The goal of the study was to investigate the effect of resilience and psychological hardiness on mental health of mothers of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and to determine the contribution of each of the predicting variables in predicting mental health. The statistical population of this descriptive-correlation study included all the mothers who consecutively referred to the child and adolescent psychiatric clinics of shahid Modares, Noor, Farabi & shahid Rajaii hospitals in Isfahan city that had at least one child with clinically diagnosed ADHD, aged between 6 to 12 years old. 141 mothers were selected through convenience sampling method. Research tools included the questionnaire of Goldberg & Hillier’s General Health (1979), Connor & Davidson’s resilience (2003) and Kobasa’s Hardiness (1982). Stepwise multiple regression analysis used for statistical analysis. The research results showed that hardiness and resilience were able to predict mental health significantly (p<0.001). In this research resilience was the best predictor of mental health. The findings indicate that hardiness and resilience are important and fundamental in the preservation and promotion of mental health in mothers of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The two mentioned variables are able to explain the high rate of mental health variation and considering them in mental health is essential. Manuscript profile

ADHD causes multiple problems for many students, affecting their cognitive, social, emotional and familial performance and their professional and conjugal performance during adulthood. Furthermore, the parents of children suffering from ADHD experience a great deal of mental pressure and are seen to undergo depression, feeling of restriction, increased frustration, decreased capability and self-confidence as well as conjugal disputes. The aim of the present work is to study the effect of training parents how to control child's behavior on reduced symptoms of ADHD, improved child's behavior and on decreased proclivity to suffer from depression in the mothers of children suffering from ADHD. For this purpose, students aged suffering from ADHD with a history of referrals to the counselling and mental health centers in Sari were selected purposefully on the basis of clinical interviews and their responses on SNAP-IV questionnaire. Subsequently, the sample subjects were matched for age, gender, and education and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. On the sessions training for child-control skills within the experimental group, only mothers were trained for hours in accordance with Barclay's and forhand's programs. However, the control group received no training through to the end of the posttest. Manuscript profile

The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of virtual reality with neurofeedback on attention deficit of students with attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder. The research method was quasi-experimental with pretest, posttest, control and follow up design. The statistical population consisted of 7-12 years-old elementary school students with attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder in Isfahan city in the school year of 1397-98 from which 48 subjects purposely selected based on entrance criteria and randomly assigned into virtual reality, neurofeedback and control groups (each 16 students). The SNAP-4 Parent Form (1981) was completed to measure students' attention deficit by their mothers. The virtual reality experiment group received 10 three-minute sessions of virtual reality software intervention and the neurofeedback experiment group received 30 neurofeedback sessions of 45 minutes each. The control group received no intervention. Then, post-test and after two months, follow-up measure were done. The results showed that virtual reality and neurofeedback are effective in improving attention, their effects are persistent in the follow-up phase, and the difference between the mean of the experimental and the control groups is significant (p <0.001). The obtained results show that virtual reality and neurofeedback are effective in improving the attention of affected students in both stages and the difference between virtual reality and neurofeedback groups is not significant (p <0.05). Within the field of second language learning, the need to provide equal access to L2 education has directed modern educators’ attention to the potentials of Dynamic Assessment (DA) for students with learning disabilities. The purpose of the present single case study was to explore the effects of interactionist DA on ADHD L2 learners’ knowledge of vocabulary and working memory capacity. A 13-year-old female EFL learner with the combined type of ADHD voluntarily participated in this study as an elementary student. During each session, a few new vocabulary items were taught through providing mediations relying on a regulatory scale from the most implicit to the most explicit emerging from the interactions between the mediator and the learner. The microgenetic analysis of DA protocols led to the development of an inventory of mediations consisting of different forms of implicit and explicit prompts. The results of the study demonstrated that DA could contribute to the learner’s vocabulary knowledge with a number of fluctuations in some DA sessions, while it did not improve her working memory capacity. The findings of this study provide further insight into teachers’ perception of how ADHD learners can learn an L2 and, at the same time, call for policy makers’ and materials developers’ greater attention to the progressive mediations required to help ADHD learners develop a higher level of self-regulation functioning through dialogic and social interactions. