It has offered a suitable model for university social responsibility through analysis of previous studies and comparative study of institutional research functions of sample universities. Document analysis has been used to collect data. Descriptive analytic and correlational-comparative methods have been used for data analysis. Aspects of social responsibility (educational, cognitive, economic, institutional, and social) and aspects of IR (communication, information authority, policy analysis, research and decision making, evaluation, responsibility) have been identified. Consequently, the study has proposed a conceptual model for the role of institutional research in facilitating social responsibility. Manuscript profile
