Many of scenes look like painting, so it could be concluded that the figure is dominant. The main character in “Have You Another Apple?” is not like the heroes in classic films; he is immature and fool. In the most scenes of this movie, human is portrayed as a “captive”. In the last century, there has been a cultural challenge between Iran and the West, and after the Islamic Revolution, this issue has been in the form of a kind of alienation, clearly, laying the groundwork and creating a kind of "discourse tension"; In a way, along this challenge, "secular discourse" is opposed to "Islamic discourse" inside Iran. Influenced by this confrontation, the field of art and especially cinema has also witnessed the alignment of the above two discourses. The one-line thinking of the secular approach to the world paves the way for the formation of intellectual discourse along the stream of Persian film. Given the principles of the secular world, this discourse seeks to provide new definitions and elements. This article tries to explain the central and peripheral elements of intellectual cinema. Then, with the new method of "discourse semiotics", the analysis of the movie House on Water, which is a suitable representative for the discourse of intellectual cinema, will be analyzed. Cinema, due to its visual appeal and propaganda power in today's advanced world, has attracted the attention of those involved in various economic, cultural, political and social fields around the world. The main purpose of this study is the content analysis of women's social harms in movies with emphasis on the phenomenon of addiction in the first three decades after the Islamic Revolution. In this research, the history of Iranian cinema has been studied using the documentary method. In the review of films made with the theme of addiction, those that deal with women's addiction have been selected and examined. Also, in the field of reviewing the theories related to addiction, life-oriented theory, drug subculture theory, incomplete mourning theory and social deviation theory, the documentary method has been used. Then, the films were analyzed using qualitative content analysis method based on research questions and categories. The findings show that the representation of changes in the type of drugs used has been somewhat influenced by reality. The distribution of the production of films that deal with the subject of women's addiction, considering that we are facing a growth of more than two percent of women's addiction in the country since the late seventies, despite the small number, seems appropriate. A total of three films on addiction were made in the 1960s and 1970s, and six in the 1980s. However, the small number of these films shows the neglect of the subject and the limitations of representing women addiction in our cinema. Manuscript profile

In this research, the hero and heroic discourse in the genre of the incident is examined. In the present study, three levels of analysis have been selected to examine the cinematic samples to go beyond the level of descriptive character and to enter into the analysis of the discourse of texts. The purpose of this study is to examine the way in which insider representations are opposite. The hero's image alone has not been the subject of research, and is considered to be part of the anti-hero. In the first level, the methodology of the "Selvi and Kadyrie" model is used to examine the implicit and obvious meanings of the sequences, in the second level, Bart's narrative pattern is used to describe the semiotic. Subsequently, using the method of critical discourse analysis, Vendike's analysis of the heroic and anti-heroic discourse of the text has been analyzed. The findings of this research determine and characterize the type of personality, role in the plot, polarization and verbal literature and the levels of hermeneutics of meaning in the films. By observing and analyzing the films, what has been seen in the face of the other in all texts is "good modeling for itself" and "creating disadvantages for another". Manuscript profile

