Marital conflict is an interactive process in which couples feel uncomfortable about aspects of their relationship and sometimes try to resolve it in different ways. The aim of this study was to determine the appropriateness of structural equation modeling of early maladaptive schemas and marital conflicts with the mediating role of alexithymia. This research is applied and in terms of methodology, is the descriptive of correlation between structural equations. The statistical population of this study included all married people who referred to the psychological clinics of Tehran's District 2 in the period from February 2016 to July 2017, which is at least one year after their married life. In order to sample 300 people from the mentioned community, they were randomly selected by voluntary sampling method. Data collection questionnaires Marital conflict questionnaire (Sanai, Barati and Boostanipoor, 1996), Yang's early maladaptive schemas (Young & Brown,2005), and Toronto's Emotional Disappointment (Bagby, Taylor & Parker, 1994) were used to collect data. The data were collected using statistical method of structural equation modeling (SEM) using AMOS_22 software. The results showed that the fit indicators after model modification have property values and are in good fit with the research model and also the scope of early maladaptive schemas is related to the mediating role of questionnaires with marital conflicts. The result is that existing relationships can be used to improve marital relationships. Manuscript profile

The purpose of this study was to develop and test a causal model of students' tendency to addiction based on differentiation through alexithymia and responsibility. The research method was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of the study included all undergraduate students of Azad University units in Tehran in the academic year of 2018-19. Cluster sampling was used to select the sample under study, with 350 students being selected as the sample group. Research instruments included the the Wade and Butcher Addiction Scale (1992), the Toronto Alexithymia Scale (1994), the Scorn and Friedlander Differentiation Scale (1998), Nemati Responsibility Scale (1387). They were. Descriptive (mean, standard deviation, tilting and elongation) and inferential (structural equation modeling) methods were used for data analysis using SPSS and Amos software. The results of the measurement model analysis showed that the factor structure of the research scales was acceptable. The results of the conceptual model test indicated that the fit indices of the research model were in good condition. The hypothesis regarding the indirect effect of differentiation on students' tendency to addiction through alexithymia and responsibility was confirmed (p <0.05). The findings of the study indicated that the conceptual model of the research was appropriate. Accordingly, in addiction treatment clinics, attention to antidepressant antecedents and differentiation is necessary to reduce the level of tendency to addiction. . Subsequent results of the study showed that the hypothesis regarding the indirect effect of differentiation on students' addiction tendency mediated by emotional malaise and responsibility was rejected by 95%. People with gender boredom obviously suffer from constant discomfort due to the inadequacy of the gender role and current feelings, abundant and continuous interest in identifying with the opposite sex without taking advantage of the specific cultural and social benefits of that sex. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of comparing suicidal thoughts, alexithymia and autistic traits in people suffering from sexual boredom and normal people. The current research was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive and causal-comparative in terms of data collection method. The statistical population of the current study was all people with gender dysphoria and transsexuals who were members of the Society for Support of Sexual Dysfunction Patients in Tehran province in 1401. Also, all normal people living in Tehran province were the population of normal people of this research. 50 people with gender dysphoria disorder and 50 normal people were selected in an available manner and due to the lack of in-person access to the subjects, the research data was collected in the form of an internet questionnaire. Beck (1991), Toronto Alexithymia (TAS-20) and Baron-Cohen et al (2001) autistic traits questionnaires were used to collect data. The collected data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance and SPSS24 software. The results showed a statistically significant difference between the two groups of people with gender dysphoria and normal people in suicidal thoughts (F=153.64 and P<0.01), alexithymia (F=207.89 and P<0.01) and There are autistic traits (F=133.24 and P<0.01). And autistic traits, alexithymia and suicidal thoughts are more common in people with sexual boredom than in normal people. Negative attitudes towards people with gender dysphoria and lack of proper social and cultural background, in most of these people, components such as autistic traits, alexithymia and suicidal thoughts are intensified by family and society. Therefore, in order to prevent its consequences, it is felt necessary to inform the society about this concept. Manuscript profile

