Emotional intelligence can be considered as the ability to understand and control theemotions in order to help the intellectual, decision making and communicational activities. Themain purpose of this study is investigating the relation between emotional intelligence and jobinvolvement among the staff of Islamic Azad University of Zanjan Province. For thispurpose230 employees were randomly selected and tested. The measuring instrument is 2questionnaires: Emotional intelligence questionnaire of Goleman (1998) andjob involvementquestionnaire of Kanongo (1982). Analyses with the help of software SPSS software showedthat there is a meaningful correlation between variable of emotional intelligence and jobinvolvement and based on components of emotional intelligence (self-awareness, selfmanagement,social awareness and organizing relations) we canoffer a model to predict the jobinvolvement variable. Also the working environment meaningfully intervenes in relations ofindependent variables of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and organizing therelations with the dependent variable of job involvement, and makes them changed.
