Background and Objective: Due to high mobility and toxicity of mercury in environment and also high accumulation of mercury in food chain, it is important to understand and predict human exposure and ecological risk assessment of mercury. The purpose of this study was to investigate the total concentration of mercury and its bio-availability in sediment of Petrochemical and Ja'fari creeks. Method: In the present study, 27 sediment samples were collected from the sampling sites. Digestion was employed in sample digestion followed by analysis using MOOPAM. Samples were analyzed and determined for mercury concentrations by Mercury Analyzer model VM-3000 MERCURY VAPOR MONITOR. Sediments were further investigated for mercury fractions using a three step sequential extraction procedure of BCR. Results: The concentrations of THg in sediment samples with a minimum of 2.19 and maximum of 45.71 and average of 23.9 milligram per liter show that area is contaminated with mercury according to the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration standard. Discussion and Conclusion: The sequential extraction procedure showed that most Hg in the sediments was largely bound in exchangeable phases. Therefore it can't be exchanged between water and sediment under the physicochemical conditions with alkaline pH. The mercury which bound to exchangeable phase can easily desorb and adsorb by sediments. High content of mercury was in station close to chloral alkaline factory and with distance, Hg concentration was decreased. Manuscript profile

Bio-absorption is presented as an alternative to traditional physicochemical means for removing toxic metals from ground water and wastewater. In this research 99 bacterial strains were isolated from three wastewater samples from one of Iran petrochemical industries. Examination of these isolated for Pb2+ tolerance were carried out by using PYT agar medium containing different concentrations of      Pb (NO3)2  from 4 to 15 mM. The isolated KAH1, KAH2 and KAH3, had tolerance to Pb 15, 6.5 and 6.5 mM respectively. These high tolerant strains were selected and their ability of lead bio-absorption, were investigated by atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The highest ability was observed in the strain KAH1 and this strain decreased Pb concentration from 80 mg/l to 44.4 and 48.2 mg/l after 48 and 96 hours incubation, respectively. The results of the experiments showed that bio-absorption was affected by the initial pH of the medium, initial metal ion and exposure time. According to the morphological, physiological and biochemical characterizations of the strain with that of valid strains, the strain was tentatively identified as Bacillus sp. strain KAH1. The maximum Lead bio-absorption capacity of KAH1 isolate was determined to be 48.25 mg/g (97.67%) at pH 4.0 with 150 mg/l concentration in 4 hours equilibrium time Manuscript profile

Nowadays one of the most important global issues is environmental problems that can cause harm to human and other organisms. This problem is caused due to various factors like pollutants and other environmental disturbances. Because of these factors we need to find strategies for solving such problems. One of the most important problems in the world is the pollution produced by different industries like oil industry that has a significant role in the nations economic and progress. There are many solutions and methods for surveying and mitigating the industries effects.Multiple Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) is one of these methods that order alternatives based on their importance. Ranking problems consist in rank ordering of all alternatives from the worst to the best, looking at their evaluations on the considered criteria. In present study two more important outranking methods (PROMETHEE and ELECTRE) were assessed and their advantages and disadvantages were surveyed. Also a study was done in Arak petrochemical industry by PROMETHEE method as an case study and construction phase alternatives were ranked by mentioned method.Case study investigation and review on other studies showed that the PROMEHTEE method because of some features like being easy to use, understandable, Ability to cope with uncertainty, importance the decision makers, ability of visual representation, validity and flexibility is more applicable than ELECTRE.So the suggested method can be applied for making environmental decisions and also oil and petrochemical industries that simultaneously deal with qualitative and quantitative data and uncertainty. Petrochemical industries pollutants especially heavy metals affect human health and environment. In this study, impacts of poly ethylene terephthalate petrochemical industries in Mahshahr economic special zone are evaluated with Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) by weighting and synthesizing of health human and environmental damage criteria. In this region, main petrochemical industries are constructed close to fiords. Hence pollutants due to these industries have detrimental effects on fiords as most important ecosystem with high biodiversity. Health human damage evaluation is achieved by expressing the impacts of each pollutant on employee and local population health. Environmental damage assessment requires on intuitive expression pollutants density and environmental sensitivity. Finally nine main pollutants are evaluated according to the kind of studied petrochemical industry, TSS, Oil & Grease, COD, Heavy metals, SOX, NOX, CO2, H2S and PM. these pollutants are then compared to derive a environmental scores. Results indicate that water pollution is most important issue and TSS and Oil & Grease with 0.235, 0.326 scores from waste water discharged as highest priority should be controlled in studied area. Air pollution due to gaseous emission is second priority.    Manuscript profile

