Diabetes is a chronic disease that has many effects on individual and social performance. The purpose of this study was to compare self-compassion, cognitive flexibility and sense of coherence in people with diabetes and healthy people. The method of this research is causal-comparative. The statistical population of this study included all outpatient diabetic women patients referring to clinics and treatment centers. From this society, 50 subjects were selected by convenience sampling and compared with 50 healthy subjects. Self-compassion, cognitive flexibility and sense of coherence were used to collect data and data were analyzed by multivariate analysis of variance. The results of the data analysis showed that there is a significant difference between self-compassion, cognitive flexibility and sense of coherence in people with diabetes and healthy subjects. According to the findings, self-compassion and cognitive flexibility are among the most important factors for better management of chronic diseases and as psychosocial adaptation increases, with stressful events of life and higher levels of performance and life satisfaction, it affects self-care behaviors and quality of life in patients.
