About the journal
Journal of Health and Psychology is the official scientific journal of the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology (Faculty of Medical Sciences – Islamic Azad University – Karaj Branch) and has been publishing high-quality, innovative research since 2011. The official languages of the journal are English and Farsi.
This Journal was published for the first time with the permission of the Central Organization of Islamic Azad University in 2011 and was stopped after three issues. And since 2023, it continued publishing its issues from the fourth issue. And currently, the publication is approved by the Islamic Azad University and has a publishing license from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. And soon it will go towards obtaining the points of the Ministry of Science and Health.
The Journal of Health and Psychology was founded to provide a platform for the increasing amount of research in the field of health psychology and for its application in a wide range of contexts and strives to promote theory and practice in the analysis of psychological approaches to health and disease. It devoted to furthering an understanding of scientific relationships between behavioral principles on the one hand and physical health and illness on the other. The readership has a broad range of backgrounds, interests, and specializations, often interdisciplinary in nature.
the journal’s mission is to advance basic to translational science, policy, and practice to significantly impact population health. The aim is therefore to publish high quality empirical or experimental research as well as sound practice-oriented articles, current methodological developments, and comprehensive critical reviews of the scientific literature.
The major type of paper being solicited for Health Psychology is the report of empirical research but review article may be accepted. Such papers should have significant theoretical or practical import for an understanding of relationships between behavior, cognition, emotions and health. Integrative and interdisciplinary papers that address themselves to a broad constituency are particularly welcome. Suitable topics for submission include, but are not restricted to, the role of biological, environmental, psychosocial, or socio-cultural factors that may contribute to disease or its prevention; behavioral methods used in the diagnosis, treatment, or rehabilitation of individuals having physical and or mental disorders; and techniques that could reduce disease risk by modifying health beliefs, attitudes, or behaviors including decisions about using professional services. Interventions used may be at the individual, group, multicenter, or community level.
