awareness and participation. Besides, there is a significant relationship between independent variables (education, social status, power, and wealth) and dependent variables (familiarity with political characters, acquaintance with the duties of internal and international political institutions and organizations, and political participation). The correlation coefficient results showed that the relationship between the students’ economic-social status and their political participation is 0.741 which is significantly positive. Moreover, the correlation between their economic-social status and political awareness is calculated to be 0.618 which is positive as well. Manuscript profile

The purpose of the present study is to review challenges and strategies for informed political participation in the election system of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The research method is descriptive-analytic and it relies on the hypothesis that the election system in Iran, in the lack of political parties, is often under the influence of cultural, ethnic, and religious fads and is finally conducted without awareness and in a massive and wide spread way. Some of the proposed strategies in this article include the necessity of referring to other institutions and gatherings such as shopkeepers, mosques, journals, and mass media which can somehow perform special functions of parties like giving information, enhancing political perception, decreasing fads, and removing political indifference among people. The results indicate that as for voters, political participation in Iran faces predicaments such as nativism, ethnocentrism, lack of information, and unawareness. The predicaments related to candidates involve the high number of volunteers, dishonesty in speech, and injustice in campaign procedure. Manuscript profile

Women's political participation has different levels. One ofthe most important of them is the participation of elite women in political affairs. In order to understand this participation, one should pay attention to various factors, and also consider its different types in order to provide a more accurate analysis. This participation goes beyond merely participating in elections and voting rights or participating in political activities.Presence in the political elite(in this study, the Islamic Council)is very important for measuring women's political participation. In this research, this type of participation, considering the patriarchal model of the revolution, which is aimed at analyzing the situation of women after the Islamic revolution, has been measured and by using the comparative method, the three important components of this theory, namely"patriarchy","inequality"and"housekeeping"will be adapted to the situation of women's political participation. The findings of the research show that despite the expansion of women's presence in society, especially at the elite level (due to the increase in the level of education and employment), the presence of women at the political elite level and their participation at this level has not expanded much. Therefore, the components of the mentioned theory do not correspond to reality in the general situation of women, but it applies to the level of women's political participation. Manuscript profile

Mohammadreza ALIMARDANI[1] Alireza AZGHANDI[2]   Abstract By examining the political and social developments in Iran, it is impossible to determine the broad scope of political participation for women. In this sense, the main question of this study would be to know what are the obstacles to the participation of women? In response, it must be said that women’s political participation in political development is affected by the social, political and economic structure. The social, political and economic structure is a male structure; For this reason, it ideologically reproduces the participation of women and identifies women as dependent and passive variables. In fact, through the approach of Structuralist Marxism, we want to show that “the role of women as a behavior which influences or intends to influence the results of government” is wrong. This study examines and critiques the political participation of women in the development process in three periods: Qajar, Pahlavi and Republic Islamic of Iran. Inequality and ethnic diversity is not a threat in itself and if it is considered as a normal thing in a society and also is a corn stone of it, can provide opportunities for social prosperity. National security and political participation and its relationship to ethnic communities are very important. The more the sense of 'self' in ethnic communities the more their political participation and national security will be and vice versa. The process of globalization and the spread of communication transform and complicate the situation and it also has great influence on ethnic feelings and national security of societies. This paper seeks to answer the key question of “what is the role of ethnic inequalities in national security?”. The hypothesis is that, the ethnic inequalities reduce the national security and political participation. The main question which the present article discusses is what were the cause and ground of coming to power of Syed Mohammad Khatami (Reform government) in second Khordad 1376/1997? The article tries to base its argument on the theory of “uneven development” of Samuel Huntington. A theory which believes that once the political institution lag behind the social and economic transformation this phenomenon leads to creation of new foundation for political association and formation of new political institutions. The underlying hypothesis is that the uneven development of Hashemi period (Reconstruction period) was the cause of Khatami coming into power. In fact due to social and class mobility along with economic development and consequently the growth of new middle class which happened during this period new expectations and demands were created which were mainly participation in the country’s affairs and determining their political future. But during this period no tangible effort were made to fulfill these demands for political development. In this background the slogans of Khatami which were based on the above said demands led to this fact that a large section of voters cast their votes in favour of Khatami and this culminated to his victory in the seventh presidential elections.
