Quality of life as one of the basic concepts in the studies of sustainable development is used in various sciences in objective and subjective aspects and has recently entered the Urban Development debates, too. Studies related to this concept differ in several aspects such as the scale of study, scopes, and methods of measurement used in the assessment of the quality of life, as different methods have been used for the study of the life quality in urban districts. However, no comprehensive framework has yet been presented for the study of life quality based on physical, local and social indices. On the other hand, the quality of life is often measured by using subjective and objective indices, and rarely by using them both. Subjective indices are obtained from surveys of perceptions, evaluations and life satisfaction of urban residents, while objective indices are related to observable facts often obtained from secondary data. In addition, theories and empirical studies of quality of life in its present form have mainly originated from Western societies. The studies in developing countries are significantly low. Similarly, major factors affecting the life quality in developing countries have not been clearly identified. Many attempts have been made in the past three decades to measure the quality of life around the world. Researchers and different institutions have proposed various indices, but it seems that the advantages and disadvantages of each of these indices have not been evaluated by a certain method. Objective indices are measured on the basis of abundance or physical quantities such as income, but subjective indices are measured qualitatively based on psychological responses such as job satisfaction and happiness. Traditionally, in recent past, GDP was used as the only reliable indicator of well-being and economic development. However, there is a broad consensus that the increase in GDP does not necessarily improve the life quality. At present, one of the measurements of life quality has been the Human Development Index used by the United Nations since 1990 which is based on three factors of life expectancy at birth, academic success and real per capita GDP. In this study, we have tried to define the quality of life in the four neighborhoods of HosseiniFerdos, Tolidarou, Behdasht and North Valiasr by using descriptive and analytical methods to present a conceptual model. Indices used for the measurement of the life quality include the quality of the physical environment, quality of the economic environment, quality of the social environment and the quality of communication and transportation. Library documents and field methods were used to collect data based on the answers given to the questions in the questionnaires by 390 people age 16 to 65 in the above-mentioned neighborhoods selected through classification. Dimensions considered in this study are based on the American vision of mental aspects, and SPSS and Amos software were used for the analysis of data. The results indicate that the rate of mental quality in these neighborhoods are below average and it shows the life quality in these areas. Manuscript profile

Among different types of housing, high-rises construction is considered by many architects and urban planners as one of the most common types, especially after the industrial revolution and advancements in engineering techniques. Construction of tall buildings from its beginning as a result of modern architecture, for reasons like speed of construction (industrialization), high density (accommodation of more people) etc. grew considerably, but gradually it caused other types of problems including mere consideration of performance, less human interaction, and etc. on the one hand, today, any lack of attention to social interactions in designing process has been changed into one of the major challenges at residential complexes. On the other hand, we have establishment of residential complexes as an effect of population increase, expensive price of land and also economic benefits in our country which may cause further changes in structure of residential spaces and omission of interacted spaces from Iranian architecture. The results are lack of responding to social necessities of people and a reduction in sense of place. Residential apartments have different aspects that should be consistently considered in all stages of their construction, including planning, studies, design and operation, in order to achieve a desired environment and improvement in quality of life. One of the most important factors in evaluating residential complexes is social sustainability that enhances quality of living. In definition "social sustainability in residential complexes is a situation where residents enjoy living in the residential complexes and neighborhood with other residents and they are satisfied”. In other words, human is a social creature and to meet their needs they have to communicate and interact with others. Therefore, considering psychological - social factors besides other indicators like economic and environmental-physical factors are important  for achieving satisfaction as the main criteria for measuring quality of life. In this paper, using field study and questionnaires, social interaction rates in several residential complexes have been evaluated and its objective is evaluation of socio - cultural indicators in residential complexes, determining the position of design in improving social interactions, explaining the role of social interaction in improvement of living quality and finally presenting strategies in this area. In this context, at first the concept of social interactions in housing area and views of scholars in this field have been reviewed and then position of social interactions in the design process to achieve the criteria for comparison of case samples have been analyzed and then considering the results some strategies have been presented at the conclusion. The results indicate that there is always a direct relationship between the amount of social interaction and higher quality of living environment. Moreover, it can be said that the more social factors are considered in the design process, the more willingness of residents to the social interactions are seen and residents feel more satisfaction with their buildings. Communication and social interaction among residents as one of the most important social factors affecting collective living always increase the sense of belonging and continuity of presence in places. The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of short-term group interpersonal therapy (IPT) on the psychological well-being and the life quality of addicted individuals’ wives. The method of this study was quasi-experimental and the design was ‘pretest-posttest’ with a control group. The samples were 57 wives who had referred to Rahnama counseling center and the Rehabilitation Office (Behzisti) for their husbands’ treatment. Using a life quality and psychological well-being questionnaire, 30 people of the wives with low psychological well-being and life quality were selected on simple randomization basis and were divided voluntarily into two groups of experimental and control (15 in each group). The experimental group received 10 sessions of IPT techniques weekly, and the control group did not receive any training. After receiving the treatment, the life quality and the psychological well-being of the subjects in each group were measured again. The MANCOVA analysis of the data showed that IPT in the combination analysis on psychological well-being and life quality revealed significant effect and partial eta squared of the combination analysis was shown to be 0.81. In addition, the data analyzed by using ANCOVA with Bonferoni methods partial eta squared revealed the psychological well-being to be 0.61 and the life quality to be 0.67. In other words, the covariance analysis, both in the combination analysis and in the individual analysis indicated that the IPT caused increasing psychological well-being and life quality in the addicted individuals’ wives. The results of the present investigations revealed the significance of IPT in increasing interpersonal relationships and, consequently, on the improvement of psychological well-being and life quality. The results of this study were in line with other research studies and these investigations showed that the training of interpersonal skills can cause psychological well-being and life quality. In the recent years, the widespread interest in the relationship between emotional intelligence and performance has led to the development of a substantial body of literature. In spite of this ongoing attention, the subject of emotional intelligence and performance is still in a contradictory and controversial phase. Thus, a need remains for the development and testing of hypotheses relating the different dimensions of the emotional intelligence to performance. The goal of this research was to extend prior work on individual competencies and performance and investigate the possible relationship between academic staff members’ competencies (self awareness and self management) and their educational performance and to determine the role of their working life quality as an intervening variable. The results based on 930 questionnaire responses collected from 72 universities in a field study indicate that the extent of educational performance is positively and significantly associated with their self awareness and self management. Besides, the quality of the university working life interferes with the relationship between these variables.  Manuscript profile