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurological and psychiatric disorder which causes to attention deficit, anxiety, hyperactivity and impulsive behaviors. ADHD is more common in children and directly leads to their learning disability. The aim of this study was to accurately identify ADHD patients by using wavelet-based features of brain signals (EEG). Recorded EEG signals from 61 children with ADHD (diagnosed according to the DSM-IV criteria) and 60 healthy controls in the age range of 7-12 years were used to design the system. In the proposed method by applying wavelet transform, EEG signals were decomposed into subbands; for the time version of the signals in each subband, the temporal and statistical features were calculated. The reduced feature set by principal component analysis (PCA) method was then used to train the classification unit to identify ADHD patients from healthy individuals. To obtain the desired results, different types of wavelet functions and decomposition levels were investigated. The bior3.1 wavelet function with the support vector machine (SVM) classifier and the rbio1.1 wavelet function with the k-nearest neighbor (kNN) classifier presented the best performance with the recognition accuracy of 98.33% and 99.17%, respectively. The SVM classification method with radial basis kernel function (RBF) and the kNN method with the number of nearest neighbors, k = 3 obtained the best results. The results obtained in this study compared to the results reported in previous studies showed at least a 2% improvement in the recognition accuracy of ADHD patients. Qira’at and Rasm al-Mushaf are one of the factors of understanding, researching and reading the Holy Quran, that affect and effect on each other. They have always been considered as challenging subjects of Quranic sciences. Although, the Quran attributed to the Ahl al-Bayt (P.B.U.Th) are among Shawadhdh Qira’at, but because of their attribution to the Ahl al-Bayt(P.B.U.Th) and interpretive aspects are of particular importance. From the perspective of Ibn al-Jazari, one of the conditions of the authenticity of the Qira’at is the conformity of Rasm al-Mushaf with at least one of the Masahef al-Amsar, even if possible. The question is that how much the Qira’at attributed to the Ahl al-Bayt (P.B.U.Th) corresponds to this condition. The research method of this paper is descriptive-analytical- case study using written sources of these sciences. This study focuses on 500 Qira’at attributed to Ahl al-Bayt (P.B.U.Th) . At the first glance, among these Qira’at, 312 are completely in accordance with the Rasm al-Mushaf and 188 are considered as opposed to the Rasm . However, in re-examining through seven methods of achievement of this paper, 55 other Qira’at, according to the Ibn al-Jazari's viewpoint are considered in accordance with the Rasm al-Mushaf. Problems related to Attention-deficit/ hyperactivity in adults doesn't reveal itself due to graduating school or college and choosing a job that doesn't need long term or precise focus and because of this people have fewer complaints in this regard. But it doesn't mean that their Attention-deficit/ hyperactivity symptoms improved. Because if they were in a situation requiring long term or precise focus they will have difficulties, and at the same time, they may experience a variety of mental and behavioral problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between distress tolerance, mind wandering, sleep quality and quantity with Attention-deficit/ hyperactivity symptom severity in adults. Samples of this study included 90 adults with Attention-deficit/ hyperactivity symptoms that were chosen by Convenience Sampling and evaluated for mind wandering, distress tolerance and sleep quality and quantity. Analyzing multiple regressions results showed that Attention-deficit/ hyperactivity symptom severity was positively correlated with mind wandering and had negative correlations with Distress Tolerance and sleep quality and quantity, regression analysis showed that mind wandering predicts overall 42% of adults Attention-deficit/ hyperactivity symptom severity and distress tolerance and sleep quality and quantity also predicted 35% and 15% of Attention-deficit/ hyperactivity symptom severity in adults. Results indicate that we can predict ADHD symptom severity by measuring mind wandering, distress tolerance and sleep quality and quantity. Manuscript profile
