The study examines the relationship between vocational maturity and commitment and procrastination among employees in public and private banks located in Northern Khorasan. The population includes all empolyyes in 13 private banks and 7 public banks(1445 employees). A sample of 300 is chosen randomly. Three questionnaires are the data gathering instruments:  vocational maturity questionnaire(Lokan, 1984); organizational commitment(Alen, Mier, Smith, 1993); procrastination (Tuckman, 1990).  Structural equation modeling is used to analyze the data. The results show that there is a negative relationship between job maturity and commitment and procrastination. There is a significant positive effect of vocational maturity on vocational commitment. The results also show that employees in private banks have less procrastination and more vocational maturity and commitment. In private banks constant assessment and evaluation of employees and clients’ feedback are more prominent. However, lack of enough supervision and evaluation, longer working hours, and job stability are the reasons for decreased vocational maturity and commitment among employees in public banks.
