Abstract :
The aim of the present study was to examine the pathology of Iranian schools among Afghan students based on their lived experiences. This qualitative research was conducted using the phenomenological method, and in order to obtain the research sample group, purposive sampling was used, which was considered an appropriate approach for obtaining a hidden population, considering the objectives of this study. For this purpose, the participants in this study were 15 Afghan students with these characteristics; either they were studying in the sixth grade of elementary school, or they had dropped out after completing this grade or in the middle of the academic year, and they were interviewed. The data collection method was the use of semi-structured interviews. The data obtained were analyzed based on double hermeneutics. The analysis of the interviews revealed 11 main themes lack of specific procedures in internal regulations regarding registration, falling behind in education, self-made laws, executive inefficiency due to administrative shortcomings, equal role-unequal benefits since the data was obtained directly from the students themselves, can be relied on in the policy-making of the Iranian formal education institution. An important and specific suggestion of this study is to pay attention to the findings and make decisions based on these findings, so that steps can be taken in the process of improving matters related to Afghan students studying in Iran.
