The present study was conducted to measure the effect of teaching Time Management on self-directed learning in the first-grade high school girl students. The research method was semi experimental and the research design was pretest-posttest with the control group. The used sampling method was randomized cluster. To this end, two classes, with 30 students each, were randomly selected as “Experimental” and “Control” from a girls’ high school in Falavargion region. The data collection instrument comprised a self-directed learning questionnaire (Fisher et al, 2001) which its face, content, and construct validities had been measured .the reliability of which, also, by means of Cronbach's Alpha, was calculated as 0.81. Both groups responded to the self-directed learning questionnaire as pretest. Then, Time Management was taught to the experimental group, in eight sessions of 1.5 hours each, over a one-month period. Next, both groups were administered a post-test. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Covariance. The findings indicated that the mean scores for self-directed learning and their elements (i.e. self-management, motivation to learn and self-control) increased in the experimental group on the post-test compared to those on the pre-test. Consequently, teaching Time Management improved self-directed learning and its elements. Manuscript profile

For many years, it was believed that Intelligence Quota (IQ) was the benchmark showing how successful one is. However, recent researches have revealed that IQ is not the only factor in one's success but also, other criteria called as Emotional Quota (EQ) has taken its place in many researches. Since the inception of this structure, psychologists mainly paid attention on its cognitive aspects, such as memory and problem solving. Soon, they realized that non-cognitive aspects like emotional and social factors played a key role as well. To study the importance of this issue, a random sample of 81 Electronic and Mechanic engineering graduates from Islamic Azad University, Yadegar Emam Branch, were selected. They were handed out a questioner on EQ derived from Travis-Bradberry book. The collected data evaluated applying Data Enveloping Analysis (DEA) models. In order to rank and distinguish the students’ performance, super efficiency models were employed.  The results show that the Electronic graduates scored some higher rank. Top of all, the study conflicts the selected four factors in evaluating EQ and reveals that the relationship- management factor has the most effect and self-management factor can take the least influence in this evaluation. Nowadays, besides humane, financial and economic capital, another factor has been propounded in organizations which is called "social capital".social capital provides an appropriate enviroment for human resume productivity. On the other hand ,social capital has a significant role in making it possible to use other forms of organizational capitals.Social capital is a set of existing norms in social systems that increases the level of coopeation among members of society and reduces the relationships costs(Fokuyama 1999). Emotional intelligence may play a basic role in work environment (Mckee et al. 2002).Daniel Goleman (1998) defines emotional intelligence as self-awareness,self-managment,self-motivation,social-awareness and social-management. Given that social capital is linked to the relationships among individuals and emotional intelligence has a crucial impact on forming these relationships. This research has attempted examining the impact of the five dimensions of emotional intelligence as independent variables on social capital aspects(namely trust, communication networks, common goals, and language)as dependent variables among the researchers and managers of IRIB research center. this research is a descriptive survey in which the relationships among independent and dependent variables have been examined considering the data collected through questionnaires.Descriptive and inferential statistics have also been applied in order to conduct analysis and provide a model.the results show that there is a direct relationship between emotional intelligence and social capital.therefore,it is possible to increase the level of social capital in the organizations by considering emotional intelligence indicator at the beginning of recruitment and instructing it through the work.
