City parks embody regions covered with plants that capture in and around cities, with two eminent functions including temperature adjustment, weather moderation and beauty. Due to the lack of green spaces per capita and its inappropriate distribution in mashhad metropoli the current study tends to draw more attention toward evaluating and prioritizing the existing parks in the region 13th mashhad metropolis. The indicators such as Facilities, beauty, security, access, distribution-scattering, space and the use of the TOPSIS model have been discussed. The descriptive-analytical research method was based on field survey with emphasis on the practical aspect and data collection. The results of the research findings show; among the 13 parks in the samen region of mashhad metropolis; the only park is omurshahr that its desirability and quality indicators have been upgraded to some extent. Also, the results of the TOPSIS model indicate that the park of the Amurshahr with score 0/993, shahid fahmideh park with score 0/773, mir park 0/625 places the highest. Eidgah alley with score 0/240 and javidan park 0/185 and bah al-tolieh park 0/140 have the lowest quality and desirability. Manuscript profile

The application of sustainability theory, as one of the new approaches, has enjoyed the spotlight among many of urban pioneers and scholars. This research intends to study the possibility of utilizing the sustainability theory in an executive framework and its direct application in urban plans. In this regard, the location allocation viewpoint of Office Parks, as one of significant executive policies in Iranian provincial authorities, is evaluated. The research method is divided in two stages. The first stage is comprised of a descriptive method in identifying the meanings and epistemology of sustainable development as well as office park approaches. Then in second stage the research introduces some indicators in both approaches and evaluates them using a comparative method. Four criteria of economic, environmental, physical, and social considerations are compared in two approaches. Ultimately, the result reveals a satisfactory accordance in almost all of the criteria within the sustainability and office park viewpoints. The highest conformity is in environmental considerations and the least is defined in physical features. Notwithstanding, there are some executive limitations that are highlighted in this research. It is believed that by removing of those barriers the optimum benefit can be achieved in the allocation of office parks. Manuscript profile

Background and Objectives:Calculation of biodiversity indices of urban birds in Tehran in order to better understand the environmental conditions and improve or modify seems necessary. The aim of this study was to calculate the indicators of richness, biodiversity and bird uniformity in Tehran as a case study in the parks of the city, Mellat, Jamshidia and Ghaem. Methods: In this study, the birds were recorded by point counting and the indices were calculated using Ecological Methodology software.Finding: A total of 3723 birds were observed in 40 species of 8 orders and 19 families. 75% of all recorded species belonged to Passeriformes and among them the number of House Sparrows. Although the Ghaem park had the largest area among studied parks, had the least species richness and diversity and was the most abundance. The Shar park the oldest Tehran urban park located in the densely populated of the city, with the highest richness and species diversity and the lowest abundance, compared to the other parks.Discussion and Conclusion: The birds registered in the studied parks were mostly owned by the Passeriformes and half of them were native to Tehran. The area of the above boats does not necessarily mean that the birds are more diverse. According to the findings gathered in Park-e- Shahr located in the city center, We found out despite the presence of dense texture, the suitable space existed, attraction and capturing the birds were observed. The results of this research can provide an opportunity to study the factors affecting urban biodiversity indices and help environmental researchers, managers and urban planners to design a suitable green space to protect biodiversity and attract birds as one of the health habitat indicators and improve citizen’s quality of life. Background and objectives: The increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide in recent years has led to increased global warming and climate change. Carbon sequestration in tree, vegetation and subsoil cover is the simplest and most economically viable way to reduce atmospheric carbon. Therefore, this study was conducted to evaluate the amount of carbon sequestration of tree cover and soil in two urban parks of Kuhdasht (Shaghayegh and Shahid Beheshti parks). Methods: In order to achieve the desired goal, the trees of both parks were surveyed. Also, soil samples were collected at two depths of 0 to 15 and 15 to 30 cm from inside the park and land free of vegetation adjacent to the park (as a control) and prepared for relevant analyzes.Discussion and Conclusion: The results showed that the amount of soil carbon sequestration at depths of 0 to 15 and 15 to 30 cm in Shaghayegh Park and its control area were 107.7, 251.65, 23.52 and 45.48 tons, respectively. In hectares of Shahid Beheshti Park and its control area, 11.93, 20.83, 32.05 and 53.13 tons per hectare were significantly higher (P <0.01), respectively. Density and variability in tree cover mixing also had a significant effect on the amount of sediment carbon (sycamore 53.13, Mashhad pine 31.32, Tehran pine 32.05 and ball acacia 12.81 tons per hectare). In general, the carbon sequestration of Shaghayegh Park is more than Shahid Beheshti Park, and among the main reasons are soil texture (clay), high density and variety of tree cover, as well as proximity to the asphalt access road. Background and Objective: Increasing industrial activities in and around cities causes many environmental problems and threatens human health. These days, one of the main problems with cities results from urban fringe industrial activities in these areas. This issue can be seen especially in big cities, so that naturally efficient landscapes can be seen only a long distance from these cities. The main problems in such areas are pollution, landscape fragmentation, land structure deformation, and decrease in natural mechanisms. Method: In order to come up with solutions to these problems, some strategies, policies and practices are required. In this regard, landscape planning and design can play an important role. Using the concept of ecology in industrial development has generated the concept of industrial ecosystem based on natural ecosystem patterns and processes. Following this analogy, the conceptual strategies of an eco-industrial network, which is an organized form of the industrial ecosystem, can greatly help us to overcome these problems. Findings: This research investigates the concepts of industrial ecology and eco-industrial networks and applies those concepts to the environmental rehabilitation of an existing industrial area in northwestern industrial area of Mashhad and Chenaran Industrial state. Results and Discussion: In this regard, we have tried to consider this concept in various scales of landscape. Finally, using conceptual plans, strategies for improving the quality of landscape and environment in this area have been provided. Manuscript profile