Background: One of the basis of humanity achievement is creativity. There are several factors that can increase and decrease the amount of creativity; according to the literature one of these factors is Alexithymia. Purpose: The type of relation and effects of Alexithymia on creativity in Iran is not investigated yet. Thus, the aim of the study was prediction of creativity on the basis of Alexithymia’s components in Tabriz university students. Method: A number of 211 students were chosen by the ratio sampling method. For data collection Abedi Creativity Scale and Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20) were used. The data were analyzed in SPSS 18.0 using Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression method. Results: according to the results, creativity negatively correlated with alexithymia’s component and also the results showed that alexithymia’s components (difficulty identifying feeling, difficulty describing feeling, externally oriented thinking) significantly predict creativities changing’s. Hence, only beta coefficient of difficulty identifying feelings significantly can explain creativity. Conclusion: The study pointed that high creativity levels is associated with low Alexithymia dimensions, therefore for increasing creativity, researchers can plan programs that reduce Alexithymia. Manuscript profile

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between parental parenting styles with emotional maturity and Alexithymia. The research method was correlational and the target population was all-female high school students in Zanjan, in the academic year of 1395-96, and their parents, among whom 200 were selected by multistage cluster sampling method. They were the data collection tool included the scale of Bamerand child-rearing styles, the emotional adolescence of Singh et al. And the Alexithymia of Toronto's nougat. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the easy parenting style and emotional insecurity, personality disintegration as well as a general score of emotional immaturity (p < 0.05). There was a positive and significant relationship between descriptive childbearing style and difficult component in descriptive sensation (p < 0.05). There was also a negative and inverse relationship between the authoritative style and the overall Alexithymia and all components (p < 0.05). The results of multiple regression tests showed that facilitation style could explain emotional instability, personality decay and emotional immaturity with 24.8%, 19.2% and 24.4% of their total variance, respectively. Also, the powerful style could predict the components of difficulty in emotion recognition, difficulty in describing emotions and Alexithymia (total score) by 20.6%, 22.9% and 16.4%, respectively (p < 0.05). Finally, in only one case did the authoritarian style explain the difficulty in describing the emotions by 16.9% (p < 0.05). The aim of study was to investigate the effectiveness of emotion regulation training on the quality of life, coping strategies, and alexithymia of mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder. The research method was semi-experimental with pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population of all mothers of autistic children referring to a rehabilitation center for autistic children in Isfahan was 80 people. 30 mothers with children with autism spectrum disorder were selected by available sampling method and randomly assigned to two experimental groups (15 people) and control group (15 people). The mothers of the experimental group were trained in emotion regulation based on the Gross model (2002) during 8 sessions that were 2 hours, while the control group did not receive any intervention during this period. Before and after the training, all subjects answered the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire (1989), the Lazarus and Folkman Coping Strategies Questionnaire (1984) and the Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20 Questionnaire (1994). Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 24 and univariate and multivariate analysis of covariance. The results of the research showed that the scores of quality of life and coping strategies of the experimental group were significantly higher and the scores of alexithymia were significantly lower (P<0.05) in the post-test stage compared to the control group. These findings, suggest that emotion regulation training is a suitable way to improve the quality of life, coping strategies and alexithymia in mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder, and can be used as an intervention with empirical evidence in psychological clinics. Several constructs and measures of the processes of self–knowledge operate at different levels of integration and abstractness to facilitate and modulate self– regulating processes. Emotional intelligence and Alexithymia, as two constructs of reductionistic self-knowledge, contribute respectively to the existence and to the absence of emotional self-awareness. These two experiential and reflective components of self–knowledge provide a more holistic and integrative view of self-knowledge than the emotional intelligence and Alexithymia constructs do. Therefore, these two facets should positively correlate with all the dimensions of rational and experiential information processing systems. The data from Iran and the United States showed that these two facets of self-knowledge are positively associated with all components of the rational and experiential information processing systems. The Emotional intelligence and Alexithymia did not display such relationships. In both cultures, the two facets of self-knowledge also predicted some measures of mental health that are beyond the information processing systems. These results point toward the intertwined, dynamic, integrative, and temporal nature of selfknowledge processes and suggest a need for developing scales, which are more efficient in measuring these processes and in studying the similarities and differences in selfknowledge among cultures. Manuscript profile