The theory of "reflection" in the cinema sociology sees the film as documents that reflect the social life and therefore by examining them, which in them, and by them, we can realize changes and social trends. In this article, Tehran city is analyzed and readout from the perspective of cinema sociology in viewing experience and the emergence of the 40’s cinema, and changes in behavior and cultural norms and social and economic transformations and their impact on behaviors and norms of the city by the method of semiotics. Urban social life is cause and movies are effect. As a result, given the position of cinema sociology, we can realize common urban issues and also reflection of the mentality in this particular historical period, and we can find social consciousness and a new morality that accompanied these relations and public reaction of citizens in the face of this city. The at hand study’s approach is Semiotics of Saussure, and the confrontation for finding the narrative structure and the contrasts. Then, the social structure with its developments compared to discover the social meanings of images. Urban social life is cause and movies are effect, and since based on Goldman's view, the original creator of the artwork, not the author, but it is the social group which this worldview is formed in it; we had tried to bridge between provided images of the city and The role of ideology and social classes and be clear that these pictures are the product of the view of which groups and social classes to the community? Unlike specialists in film studies, sociologists work with large data and are interested in the relationship between the community and films, which is why this is a microscopic study of a large data. Urban issues are more than not, usually subjects such as contrast of urban and rural, urban and rural contrasts characters, Housing problem, the marginalized, the class struggle in the big cities particularly with an emphasis on spatial inequalities between neighborhoods, issues and events that are happening in the neighborhoods of the city. Then we checked out these films and divided them based on the image of the city which the films were offered. Then we selected films of each class which clearly had more features in the image in question, as examples. We tried to review the changes of the city and transformations of cultural, social and economic norms of behaviors and their impact on urban norms and behaviors. The result was a film that was one of the most influential films of the '40s, Khesht-o-Ayineh (Created by Ebrahim Golestan, Year 1344 Solar Hijri calendar), and with analyzing and explaining these videos and extracting common features of them through image semiotics and given the status of knowledge for cinema, Common to urban issues in this particular historical period can be realized and also the part of the mind, the unconscious social and public reaction of citizens in the face of the city can be realized. Events such as war due to the ideals of a land, can be the formation and background of the memory of a city or country. In order to continue and transmit these memories, we must pay attention to the emphasis on the representation of urban spaces and identities that affect people and their mentality. In order to revive the spaces and emphasize the history of a city, events and especially events such as war, films play a planning role. In this regard, the present researcher has examined two films, "The Third Day", which narrates the resistance in the western regions of Khorramshahr in 1980, and "Standing in the Dust", which begins from the moment. The purpose of this study is to influence the elements and features of urban spaces in promoting war memories by movies. What a representation of the wartime period for the consolidation and continuity of urban spaces is reminiscent of a war event. Accordingly, first by using documentary studies and important libraries of urban spaces and cinema and communication with each other in the form of urban symbol, personality, urban functions, values, rituals, the voice of the city and nature. And was expressed based on important criteria and elements to revive memory in each field. Then, the amount of portrayal in the two films "Third Day" and "Standing in the Dust" was examined and according to the results obtained from the encounters with the representation of war, according to the ideology of directing has shown. Studies show that most of the urban spaces used in "Standing in the Dust" focused on urban performance with a duration of 1642, the film time and the highest in "Third Day". The time of the display of wartime spaces is related to the symbol of the city, such as the search to display the symbolic meanings of trenches, enemy tanks and martyrs in inducing the concept of war in the city, which is 677 seconds of the film. From the viewers' point of view, the symbol of the city in "The Third Day" is one of the most important in the inductions of the war, while the film "Standing in the Dust" refers more to the quality that has the natural characteristics of war and the performance of the city. Considering the comparison between the qualities expressed and the author in the movie In the Dust, it is important to pay attention to urban performances, which is also very effective in the eyes of the viewers of this movie, and in the third day movie, the symbol of the city is considered by the director. And the author is considered and is considered as an important symbol of the city by the viewers of this film. Interviews and hockey reviews of urban performance and war landscape symbols in the sequence of war genre films have a significant impact and based on this, map solutions to provide urban views from an urban planning perspective in these cases have been presented. Recently, the modernist novel was based on the visual data taken from the visual arts, especially the seventh art, so the features of the cinematic image appeared in the narrative depth engraved on a large scale. Employing the visual image in the narrative has several effects, which are reflected in the movements of characters and objects in the narrative space, or the framing of scenes depicted by specific techniques. Zahran Al-Qasimi's novel "Al-Qafar's Alienation" is considered one of the most important novels in which the writer uses vocabulary related to the cinematic language. This study relies on the descriptive-analytical approach to reveal the common windows between the cinematic elements and the narrative text, through which junctures emerge that include vocabulary that characterizes both arts. From this point of view, this study aims to show the extent to which vocabulary and narrative paragraphs are subject to cinematic techniques, and to emphasize the two functions of the snapshot; Reading and visual and the reflection of the semiological connotations of them, so the results obtained from this convergence is the transcendence of the fictional text towards the narrative text. With this work, the writer may give the recipient the opportunity to enter into a visual world that adopts the idea of depicting the scene and directing it. The focus of this study revolves around five techniques that intersect with the written narrative. Action and reaction shot, witness Manuscript profile

