        The purpose of this research was to identify the passion for virtual space among athletes. which was done with a qualitative approach, based on grounded theory by the method of Strauss and Corbin and with semi-structured in-depth interview technique until reaching theoretical saturation. The statistical population of this research is 9 male and female athletes of different sports leagues, living in Tehran and willing to participate in the research. For sampling, the purposeful sampling method was used to select the people to be interviewed. Qualitative data analysis has been done in several stages. First, the process of open coding has been done, based on which, the raw statements of the interview were converted into concepts. A total of 46 concepts have been extracted. In the axial coding stage; Irrelevant concepts are removed and concepts close to each other are grouped in the form of new categories. A total of 18 categories have been prepared. Then selective coding has been done. The results of the research showed that individual and environmental factors were effective in the enthusiasm for virtual space among athletes. In the axis of individual factors, categories related to background conditions include: personality categories and positive attitude towards virtual space; The category related to the intervening conditions includes: characteristics and personality differences of the people around; The category related to causal conditions includes: justifying enthusiasm for virtual space; The phenomenon category includes: desire for virtual space; Manuscript profile