Introduction: Sound comfort is an essential aspect of physical comfort of urban parks. In this research in order to demonstrate a method for evaluating the acoustic comfort questionnaire surveyed، and noise emission levels were measured in 30 points distributed in five parks included Mellat, Saei, Laleh, Shahr and Besat parks in Tehran. Methods: LAeq (equivalent continues noise level) LAFmax, LAFmin, LA10, LA50 and LA90 were measured and calculated. Moreover، intensive questionnaire surveyed acoustic comfort based on the quality and sound source. Results: The sound level at most of the points evaluated 63dB in the parks exceeded the 55 dB(A). Perception of sound sources within the Soundscape was found to be a better predictor of Soundscape quality than measured sound levels. The results of the research clearly indicate the level of discomfort or comfort of a population is not necessarily connected only to sound levels، but includes other factors in the environment and in the receiver himself. Conclusion: The results show the space planning، distance from main city roads, green belt around park’s boundary and music player’s position considerably affect acoustic comfort in the urban parks.   Manuscript profile

This article attempts to investigate the first major dramatic work of Suzan-Lori Parks from a new angle in suggesting the writer, like the Persian Shahrzad story-teller with interwoven stories/plays, narrates, through a Parksian labyrinthine folding structure, the lost history of African subordinated and discarded by History. Having a Deleuzo-baroquean perspective, this study explores the imperceptible or less-known aspects of her drama that have been muted throughout the White mythological historicism. She portrays, on her neo-baroquean canvas, an amalgamation of myth, music, and performance, while her figures, dis-figured by the dominant discourse, become the schizophrenic bodies that subvert the ruling system in a rhizomatic manner. Moreover, her polyphonic lines of flight in the form of Jazz syncopation, contrapuntally, recite the saga of African-American oppressions. In the end, it is concluded that Parks, as a female African-American playwright, has distinguished her dramatic works from her contemporaneous by designating the Deleuzo-baroquean plateau in her first play, a tool for subverting and undermining the dominant discourse, in the trajectory of Shahrzad's flight to save her dramatic life. Performance analysis is a crucial requirement in the development of Science and Technology Parks. Having employed both qualitative and quantitative techniques, this mix-method developmental and applied study was undertaken to analyze the performance of knowledge-based firms in Science and Technology Parks based on the performance evaluation model. The model system used was designed based on a sound review of the theoretical background, documentary analysis and interviews with 17 experts in the field. To evaluate the model and the status quo, a fieldwork questionnaire was distributed among 260 experts and managers in Tehran Science and Technology Parks. The collected data were analyzed via Structural Equation Modeling. The results of the interviews revealed that the experts identified the system model as the best model for assessing the performance of knowledge-based companies; this template was developed in the form of inputs, processes and outputs along with related indicators which were further evaluated. At the stage of pathology, the identified variables were scrutinized among which Human Resource Management (HRM) was found to be less efficiently functioning compared to other variables. HRM comprises employment of qualified human resources and adequately maintaining and organizing them to facilitate cooperation, which were found to be far from adequacy. The findings offer some implications for effective management of Science and Technology Parks. Manuscript profile

AbstractIn addition to enabling the relationship between city dwellers and nature, urban parks enhance social interactions, and even affect the social functions of adjacent public spaces. Factors affecting the social functions of urban parks can be divided into two categories; internal features such as the size, facilities and physical characteristics of the park; and external features, i.e. the park's relationship with the surrounding public spaces. This article examines the two Tonekabon urban parks, which are markedly different in terms of these characteristics, to explain how these distinctive features affect their social functioning. This is a descriptive study and data collection was done by survey and field observation. The statistical sample includes 400 park users, which are selected exclusively from the residents of this city, and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, t-test, correlation and regression were used to analyze quantitative data. According to the findings, the higher the relationship between parks and activities in the surrounding public spaces, the higher their security and vitality. In the Javan Park, the effect of the interrelationships of the parks with the surrounding activities and public spaces on user satisfaction, and in the Madar Park, the effect of physical quality and facilities on user satisfaction is higher. Although the social functions of urban parks are influenced by various physical factors and characteristics, but parks are integral part of public spaces and activities in it, and even the effectiveness of these factors and characteristics is more influenced by the specific spatial-social context in which the functions of the park are performed. Suzan-Lori Parks, as a female black playwright, in her postmodern drama, Venus, has portrayed the condition of living of a black South African girl, subjugated under the hegemonic power of dominant colonizers. Saartje Bartmann, later renamed as Venus Hottentot, is seduced and then exploited by the colonizing power, both men and women. In the process of being sent from Africa to Europe, she is being watched, performing ritual dance and then, scrutinized by the colonizers. In this regard, the present study aims to read Venus by borrowing a different perspective from Deleuzean terminology to clarify and open up the less-discussed and investigated aspects of Parks’s drama to conclude that Venus’s slavery narrative, resembling a Deleuzean Watched without Organs, while entails a process of becoming different and against the dominant power, a schizoid person. It can be inferred as a form of Parksean resistance against the dominant metanarratives and creating her own mini-narrative.
