        Excessive increase in inequality, poverty and hunger in the world; negative consequences of structural adjustment policies in response to the global economic crisis; degradation of the environment as a result of the use of technology; are three general categories of underlying factors of the idea of ​​sustainable development. Sustainable development is a complex issue that has wide dimensions which does not have a long history in Iran in the field of clothing and textiles. In this study, the traditional concept of sustainable development has been developed with three dimensions of environmental, social and economic and two dimensions of culture and aesthetics in clothing have been studied. As one of the largest and most important Iranian tribe, familiarity with the methods and raw materials of preparing Turkmen fabrics, clothing and consumption patterns helps us to achieve the answer of correct methods of sustainability in the Iranian garment industry. In this research, an attempt has been made to define the concepts of stability characteristics in clothing and to analyze its appearance in Iranian Turkmen clothing. The data collection of this research is done in library. In the terms of purpose, it is applied analytical-descriptive method. The results of this study have shown that all stages of textile production and clothing, its consumption and maintenance in the Turkmen people of Iran are in line with the goals of sustainable development and its dimensions lie in the culture and lifestyle of the Turkmen Manuscript profile