Analysis of the factors influencing the delaying of the project and finding the solution for planning and time and cost management for Better implementation of the project is the main aim of this study. Since reducing delay in industrial projects is important, in this research, we decided to investigate the main factors of the delay in the petrochemical industry as one of the profitable industries and job creation field. The results indicate that such factors as the sanctions, reduction in the oil prices and the global economic downturn are among the most serious influential reasons. This problem especially is more reflected in workload fluctuations in the construction Industry. OPEC Members (Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Venezuela, etc.) are exposed to these fluctuations and petrochemical constructions and their products are jobs creation factors considered as the important economic positions for these countries. The current study aims to investigate the factors causing a delay in the construction and commissioning of petrochemical projects. The most serious challenge these countries encounter in the development of this industry is considered from four perspectives: time, money, quality, and structure. Applying grounded theory method and by doing semi-structured interviews with a group of experts in petrochemical industry concepts obtained from extraction case studies and organized in the form of four hypotheses and presented in a conceptual network. In the discussion related to labor rights, like any other human rights category, we need a theoretical design about rights. A theory that emphasizes the necessity and moral and legal requirements of work regulations and justifies the existence and value of the basic rules and principles of work on which the foundation of this article is based; as follows ; Prohibition of discrimination in employment, equal pay for work of equal value, minimum working age for children and abolition of compulsory work. To improve the aforementioned principles in the petrochemical company in the free zones, we applied a creative management method. In fact, management science provides solutions to improve the implementation of the fundamental principles of rights. For this reason, we first explain the prospects, values, threats and strengths of labor laws in free zones and evaluate them based on matrix tables. With the investigation carried out with the Swot-Ahp method, we reached interesting results that if the approach of strategies for petrochemical workers in free zones must be revised in the laws related to the hearing board regarding the way of appeal and the way of expressing the request from the workers and Also, arrangements should be made regarding the handling of workers' cases. Employers should also consider requiring workers' requests to be in writing at the time of signing the contract and taking into account the rights of workers in the context of the contract in the face of any changes in the work environmen Manuscript profile

In order to achieve higher performance in organizations, the need for alignment of strategy with contingency variables like Structure and Environment is necessary. Petrochemical Projects in Iran have faced a violent business environment as a result of the Sanctions, change in oil price, exchange rate, and input price of plants. Based on the contingency theory, in order to achieve better performance results in projects as contemporary organizations, it is necessary to consider Business Environment in formulation of project strategy. Therefore, the purpose of the current research was to present the typology of the project strategy based on Business Environment contingency variable influencing the Iranian petrochemical Projects. By reviewing literature we provide a conceptual model as our first-order construct. Using cases study research; we chose to employ qualitative method for improving the model. The case data of 10 projects was selected from the petrochemical Projects. Qualitative data analysis was used for data analysis. In addition to interview, multifaceted data collection including document investigating and questionnaire was also considered. Regard to selecting the Miles and Snow business strategies as baseline of the project strategy, project strategy typologies was plotted in a two-dimensional matrix in terms of fundamental/gradual environmental changes and internal/external project focus. These typologies were redefined for project level through interviews results. Finding suggests that Business Environment difference of projects caused different projects Strategies that required different entrepreneurial, engineering and administrative capabilities to manage projects. This article tries to identify the forward and backward linkages of Petrochemical sector using conventional and improved Chenry-Vatanabe, Rasmussen and Eigenvector methods. It relies on Eigenvector method noted much.  This method, based on Perron-Frobenius theory, considers the continuity of durability in one sector to the others due to the quantity of the final demand and added value. So, Input-Output table of the year 2001 aggregated to 27 sectors are used. The results represent that petrochemical sector in all the methods used has strong Forward linkage (FL>1) and weak Backward linkage (BL<1). Thus, this is not a key sector. Strong Forward linkage shows a high level of intermediate demand belonging to all sectors. Hence, we can say that petrochemical sector is a superior industry for most economic sectors and its sufficiency is higher than other economic sectors. Manuscript profile

