Decentering is an adaptive emotion regulation strategy that refers to the ability to gain perspective from one’s thoughts and feelings. The purpose of the present study was to examine psychometric properties of Farsi version of the Experiences Questionnaire (EQ; assessing decentering factor, Fresco et al., 2007) in student sample. All of the 182 students completed the experiences questionnaire, emotion regulation questionnaire, Beck depression inventory-II and Beck anxiety inventory. Pearson`s correlation, chronbach`s alpha and exploratory factor analysis used for analyzing the data. The internal consistency of EQ was 0.77. The convergent validity examined by using reappraisal subscale of emotion regulation questionnaire and the findings showed r= 0.462. To investigate the discriminate validity, subscale suppression of ERQ, BDI-II, & BAI were used. EQ and Suppression subscale don't have a significant correlation (r= 0.096) with each other. In addition, there were negative relationship between EQ and BDI-II (r=-0.543) and BAI (r=-0.359). Finally, Exploratory Factor Analysis identified two factors. This research provides promising evidence about psychometric properties of Farsi version of experiences questionnaire in non-clinical student population. Manuscript profile

The purpose of current study was to predict specific domains of hope based on attachment styles. The research design was correlational. The population consisted of all newcomers to Bu-Ali University of Hamedan in 2011-12. From among them, 250 were selected by multistage random sampling. Then, they attended the research instruments namely, Hazan and Shaver Adult Attachment Styles Questionnaire (1987) and Sympson Adult Domain-Specific Hope Scale (1999). The data was analyzed by structural equation modeling. Results showed that secure attachment style positively and significantly predicted each of five specific domains of hope (i.e. social relationship, academic, family life, occupation, and leisure time); but avoidant attachment style did not have any significant relationship with them. Furthermore, ambivalent attachment style could just predict family life of domain specific hope negatively and significantly. These results show that hope increase in individuals should be considered by their attachment styles since it needs to be taken place within certain specific domains of hope in order to avoid any further problems and to facilitate the efficacy of hope-inducing properties. The purpose of the study was to investigate the predicting role of self-efficacy and social support in addiction admission among university students. In terms of purpose, this study was a basic research; and in terms of data collection, it was an ex post facto descriptive research. Using multistage cluster sampling method, 296 (153 female and 147 male) students were selected from University of Tehran and they were asked to complete Perceived Multidimensional Social Support (Zimet et al., 1980), Self-Efficacy Scale (Schwarzer & Jerusalem, 1995), and Addiction Admission Scale (Weed et al., 1992). Results of stepwise regression analysis showed that total social support and self-efficacy can equally explain four percent of variance in addiction admission (p=0/003). In addition, among social support subscales, family support can explain six percent of variance in addiction admission (p=0/006). However, friend and significant others components did not have a significant role in the prediction. Therefore, focusing on family-oriented and individual-based approaches in addiction prevention may be more advantageous as compared to community-based approaches. Manuscript profile

Introduction: The main purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between information literacy and achievement motivation with the mediating role of self-regulated learning. Research Methodology: The research method is of a descriptive and correlational type. The statistical population of the study includes all university students of Jajarm city, among which 194 people were selected through relative category random sampling method according to the proposed formula of Fidell and Tabachnick (2007) and based on the number of students in each university. The data collection tools include Siamak and Davarpanah's information literacy (2008), Hermans' achievement motivation (1977) and Bouffard's self-regulation (1995) questionnaires which have face and content validity. The reliability coefficient using Cronbach's alpha was 0.86, 0.84 and 0.81, respectively. Data analysis was performed using Sobel test by SPSS. Findings: According to the statistical results, the strength of the relationship between information literacy and achievement motivation is 0.43, the relationship between information literacy and self-regulated learning is 0.20 and the relationship between achievement motivation and self-regulated learning is 0.41. The test statistic is 2.535, which is greater than the critical value of t at the level of 5% error, ie 1.96, and indicates that the observed correlation is significant. Conclusion: With 95% confidence, there is a relationship between information literacy and achievement motivation with the self-regulated learning mediating role in the university students of Jajarm city. Manuscript profile

The studies related to suicide , investigate three important phenomena which include suicide thoughts , suicide action , and suicide .pick in 1991 discussed that suicide thoughts is a two factor concept , which is specified with absence of life thoughts and presence of death thoughts . Therefore, this research has been accomplished with the objective of surveying the relation between control resource (internal – external) and life and death thoughts of the university students. The research was accomplished in Sistan and Balouchestan, in educational year 2008 -2009. 370 students (182 girls and 188 boys) were selected as statistical sample by classificatory random sampling method. After performance of control resource, life thoughts and suicide thoughts questionnaires, the data were gathered. In addition to using descriptive statistical methods such as frequency, the data were analyzed by statistical method of K square congruence. The findings demonstrated that the girls with internal control resource had higher life thoughts but they did not have lower death thoughts than girls with external control resource. Also, girls with external control resource had lower life thoughts but they did not have higher death thoughts. Boys with internal control did not have higher life thoughts and lower death thoughts, and boys with external control resource did not have lower life thoughts and higher death thoughts. Probably, one of the reasons that control resource in this research has less effects, is the power of religious and cultural beliefs. Probably, spiritual control resource can be more effective in controlling individual behaviors. Manuscript profile