O besity is one of the most common problems in today's world that can reduce the life satisfaction of people with this problem. Therefore, it is important to identify the factors related to their satisfaction with their lives. The present research was devoted to the role of alexithymia and rumination in predicting the life satisfaction of obesity patients. The research method was descriptive and correlational based. Among all obese and overweight women who referred to weight loss treatment centers (centers for nutrition counseling and dietary regimen) in Tehran in 1395, 106 women with a minimum degree of education at the age range of 15-65 and a BMI higher than 30 were selected. They responded to Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS, Diener, Emmons, Larsen, & Griffin, 1985), Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS, Bagby, Parker, & Taylor, 1994), and Ruminative Response Scale (RRS, Nolen-Hoeksema and Marrow, 1991). The results of regression analysis showed that rumination and alexithymia significantly explained 25% of life satisfaction in obesity patients. Based on these results, the life satisfaction in obese people by controlling rumination and increasing the ability to express emotion can be increased. Manuscript profile

the present study examined a theoretical model of indirect relationship between maternal bonding and symptoms of vulnerability related to eating through two mediational variables eating disorder beliefs and alexithymia. Five hundred and twenty five students (215 females, 210 males) were selected through the cluster random sampling. The sample completed the Eating Disorder Inventory (Garner & et al., 1987), the Alexithymia Scale (Bagby & et al., 1994), the Eating Disorder Belief Questionnaire (Cooper & et al., 1997) and the Parental Bonding Instrument (Parker & et al., 1979). The results of structural equation modeling indicated that the maternal bonding had a significant indirect relation to symptoms of vulnerability to eating through alexithymia. However, relation of maternal bonding to symptoms of vulnerability to eating through eating disorder beliefs wasn’t significant. The findings suggested that strengthening maternal bonding can play an important role in preventing eating disorders in adolescents. Manuscript profile

The aim of the present study was to investigate the prediction of alexithymia based on cognitive emotion regulation strategies and general health. Forty hundred and thirty one students (193 males, 238 females) were selected by stratified random sampling method from Urmia university. The participants were assessed using the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Strategies Questionnaire (CERQ, Garnefski, Kraaij , & Spinhoven, 2002), the General Health Questionnaire (Goldberg & Hiller,1979) and Farsi version of the Toronto Alexithymia Scale (Bagby,Parker, & Taylor,1994). Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise regression analysis. The findings indicated that there were significant positive relationships between alexithymia and all subscales of general health. There were also significant positive relationships between alexithymia and other-blame, self-blame and catastrophizing tendncies. Alexithymia had negative relationships with positive refocusing and acceptance. It was found that dysfunctional in social function, anxiety, acceptance, self-blame and catastrophizing tendencies, and other-blame accounted for 25% of the variance of alexithymia. The higher alexithymia, the lower will be the general health, and the more inefficient the cognitive emotion regulation strategies. The findings emphasize the need to recognize the role of cognitive emotion regulation strategies and general health in predicting students' alexitymia. Manuscript profile

AbstractSmoking is one of the serious health threats and one of the leading causes of death worldwide. This study aimed to predict the tendency to smoke based on alexithymia mediated by risk perception. The method of this study was descriptive and correlational. The study's statistical population included all employees of Tehran Municipality in 2019, from which 215 people were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling to participate in the study. The data collection tool included a questionnaire on the tendency to smoke salty cigarettes, Rajabi (2006) reported a Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of 0.83. Also, from the forum's high-risk events cognitive evaluation questionnaire with Cronbach's alpha coefficient (0.78) (Baheiraei et al., 2012). And Taylor et al.'s emotional non-verbal questionnaire (1991) was used with its retest reliability ranging from r=0.80 to r=0.87 (Besharat, 2007).. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS-25 and Amos-22 and structural equations. According to the results, the proposed model for predicting smoking tendency based on alexithymia mediated by risk perception had a good fit. Risk perception played a minor mediating role in the relationship between alexithymia and smoking tendency. Based on the results of this study, it is possible to reduce the tendency to smoke by helping people overcome alexithymia and increase their perception of risk. Keywords: Alexithymia, Perception of danger, Smoking Manuscript profile