Being a non-contact safe imaging technique, MIT has been an appropriate method for non-invasive and non-destructive industrial and medical imaging. In this imaging method, a primary magnetic field is applied by one or more excitation coils to induce eddy currents in the material to be studied, and then the secondary magnetic field from these eddy currents is detected in sensing coils. Image reconstruction is obtained from estimated electric conductivity coefficients by using measurement data and solutions of forward and inverse problems. MIT is a promising modality for noninvasive medical imaging due to its contactless and nonionizing technology. On the other hand, one of the needs of experts in oil/gas industry is to get information about process inside pipelines and tanks containing oil and gas, which is usually not accessible without disconnecting the process. For this reason, tremendous efforts have been made on measurements and nondestructive tests without physical disconnecting the process. In recent years, applications of process tomography as an imaging non-invasive tool for imaging from inside of pipelines, monitoring and measuring flows have increased. In this Paper, the properties of process and medical tomography systems reviewed. Manuscript profile

This study aimed to determine and prioritize the factors affecting visionary leadership and model validation based on the Marun and Amirkabir petrochemical complex managers' experiences. The study's statistical population consisted of managers and senior petrochemical experts, of which 200 were selected as a sample group. The research tool was a questionnaire whose validity was confirmed based on the collective opinion of faculty members and management experts, and Cronbach's alpha was used to determine the degree of reliability. The results of exploratory factor analysis ultimately lead to the identification of factors affecting visionary leadership based on the managers’ lived experiences of the Marun and Amirkabir petrochemical complex in the form of a conceptual model of visionary leadership style. The model includes production challenges, inflexibility, technical and political management, authoritarianism, employees’ personality differences, input and output of the organization, lack of intra-organizational integration, human relations management, vision presentation, supervision, and management of human resources. The confirmatory factor analysis of the visionary leadership model showed that the visionary leadership style model and the affecting factors in Marun and Amirkabir petrochemical complex could be fitted and applied. It was indicated that these data are reliable, and the obtained model has sufficient validity. The ranking results also showed that the most influential factors on visionary leadership are human resource management, authoritarianism, and lack of integration. Other factors are in the following ranks of importance, including supervision, human relations management, production challenges, technical and political management, employees’ personality differences, the entry and exit factors of production, inflexibility, and vision presentation. The aim of the current research is to obtain the demand function of production inputs in the petrochemical industry. In order to test the relationship between the variables, the information of the time period 2015-2018 has been used. The statistical population of this research is the companies that produce petrochemical products. The results of this research showed that the relationship between the share of raw material production factors in the total cost paid to production factors and the relative price of labor, raw materials and raw materials and products is positive and its relationship With the relative price of machines. and energy is negative. The results of substitution elasticities also show that capital with labor, raw materials with labor and capital with energy are alternative inputs, capital with raw materials, raw materials with energy are complementary inputs. In the estimated cross elasticities, see It was found that the price elasticity of raw materials is higher than other inputs in terms of absolute value, in other words, the demand for raw materials is more sensitive to price changes than other inputs. The inputs of capital, labor and energy are in the next ranks in this field. Also, the absolute value of the numerical value of the price elasticities of all inputs is less than one, and therefore it can be said that the demand for all inputs is inelastic. Manuscript profile

Ballast waters are one the most important sources of pollution in continental areas. Khark Island is among sensitive areas according to International Maritime Organizations (IMO). Shipping activities have emotional impact on marine waters around Kharg Petrochemical terminals. In this study, ballast water and sea water samples around Khark Petrochemical terminals were seasonally analyzed in 2015. Temperature, pH, DO, salinity, EC, TDS, TSS, chloride, total hardness, sulphate, silicon and phosphate were measured in Kharg Petrochemical laboratory. In water, chloride ion was observed in the range of 19100 to 24300 mg / l and sulfate ions in the range of 2100 to 3340 mg / l. Phosphate ions were not detected in any of the ballast water samples and the waters around the island of Kharg. In the waters around Khark Island chloride ions at concentrations of 2100 to 23217 mg/l and sulfate ions in the range of 2370 to 3100 mg/l were observed. The results indicated that, availability of anions and cations in the ballast waters changed the balance of physical and chemical properties. This may cause stress and may affect marine life in the region. According to this study, water changing characteristics are not identified as an acute danger in the ecosystem. Manuscript profile