Besides the incidence and quantity of law-aversion attitudes and behaviors of university students, definitely it is a problem which necessitatesmore serious consideration. This study seeks to determine the extent of law-aversion among the study population and what sociological factors are related to law-aversion. This research using survey and questionnaire in a sample size as 400 students in Tehran universities examined the variable and affecting factors. The findings showed that the rate of law-aversion among Tehran students is medium to low. While the average of the indicators of total religiosity, feeling of relative deprivation and feeling of inequality indicate an above-average level of these indicators among students. The results indicate that the relationship between the index of total religiosity and all its dimensions with law-aversion is relatively weak and inverse; That is, as students' religiosity increases, so does their law-aversion. Regarding the variable of relative deprivation, relationships are significant only in the individual dimension of deprivation and law-aversion. In fact, the increase in the individual dimension of the feeling of relative deprivation is in line with the increase in law-aversion among students, and that the relationship between feelings of inequality and law-aversion has not been significant. Finally, in the case of contextual variables, educational attainment and younger ages were more vulnerable. The results also suggest that policies should focus mainly on lower education and younger students. Manuscript profile

The study consists of a survey research conducted among 250 preuniversity students of Bookan city. Based on the theory offered by Pierre Bourdieu cultural capital has three dimensions: subjective, objective and institutional. Social Identity includes ethnical identity, national identity, religious identity and universal identity. There isn’t a positive correlation between cultural capital and the salience of the identities. Yet, the highest degrees of correlation are with ethnic and individual and national and religious identities, while the lowest is with global Identity. Also, the correlation between the various types of social identity and institutional and subjective dimensions of cultural capital is to some extent different from that with the objective dimension. Also, There is a meaningful relationship between the subjective dimension of cultural capital and tribal and national identities; while there is no meaningful relationship between the subjective dimension of cultural capital and the international and religions identities. The present investigation aims at examining the relationship among the Intelligence beliefs, educational self-efficacy, and achievement goals as well as their role in self-regulatory learning strategies (Cognitive and Meta Cognitive Strategies) of Payame Noor University students using a causal Model framework and through Path Analysis. In order to test the hypotheses, a sample of 600 students from Payame Noor University centers through multiple cluster sampling and stratified sampling were randomly selected, who answered a self-report questionnaire consisting of subscales of the intelligence beliefs (Abd-El-Fattah & Yates, 2006), achievement goals (Middleton & Midgley, 1997) and scale of educational self-efficacy and self-regulatory learning strategies taken from the Motivated Strategies for Learning questionnaire (Pintrich & DeGroot, 1990). The results indicated that the proposed causal model after revision enjoys a good fit index, and that the variables formed 34 and 30 percent of the total variance of cognitive and metacognitive strategies. In general, according to the results of this study, it was revealed that intelligence beliefs not only have a direct effect but also have an indirect impact on the students’ self-regulatory learning strategies through achievement goals and educational self-efficacy. The results indicated that students’ intelligence beliefs, especially incremental intelligence beliefs, through the mediation of achievement goals and educational self-efficacy, can be effective on the students’ self-regulatory learning strategies, and finally, on their performance. The Covid-19 pandemic has posed many challenges for students, bringing about negative impacts. Resilience has been a key factor in facing these challenges. This study was conducted to design a student resilience pattern in response to the pandemic in the target population of Islamic Azad Universities in the city of Tehran. A qualitative method was adopted, using the systematic grounded theory approach. Data were collected purposefully and theoretically through in-depth semi-structured interviews with 24 participants, including students, faculty members, and experts. Data were analyzed using open, axial, and selective coding in ATLAS.ti 9 Qualitative software. Findings revealed 147 codes and 36 subcategories from 10 main categories. Based on a paradigm model, the higher education students' resilient response to the Covid-19 pandemic was identified as a central phenomenon. Causal conditions were categorized into three main categories: individual (six subcategories and 26 codes), organizational (six subcategories and 31 codes), and social (four subcategories and 12 codes); contexts were classified into two main categories: internal (five subcategories and 15 codes) and external (three subcategories and 14 codes); and strategies were categorized into three main categories: prediction and prevention (two subcategories and seven codes), response and coping (four subcategories and 16 codes), and adaptation and compatibility (two subcategories and 11 codes). Consequently, consequences led to two main categories: short-term (two subcategories and seven codes) and long-term (two subcategories and eight codes). Manuscript profile

This study adopted a qualitative approach and applied content analysis to present a model for the quality of college life emphasizing on educational facilities. Indexed articles on the quality of college life were obtained from some prestigious academic databases in education. Articles on the quality of college life published outside Iran between 1992 and 2019 and those published in national databases between 2011 and 2019, were analyzed. A survey was also performed with some faculty members selected through convenience purposive sampling. After coding and categorizing 74 initial questions, their content validity was confirmed in two ways: qualitative (the opinion of 10 experts in the field of educational management) and quantitative (testing the relevance of each item through content validity ratio (CVR). Low validity questions were removed and finally 62 items were approved. Using the Holsti coefficient, the reliability of the questionnaire was estimated to be 0.91. An inductive approach to content analysis showed that four components of research facilities, learning opportunities, assessment and educational facilities were some variables that formed the quality of college life with an emphasis on educational facilities. Given the important role that university graduates play for the society in reaching its goals, the criteria suggested in the proposed model can help decision makers improve quality of college life among students with an emphasis on educational facilities.
