Background and Objective: Today, due to the occurrence of environmental crises, having environmental knowledge and attitude for students, considering their effective role in society, is essential. Environmental knowledge increases sensitivity to environmental issues, and environmental attitudes lead to active participation in environmental protection, as it reinforces values and concerns about the environment. So the main goal of this study is to investigate the environmental knowledge and attitude levels of Payame Noor students.Material and Methodology:  The statistical population consists of all the students of the Lavasanat, Tehran Jonoob and Shahr Rey units of Tehran Payame Noor university (N=12306). Based on Krejcie and Morgan's table, a sample of 385 students was chosen and data was collected based on a standardized three-part questionnaire (demographic, knowledge, attitude) that was used in similar studies and its validity has been confirmed by the experts in the field and Cronbach's alpha for reliability assessment for knowledge and attitude items were 0.70 and 0.81 respectively.Findings: Based on the results, students' environmental knowledge is at a high level and their environmental attitude is at the desired level. The variables of age and marital status are significantly correlated with the level of students' knowledge and attitudes, while there is no significant correlation between the variables of gender, field of study and academic unit with the level of knowledge and attitudes. The results also indicate that there is a significant positive correlation between environmental knowledge and attitudes.Discussion and Conclusion: The high level of environmental knowledge and attitude of the students under study can have a significant impact on their environmental behavior and lead to responsible environmental behavior. Introduction: In recent years environmental issues have received greater attention within academic circles and society and the environment has become a major social issue for larger numbers of people than ever before. So the role of gender in environmental orientation is emphasized. Among various theories of the environmental sociology eco-feminism theory argues that there is a difference in environmental attitudes and behavior in favor of women. Goal: This study will investigate whether a potential difference of environmental attitudes between men and women could be explained by eco-feminism theory? Method: In this research، environmental attitude has been evaluated based on the Dunlap and Van-Liere (1978) scale. Methodologically survey method was applied with cluster sampling method to choose the samples. The main tool for collecting data was questionnaire. Results: Overall, the results showed that surveyed samples received a high score in environmental attitudes and gender has not a significant influence on people’s environmental attitudes. Hence eco-feminism theory that focuses on the further supporting of women towards environmental issues was not confirmed experimentally. This could be due to the absence of differences in the socialization of men and women in Iran. Manuscript profile

Abstract Background and objective: Increasing environmental issues and crises in the world have highlighted the importance of discussions on environment and environmental issues.Since awareness-rising requires training and environmental training is the most fundamental way for environmental protection. The present study attempts to investigate the effect of environmental training on changing the students’ environmental attitude and environmental knowledge about environmental protection. Method: The used methodology was quasi-experimental and the statistical population included all the 2nd-grade high school female students in District 4 of Ahvaz. The study sample consisted of 180 individuals who were selected based on random cluster sampling. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire and data analysis was performed using SPSS 21 software. Findings: Results obtained from comparison of three levels of attitude, behavior and knowledge in the experimental and control groups showed that there was no significant difference between averages points in the two groups before educational intervention. However a signification difference was observed in the students’ knowledge (P=0/021), attitude (P=0/042) and behavior (P<0/001) after educational intervention. Discussion and conclusion: The results show that theoretical and practical educations have a positive effect on attitude, knowledge and behavior of students towards environmental protection. Therefore, it seems that appropriate education of 2nd-geade high school students not only raises their awareness of environmental protection and efficient use of natural resources and the environment, but also paves the way for employing them as experts in the future to reduce environmental problems and crises. The present study was carried out with purpose of assessing the environmental knowledge, attitudes and responsible behavior of Kermanshah´s Payame Noor University (PNU) students. This research is the result from a field, cross sectional & descriptive study. The instruments of information gathering included a questionnaire consisting of 30 questions in three categories of environmental knowledge, attitudes and responsible behaviors. The statistical community included 15200 students from PNUs of Kermanshah Province, among which 375 questionnaires were distributed randomly using Morgan Table. Finally 340 questionnaires were completed and collected. The validity and reliability of the questionnaires were approved by the members of scientific board of Kermanshah PNU and Cronbach's Alpha coefficient respectively. Data were analyzed using Excel Software.  The results indicate that the environmental information of the responders has been weak regarding the knowledge about environmental communities together with the area of their activities, the extinct animal species of Iran as well as sustainable development and its relationship with environment and national parks of Iran. On the other hand, the responders’ information has been satisfying about acid rains, Ozone layer, air pollutant gases, soil erosion and also roles and values of trees and forests. The increasing production of urban waste is one of the most important problems of cities all over the world. An effective solution in this field is to improve citizens' environmental behavior such as waste recycling. This survey by means of the planned behavior theory, examines the waste recycling and the factors affecting it in the city of Abadan. The research population consisted of  people aged 15 and over of which 395 were selected using the multi-stage random sampling method. Research instruments for measuring waste recycling, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control were the researcher-made questionnaires, and to measure environmental attitudes, the New Environmental Paradigm scale prepared by Dunlop et al (2000) was employed. Based on the research findings, the relationship between environmental attitudes and subjective norms with waste recycling is positive and significant. Perceived behavior control in the internal dimension has a positive and significant relationship with waste recycling, but in the external dimension, this relationship is negative and significant. The waste recycling based on the educational groups is significantly different but the waste recycling among men and women, as well as single and married people, does not show a significant difference. Moreover, the results of the multivariate regression analysis showed that the independent variables are able to explain 0.28 of the variance of the dependent variable, among which the environmental attitudes had the largest contribution.   Manuscript profile

Although the outbreak of corona disease initially had positive environmental consequences, over time, the dramatic increase in corona disease became a serious threat to the environment. Accordingly, using a qualitative grounded theory approach, the present study has analyzed the environmental behavior in the face of corona waste (residues) among the residents of the city of Boroujerd who were over 18 years of age. The sample consisted of 26 people who were purposefully selected. The method of data collection was in-depth interview. During the three stages of coding the text of the interviews, the paradigm model of Grounded Theory was finally extracted. Also, in order to validate the research, the method of "members' credibility" and to measure the reliability, the method of "internal agreement" has been used. The results showed that the two factors "prevention mechanisms" and "treatment mechanisms" have caused the phenomenon of "coronal waste generation" and after its occurrence,  actors’ "environmental behavior" was manifested in one of the following types: 1) environment Friendly (responsible), 2) un-environmentalist (careless) and 3) anti-environmental (vandalistic). Intervening conditions were: 1) personality traits of the individual (environmental commitment and sensitivity), 2) social characteristics of the individual (environmental orientations and attitudes), 3) socialization (Environmental knowledge and awareness), 4) Culturalization (environmental norms and values), 5) Government policies (Environmental trust and belonging). Finally, the environmental behavior of actors has two consequences: 1) positive: environmental purification and 2) negative: environmental pollution Manuscript profile
