Archetypal criticism of Jung is one of the most important contemporary literary criticisms. Archetypes were first presented by Carl Gustav Jung, with reliance on the research in the fields of psychology, anthropology, religion, and history of civilizations. Jung defines archetypes as the universal mental images existing within the individual and collective sub-conscience and named their representations as the myth. The novel 'adrakha al-nessian' (Overtaken by Oblivion) is written using postmodern techniques and includes literary techniques such as: stream of consciousness, impressionism, and traveling in time. This novel narrates the story of a young red hair and red face girl, who has been raised in a nursery from the very beginning. As the story progresses, she faces many problems and, in the end, the author depicts her at the age of 60. By reading this story, we notice the obvious presence of many psychological aspects. Al-Sha'lan's works have always been included within the list of best literary works in both national and international ceremonies, and we can also witness the existence of archetypes within this novel. This paper, using the descriptive-analytic method and the psychological criticism approach, tends to examine the archetypes effective in the mentioned novel. As the results demonstrate, archetypes such as: Anima, the old sage, and self, have affected the flow of occurrences in this novel, helping to create the proper form and theme of narration. 2 - Analysis of Contemporary Critics’ Viewpoints Concerning Abounovas and his Khamriat

Abounovas is of unique character who has  always stimulates old and new critics to battle against each other as far as each person makes a character for him based on their understanding and special orientation instead of discovering his true  character. To recognize his real character ,however, his biography must be reread and to have a correct and real conclusion we have to refer to  reliable sources and to avoid psychological analyses that are understood based on appearance of his Khamriat (poems describing wine) since poetry of a poet is not necessarily his personal biography. The  present study aims to criticize in detail views of contemporary critics because many of them have tried against all scientific, literary and historical standards to deem  Abounovas’ Khamriat as his autobiography ,creating a strange character called Abounovas according to their interpretation  of Khamriat, a character who is mostly impossible in reality, specifically a scholar  such as Abounavas.  . "Khamriyat" is a term referred to poems which deal with the wine world and issues concerned with, from the consideration of  form, taste, and smell to diverse cups and bowls  applied to preserve or drink it. Moreover, reference to wine-drinking communities, the recollection of cup- bearers, singers, musicians, dancers, discussions on the purity of wine, its effect on human soul and body, and the ecstatic drunkenness accompanied by spiritual drunkenness are all issues elaborated in this type of poetry. No doubt, Abu Nuwas , the great Iranian poet who lived during the second century(A.D) is  the forerunner of wine poetry. His outstanding privileges compared to those of his co- poets are that first, he establishes wine poetry as a poetic skill, and next he sets it as a symbolic system. Apart from the realm of poetry, he enters the realms of politics, ethics, and morality and boldly utters some unheard attitudes in a highly restricted milieu. Surely, "Khomriyat" is the mirror of the poet's era. Due to the significance of these everlasting poems, the present paper examines the structure of his poetry. The content of his poems will be discussed in another paper. Manuscript profile

One  of  the  obvious  features  about  cotemporary  poetry   is profiting  the legends  as  there  are  many  poets  who  use  the legends  as a secret  to represent  their attitude. Some  of  the  poets  have  used  the  legends  especially  Tammouz    being  famed  poets  as   Tammouz . Badr-sha ker-Al sayyab- contemporary  poet  of Iraqi  is  at  the  head  of  this  group. He  has  particular  knowledge to apply  these  legends  so that  you  believe  he  is  not  able  to  state  his attitude  without  the  use  of  myths   because  he  was  living  in  a  typical  territory  where  the mouth  was  smelled  in case  of telling :”I  love  you”. He  had  tendency  to  political  activities  in  a period  of  his  life and  struggled permanently   to  prove  a  revolution  and  his  pen  was  his solitary  weapon. Among  these  legends, Tammouz  has  a special  status   because  it symbolizes   evolution  and  change  in  political  and  social  condition, the revolution   which   improves the  people’s  lives. The present  article  is  going  to  consider  the role  of legends  especially  Tammouz in the poetry   of  Sayyab.      Manuscript profile