This study proposed a theoretical framework based on “critical theory” of the sociology of art. This theory is based on Reaction hypothesis which shows the art as a mirror, reflects social characteristics of a given society. It involves descriptive and documentary research methods. The technique used in this study is the qualitative analysis of content. Our hypothesis suggested that there is a clear difference between the representation of women in respect to the contents and subjects in the movies before and after the Islamic Iran’s Revolution. The data showed that the representation of women in the Iranian cinema has been changed dramatically in the two periods i.e. before and after the second year of 1979 post years. These changes occurred due to the issues such as representation of women in modern movies, quality of jobs, type of clothing and veil, cultural-related products use, personal skills, dialogues contents, level of education, beliefs, language, mechanisms that lead to resolving personal and family problems and etc. The overall results indicated that shift in cultural policymaking of the Iranian Cinema led to a differing view about representation of women in Cinema after the Islamic Revolution of Iran. Literary works are valuable sources that manifest in various forms in different artistic areas. One of these areas is where literary texts are used in order to create films, a procedure known as adaptation. Adaptation here means using a written text partially or fully in order to create a visual text, and several scholars maintain that this procedure takes place in three ways, namely free, faithful, and word-for-word. Other approaches have also been put forward. The current research looks at adaptation, focusing on both the narrative text and the visual text. Considering the visual text, three approaches to cinematic adaptation have been introduced and illustrated with examples from the Iranian cinema. Considering the narrative text, two approaches to the analysis of adapted works have also been reviewed. The current paper aims to address the shortcomings of approaches to the analysis of adaptation and put forward a new perspective that gives more weight to the elements of the literary text. The highest correlation was observed in the visual Intelligibility of the two-sided type and the lowest correlation was observed in visual Intelligibility of the one-sided type. Access to physical information and spatial structure of historical contexts through photographs allows the study and comparison of the current situation with the previous era. Analysis of spatial and physical structure of the simulated model with space syntax software makes it possible to study architecture and spaces of historical contexts. Manuscript profile

In the works of Bahrām Beyzāii, sometimes structures and functions of myth, for example, the stereotype of hero, have been transformed. Some mythologists, like Joseph John Campbell in his book The Hero with a Thousand Faces, have extensively noticed role of hero and his journey. Campbell identifies ten stages in a hero’s journey, noting that all of the stages have to occur in every heroic story. But Bahrām Beyzāii changes this pattern with reducing the status of hero and raising the dignity of heroine. Ra’na in the film of Qaribé va Meh (1974 - The Stranger and the Fog), the wife of miller in the theater of Marg-e Yazdgerd (1979 - Death of Yazdgerd), Tārā in the film of Charike-ye Tārā (1979 - Ballad of Tārā), Khanoom Bouzrogh and Mahorukh in the film of Mosāferān (1992 - Travellers) and Golroukh in Sagkoshi (2001 - Killing Mad Dogs) wisly examine and salavage, and transformed into a heroine. So the role of myth and gender are brought into prominence in his works.     Manuscript profile

Having a predictive mathematical model regarding the sales potential of movies before the marketing and screening of movies is one of the needs of many producers, Cinema owners, etc. In this research, based on a systematic process and mixed exploratory approach, first the factors affecting the sales potential of movies were calculated and classified by content analysis method and by selecting the content factors of the film, i.e., the factors affecting the probability of pre-marketing and screening; The status of each of these factors in the top 100 films of a decade of Iranian cinema was examined. The required data were extracted from the statistical yearbook of Iranian film and cinema sales and based on Shannon entropy method and based on real data of 100 popular Iranian films, model coefficients were extracted and finally, a mathematical model to calculate the sales potential of a film up to Extracted before the marketing phase. The results of this study indicate that the 4 main factors of director (with coefficient of 0.25), actor (with coefficient of 0.253), genre (with coefficient of 0.251) and technical quality of film (with coefficient of 0.246) and a sub-factor of film series (with extra score) affect the sales potential of a movie.            The China's stunning economic growth in the past few decades has increased the likelihood of emerging a global superpower. However, in most researches, the importance of non-material dimensions of power has been neglected. Undoubtedly Concentration on the material dimensions of power has flaws and certainly it does not yield a comprehensive account of analysis. Thus the idea of "soft power" that was suggested by Joseph Nye would be required to fill gaps in this realm of research. Accordingly, one of the cultural resources of soft power is definitely cinema. Undoubtedly, cinema as strong tool of soft power plays a great role in propagating and shaping of norms and values. In this sense, film can be aligned with the values of others and play a major role in a country's international objectives. So, In this paper, we  try to survey the  cinema  (as a  tool of soft power) in America and China. Manuscript profile