The research was purposed to study causal relationship of culture oriented tendency to control weight based on self-concept (ideal and real) among overweight girls mediated by alexithymia. The statistical population consisted of all overweight girls referred to nutritional clinics in Ardabil. The sample encompassed 250 subjects whom were selected via convenient sampling procedure. The research method was descriptive of correlational one. To collect data Rogers’ Self-Concept Scale (1938), Toronto Bagby et al.’s Alexithymia Scale (1994) and Dietary Adherence Scale (1994) were implemented. The data was analyzed by applying Pearson's correlation coefficient and path analysis, using SPSS-26 and AMOS-23 software. The results revealed that there was a direct positive and significant relationship between ideal self-concept and tendency to control weight, while there is a negative and significant relationship between real self-concept and tendency to control weight. The results of indirect correlation coefficient also suggested that alexithymia, as a mediating variable between the real self-concept and tendency to control weight, could negatively and significantly predict the tendency to control weight and positively and significantly predict the tendency to control weight in the relation between ideal self-concept and tendency to control weight. The results indicated an optimal goodness of fit of the model. Finally alexithymia as a mediating variable in the relationship between self-concept and the tendency to control weight can play an important role in controlling the weight of overweight girls. Clinical route of many dermatologic diseases is due to the mutual and complex interactions between biological, psychological, and social causes that can affect them as predisposing, accelerating, or enduring factors. Psoriasis is one of the most common autoimmune skin diseases with psychosomatic origins and consequences, which is accompanied by vulnerability to stress, emotional disorders, and difficulty in expressing negative feelings. Many psoriasis sufferers have problems in how much they experience anger and how to express and control anger. Two components of D personality including, negative emotionality, social inhibition, and emotional ataxia seem to be important in psoriasis. Due to the neglect of clinical researches and organized attention to the investigation and improvement of the psychological factors of this disease, a more comprehensive explanation of the occurrence of this disease with a more targeted interaction and integration of medical and psychological perspectives is nessesary. Theorethical and practical conjunction between dermatologists, psychologists and psychiatrics in the interdisciplinary field of psychodermatology can lead to maintain higher health services for psoriatic patients as well as achieving scientific outcomes. One of the research goals in psychology approaches, is to understand the factors that contribute to vulnerability of people. Investigation and identification of psychological and physical vulnerability factors has created a new orientation in prevention, diagnosis and adoption of the treatment method. People might have special physical and psychological vulnerabilities that predispose them to mental and physical disorders. Alexithymia is one of the traumatic variables. This study aims to predict psychological and physical vulnerabilities based on alexithymia. In this study, the moderator role of gender and marriage is studied in the relationship between psychological and physical vulnerability with alexithymia. 206 men and 193 women from the general population of Tehran participated in this study. The participants completed the symptoms Check list and the 20-itemToronto alexithymia scale. The results indicated that alexithymia has significant difference with psychological vulnerability and physical vulnerability at p<0.01 level. Marriage, also has the role of moderator in the relationship between alexithymia and physical vulnerability. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that early detection of alexithymia, can help prevent physical and psychological damage. We can also manage and treat alexithymia in the context of intervention models. Manuscript profile

The Temparement is one’s behavioral manner that determines specific reactions and includes functional organization that formed by different systems and logical comprehension about self, others and world. The main feature of alexithymia is difficulty in identifying emotion and adjusting of emotional reactions in confrontation with emotional events. The aim of this study was to investigate of Structural Relation in Temparement-character ,Alexithymia and Percieved Stress with Addiction Preparation in University Students. for this reason in during the descriptive-correlation study , 348 student were selected by convenience sampling method and assested in Temparement -character Alexithymia, Percieved Stress and Addiction Preparation .the results of confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling indicated that the measured model with the conceptual model has favorable fit. There was positive significant effect of alexithymia and perceived stress on addiction preparation and also there was positive and significant effects of novelty seeking, reward dependence and harm avoidance on addiction preparation. And the negative significant effects of self-directedness and self-transcendence on addiction preparation. This study is supporting that alexithymia, perceived stress and Temparement-character factors is Predisposing factors in preparation to addiction. Chronic Pain is a weakening condition which not only exposes the person suffering to stress due to pain, but also encounters him or her with continuous tension and influences various aspects of his or her life and disturb it. The aim of the study, was prediction of Alexithymia based on early Maladaptive Schemas and Perfectionism with the Mediating role of Cognitive Flexibility in people with Chronic Pain. For this purpose, from the patients with Chronic Patients who have referred to Tehran hospitals, 300 people were chosen be convenience sampling and assessed regarding Alexithymia, Early Maladaptive Schemas, Perfectionism, and cognitive flexibility. Results of route analysis showed Cognitive Flexibility with the rate of 0.23 has negative effect on Alexithymia (p < 0.05). Among the areas of early Maladaptive Schemas, only the area of disrupted limitations in explanation of Alexithymia variance has 0.13 positive effect (p < 0.01). Another finding of the study showed that Maladaptive Perfectionism has the rate of -0.279 effect in explanation variance of Alexithymia (p < 0.01); and Adaptive Perfectionism in explanation of Cognitive Flexibility variance, has effect with the rate of 0.139 (P < 0.05). Ultimately, indirect effect of Adaptive Perfectionism with the effect rate of -0.035 on Alexithymia through Cognitive Flexibility is meaningful (P < 0.05). Manuscript profile
