        Purpose: The purpose of this research was to study the reference desk content of the central libraries of top universities affiliated to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology Methodology: In this study, the central library websites of top universities in Iran were investigated. First, these universities were investigated in terms of having digital reference desk services. Then the content of digital reference desks of those universities was analized.  Results: Among the 72 universities which had been investigated, 31 universities had digital reference desk services. Shahed University had the highest percentage of compliance with Features of digital reference desk services and then was Tarbiat Modaress University. Generally, all the libraries had 7/73% of the Compliance with Features of digital reference desk services. Conclusion: There is a correlation between the universities degrees and the Compliance with Features of digital reference desk services. Manuscript profile

        Purpose: The present study examined the rate of burnout in librarians of  University of Isfahan and its relationship with demographic factors. Methodology: The population consists of 61 librarians of University of Isfahan, the census method was used and questionnaire was delivered to all of them and 57 copies were returned. Findings: The findings showed that burnout in librarians in Personal Performance (frequency and intensity) is at average level and emotional exhaustion and depersonalization is low. The findings in demographic characteristics also showed that there is relationship between job burnout and sex (frequency of emotional exhaustion), degree (intensity of depersonalization), field of study (intensity and frequency of emotional exhaustion), and there is no relationship between job burnout and age, years of service, and position.  Conclusions: Considering the results, the officials and managers should consider the measurements to consider burnout in librarians who have an important duty to help teachers and students Manuscript profile

        Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the additional services offered in public libraries of Tehran affiliated to the Iran Public Libraries Foundation. The study also sought to determine the role of these services in promoting library membership and reading among the youth. Method: The study was a mixed-method one. The research population comprised 38 public libraries in Tehran. Using a questionnaire, a 150 young children were selected and interviews were conducted with the managers of 38 libraries . A checklist was also used to collect the data concerning the type of services offered in libraries. Findings: The results showed that different types of additional services were offered in the public libraries including teaching Qoran, reading and painting competitions, story writing, book fairs, film and cartoon screening, music performance and storytelling. Most of the advertising were done through the schools. The most popular services were teaching Qoran, film screening, music performance and painting competitions. The most satisfactory services were teaching Qoran. Conclusion: Some of the barriers in offering these services were the lack of trained staff, lack of budget and facilities. Most librarians maintained that additional services were effective in absorbing children to libraries. Overall, the level of additional services in public libraries was not satisfactory Manuscript profile

        Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between cultural intelligence and knowledge management in public libraries of the Khuzestan province. Method: This study was conducted by descriptive survey method. The research population consists of librarians in public libraries in Khuzestan that were 230 totally and sample of 145 librarians were determined based on Krejcie-Morgan table by stratified random sampling method. In order to measure each of the variables, a separate questionnaire was used. To measure cultural intelligence four factors  Vndayn and stigma (Van Dyne & Ang, 2004) questionnaire  was used. Knowledge management instrument is a questionnaire that extracted from the questionnaire of Khargani and Selseleh research (1385) with some changes to meet the objectives of this study. To investigate the questions, simple and multiple regression and Pearson correlation coefficients were used. Findings: The findings showed a positive correlation between cultural intelligence and knowledge management.  Meanwhile, of cultural intelligence dimensions (cognitive, meta-cognitive, motivational and behavioral) , two dimensions of meta cognitive and cognitive had positive and significant relationship with knowledge management.         Purpose: Nowadays Internet play an important role in the process of information searching. This new technology has create the new shape of anxiety with itself which is called internet anxiety that a few researches has worked about it. The aim of this study is to identify the Internet anxiety rate of postgraduate students of shiraz & medical science of Shiraz universities. Methodology: research methodology is analytical survey and the research population is comprised of 5702 graduate students with degree of M.A. in shiraz & medical science of shiraz universities. The volume of sampling was 442 person. Sampling method is randomly by category & data collection instrument, is the questionnaire which one research which validity & reliability of it formerly measured. Findings: The survey of extent of Internet anxiety of respondents showed that most of them 73/8 percent of them is lower than normal (60 ) had internet anxiety, but internet anxiety distribution in the studied society was normal. Conclusion: Research results showed the significant difference between Internet anxiety mean & normal mark of internet anxiety (60 mark) and determined that the anxiety of them is significantly lower than normal scale in the society. Also, it was shown that the significant difference between Internet anxiety mean of male & females students & Internet anxiety mean of female students is more than male students, but did not show significant difference between internet anxiety mean of studied academic areas students.         Purpose: This research examined library anxiety among students of Literature and Humanities college in Qom University and compared it in the following categories: Gender, education level (graduate and post-graduate), major (LIS and non-LIS) and the use and the lack of library use  prior to entering the university. Method: The sample included  225 students.The research instrument was a refined version of the Bostick's original library anxiety scale including 35 statements. Frequency distribution and independent t-test were used in order to analyze the data. Findings: Findings indicated that the total mean of library anxiety in the researched group was 88.76. The results of the independent t-test showed that library anxiety scores were higher in women than men students and in the non-LIS major students were significantly higher than in LIS. However, the mean anxiety scores were not significantly different in students who had benefitted the library prior to entering the university and those who had not. There was no significant difference in the varios educational levels. Furthermore, this significance was only associated with physical barriers and no significant difference was reported in other factors affecting the library anxiety. Conclusion: Studying library anxiety is important because the students need to use the library for selecting research subjects, and gathering data for doing their studies and conducting their dissertations. Library anxiety can have negative effect on their educational performance and quantity and quality of their scientific productions. Manuscript profile

        Purpose: This research seeks to evaluate the quality of services provided in the library and information center of Imam Sadegh (pbuh) University through using LibQual tool. Method: This study uses descriptive survey method. Research population consists of 3454 members of the library from which 346 persons were chosen as sample size using simple random way. To analyze the data, SPSS software was used. Results: In meeting the needs of users, the Library and Information Center had an average performance. In other words, users' demands have been met, but with minimum and maximum acceptable level. Conclusions: Amongst the items of the research, items 22 (accessibility to e-resources from the home and the workplace), 2 (attention to all users one by one), 8 (help to them by staff), and 10 (availability of the suitable studying and team learning place in the library), are considered the weakest points of the center, while items 16 (easy and single accessibility to information), 17 (availability of series of published and e-journals), 19 (the calm space for personal acts), and 12 (availability of published resources) are the strongest ones.         Purpose: The aim of this study was to find out the usability of Islamic thesaurus-based offline databases based on ISO 9241 and ISO 16982. Methods: The research was applied through an analytical survey method. The Statistical population contains 30 researchers of Islamic sciences. To gather information and collect data, the questionnaire technique were used. Findings: The researchers were answered the questions about Figh principles databaseswith the following rating: to those related to criterion “navigation”, 52/2% responded "yes", 33/1% responded "approximately" and 19/5% answered "no" and about questions relating to the criterion "search", 40/7% responded yes, 35/2% responded approximately, and 28/9% answered “no”. About Quranic science database the answers related to criterion “navigation”, have this rating: 53/7% responded "yes", 29/5% responded "approximately" and 21/2% answered "no", and about the criterion "search", 46/8% responded "yes", 26/6% responded "approximately", 27/9% answered "no". Conclusion: From the viewpoint of the researchers, the databases examined support almost half of the features of the search and navigation criteria and the other half should be considered for improving the usability.