City landscape plays an important role in defining the spatial functions and is very important in the spirit of people and the city. Malayer has faced with population increase and city development during the last decades. This factor has caused the appearance of a duality in the form of this city, i.e., old and modern urban textures. Besides, ignoring the city landscape in urban textures and the lack of suitable furniture or inappropriate designing of these textures has caused disconnections in the spatial structure of the city as far as urban landscape is considered. The researcher of the study had a different look while using an analytical and content-based view as well as a descriptive research to study Malayer, in order to determine its effect on urban life. The results of the study obtained from observation confirmed the significant relationship between city development, improving urban life, and urban landscape. The city of Malayer, despite the high cost of aesthetic and improving its quality of life, is not tailored to the expectations of the people, and the need to review the attitude of urban planners is felt. It has also been concluded that urban living will not bring decent living conditions in Malayer without having a suitable urban landscape. Since Malayer has tourism and tourism capabilities, considering its climate, its culture and its location and the effects it has in the west, the city has been underrepresented in terms of urban design and its organization . Life quality is a historical outcome of cultural, social, economic, and political systems and it cannot be explained in exclusion of these structures. So the concept of life quality level is a compound variable that depends on the developmental status of societies and the formulation and representation of life quality indices can be  operationalization of  life quality concept. Level evaluation of life quality either reflects the current condition of a certain community or a group of citizens, or mirrors the conditions of citizens and communities in the social base of city. This article, in order to recognize the life condition of the people of Vardavard locality of Tehran city, studies the level of life quality that finally leads to determine their life satisfaction level on the basis of effective indices. Since life quality indices are numerous, a set of features – such as liveliness and the identity of the locality, education, environmental condition, habitation, transportation, services accessibility, security, and economy– with their own subsets- have been determined as the proper indices for this certain locality, and a questionnaire has been developed according to these features. The sample size was determined as 200 persons by Kukran formula. The life quality in Vardavard locality has been analyzed by using software such as Minitab, Excel, SPSS (for tests such as simple weighted average, T-test, and correlation). Satisfaction from the general index of urban life quality and all of its 9 indices ranges from low to middle levels. And finally, the correlation coefficient indicates that there is a correlation between the life quality indices so as to the improvement of habitation conditions and services accessibility can help upgrade life quality level in Vardavard locality of Tehran city.   Manuscript profile

The conception of "life quality" has considered in regard to the qualitative aspects of human life, and evaluation of “life satisfaction” has covered to all human groups in various forms. Nowadays, the life quality in cities and the satisfaction of it is something that will be addressed in urban management and planning. In this field, the purpose of the present has been evaluating the satisfaction of life quality in Germi City (Iran) and comparing of the heptahedral quarters of the city which has done using with 62 mental indices classified in eight variable groups. This research has the objective of the survey and is among the applied research. The populations of the investigation are Germi's residents that among them 378 questionnaires- based on Cochran formula- were distributed randomly in classified manner. The reliability of the questionnaire has been measured by using Cronbach's alpha (was found at 0.82). Data analysis has been held by single T- test, ANOVA Test (one-way), Kruskal-Wallis and Friedman Tests as needed. The results show the quality of life in Germi has evaluated in undesired level on behalf of residents and in total the amount of satisfaction from the whole indices is less than the mean (Speculative Mean=3).The one-way ANOVA Test shows there is a difference between individual demographic characteristics of respondents and their idea of urban life quality. Moreover, there are differences between the heptahedral quarters of the city in viewpoint of life quality so that can be classified in four levels. Manuscript profile

This paper attempted to study the psychometric characteristics of the “quality of working life” questionnaire and its relationship with “burnout” among Iranian Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism organization employees. To this purpose, a sample group of 350 people were selected through an accessible population sampling, and answered to two questionnaires: the quality of work life with 27 questions and the burnout with 25 questions (in both intensity and frequency). To Show the reliability of the scale, the general formula of “Cronbach's Alpha” was used which was reported to be 0.930. To check the validity, the factor analysis was used and structures and components on this scale with (KMO) index and Bartlett were investigated. The validity of the results of KMO= 0.902 and Bartlett was equal to 4561.295 and factor analysis showed that by eliminating a factor due to low load factor, the questionnaire consists of six main factors was saturated. These six factors (the rule of law and obedience to law, social Solidarity and integration, providing opportunities for growth and security, the development of human capabilities, the fair and adequate payment, overall living space) determined 62.134% of the variance of variables. Multivariate regression analysis showed that the components of fair payment in the amount of  -0.229, and the general space of life in the amount of  -0.129 have influence on Burnout which comparing them, the fair payment has had the most impossible effect. The results showed that with reinforcement or reducing some of the quality of work life components, it is enable to establish the mental health, prepared social and work life for staff, the staffs effective leading for managers, and compensate the lack of information in order to have a useful work planning and boost the organization efficiency for planners Manuscript profile
