        Objective: User satisfaction in most organizations is the main component of its dynamics. This is doubly important in university libraries that meet the information needs of students and faculty. The purpose of this study is to achieve the level of user satisfaction with Academic libraries. Method: In terms of purpose, the present study is in the category of applied research and in terms of data collection method is in the category of library and descriptive-survey research. Data were collected by a questionnaire. Users of academic libraries of state universities in Tehran formed the statistical population of this study. For sampling, sequential integrated sampling method was used and 60 questionnaires were distributed among users. Descriptive statistics (mean and frequency) were used to answer the questions. SPSS software was used for descriptive analysis of data. Results: The findings showed that users are very little satisfied with the library resources. Users are also little satisfied with library buildings and equipment, library librarians, and library services. The findings also showed that there is a significant difference between the current situation and the desired situation of user satisfaction with resources, buildings and equipment, librarians, and academic library services Conclusion: In general, it can be argued that users are little satisfied with the academic library of state universities. Therefore, there is a need for a comprehensive change in order to upgrade and improve the condition of academic libraries. The present study was conducted to investigate the qualifications of university library librarians. Method: The present study is a descriptive-survey research. Data were collected by a questionnaire. Librarians of academic libraries of state universities in Tehran formed the statistical population of this study. For sampling, sequential integrated sampling method was used and 60 questionnaires were distributed among the librarians. Results: Results showed that managerial competencies with an average (3.4) are moderate, information retrieval competencies with an average of (4.16) in good level. Information technology competencies with an average (3.02) in average condition, research competencies with average (1.17) in very bad level, communication competencies with average (3.87) in average level, and individual and moral competencies with average (3.48) in mediocre are placed. Conclusion: In general, it can be argued that librarians' qualifications are in the average position with an average of 3.18. There is a need for officials and trustees to upgrade and improve the qualifications of librarians by holding various courses. Manuscript profile

        Objective: Preliminary evidence and review of previous research indicate that theorizing in the field of information science is not in a good position. The purpose of this study is to weigh the barriers to theorizing in this field. In fact, in this research we seek to know how many obstacles each of the barriers of theorizing has. Methods: The present research is in the category of applied research in terms of purpose and in the category of library and descriptive-survey research in terms of data collection method. Data were collected by a researcher-made questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by information experts. Cronbach's alpha was used to evaluate the reliability. The reliability of the questionnaire was also reported .87% and was confirmed accordingly. The statistical population of this research formed the faculty members of the field of information science of Iran’s universities. In this study, the sampling unit was the university and the sampling method was sequential. In the first stage, each university was selected by random. In the next stage, among the faculty members of each university, the final sample was purposefully selected. Questionnaires were distributed among 60 faculty members in the field. Out of 60 distributed questionnaires, 37 questionnaires were returned. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. In order to answer the research questions, one-sample t-test was used. SPSS software was used to analyze the data. Results: The results of one-sample t-test showed that individual, educational, cultural and managerial barriers have a great extent, economic and social barriers have a large extent hinder in theorizing of information science. Among these barriers, educational barriers with an average of 4/18 have the most, and political barriers with an average of 3/66 have the lowest barrier. Conclusion: So far, the barriers of theorizing in information science field have not been analyzed with a quantitative approach, so the present study is original in terms of subject and method of analysis.         Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the level of qualifications of librarians and the level of user satisfaction of libraries of public universities in Tehran. methodology:  In terms of purpose, this research is an applied research that belongs to the category of descriptive correlational research. In order to assess the competence of librarians, a prefabricated questionnaire containing 31 questions was used. User satisfaction was also assessed with a researcher-made questionnaire containing 28 questions   The statistical population of the study consisted of librarians and users of libraries of public universities in Tehran. Librarians' competency and library satisfaction questionnaires were distributed among 60 librarians and 60 users selected by sequential integrated sampling. Descriptive statistics (frequency, mean and percentage) and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation test) were used to analyze the data. 25 SPSS software was used to analyze the data. Results: The findings of this study indicate that there is a positive, weak and significant relationship between librarians' managerial competencies and job satisfaction, librarians' information retrieval competencies and user satisfaction, as well as a positive, weak and significant relationship between librarians' communication competencies and user satisfaction. It becomes. Unlike the above competencies, which have a weak relationship with user satisfaction with the library, information technology competence has a positive, meaningful and strong relationship with user satisfaction with the library. In general, the results indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between librarians' competencies and user satisfaction with the library. In other words, as the librarian's qualifications increase, so does the user's satisfaction with the library. Conclusion: In expressing the originality and value of this research, it can be said that there is a significant and positive relationship between user satisfaction with the library and the competencies of librarians. In other words, that there is a direct relationship between these two variables, with increasing the level of competence of librarians, the level of user satisfaction with the library increases and vice versa.         Objective: Due to the different functionalities of web 2.0 in the information age, offering integrated services and offering library and information services for meeting society information needs, necessitates knowledge and use of practical facilities of web 2.0. This study aimed to assess understanding and using Web 2.0 functionality of Iranian public librarians in the workplace. Methodology: This is a survey-descriptive study; Population includes public librarians (32 provinces of Iran. According to a report by the Department of Human Resources of Iran Public Libraries Foundation, the numbers of librarians in public libraries by the end of 2011 were (4921). 357 librarians were selected by cluster sampling method. For data collection in this study, the researcher made questionnaire was used based on a review of the related literature and other researchers’ Web 2.0 tools. For answering the research questions and hypotheses of descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage) and inferential tests (one-group t test, ANOVA and Duncan's post hoc test) was used. Findings: The results showed that Iranian public librarians Understanding and using Web 2.0 functionality was at low (44 percent) and as well as the use of library facilities and functionalities of Web 2.0 for    getting service to library users were at low (48 percent). The most capabilities of Iranian public libraries were in using E-mail and blog and the least capabilities were in using of flicker and Wiki. Conclusion: The rate of use of Web 2.0  of public librarians in the work was low. Retraining courses, in-service training while serving with the web, encouraging librarians to understand the web and its application in library services are required to be studied. This study can be considered as a new research aspect, specifically has considered Understanding and using Web 2.0 functionality of Iranian public librarians  in the workplace.The results of the survey can help managers and librarians for efficient use of these facilities in the workplace.         The present project has been performed to study attitudes of university libraries of the country towards a draft code of professional ethics of Iranian librarians and information specialists and provide a model for planning final code of ethics. For collecting date in this study questionnaires have been used. These questionnaires have been designed on the basis of draft code of professional ethics of Iranian Library and Information Science Association, Qom Branch. It is notable that this draft codified according to complied and written ethical code of librarianship for 38 countries available in the IFLA site and published as a book. For accepting or rejecting of research hypotheses, Mann-Whitney U-test and Kruskall-Wallis test, and for answering to the project questions, Friedman test have been utilized. Result of Friedman test showed that preferences of code of professional ethics based on academic librarians' viewpoint are responsibility to self, society, user, colleagues, field, organization, and profession, respectively.     Manuscript profile
