Background and Objective: With advances in technology and the provision of care, numerous problems have emerged yet. On the one hand, these problems have led to environmental pollution and, on the other hand, have created risks of mining accidents and occupational diseases in the workplace. Since most of the activities in the concentrative unit of Sirjan Gol-E-Gohar Iron Company unit are considered working in a risk condition, it is essential to observe safety, and environmental and health issues and requirements to guarantee the security, health of the personnel and also to prevent environmental pollution.
Method: In this study, using the JSA (Job Safety Analysis) method, first, the risks associated with each the job depending on the performed task were identified. Next, the employee exposure to risks, the probability of the risk of accidents, and the intensity of accident consequences are assessed. Finally, control solutions was proposed to eliminate or reduce any risks level.
Findings: 12 hazardous jobs were determined, the associated risks were assessed, and control solutions were suggested. After risk assessment and calculating the risks level in the mentioned company, the results indicated that the liner maintenance technician with 18 risks ranked the first and the disc filters maintenance technician with 7 risk ranked as a person with the lowest risk.
Conclusion: Training of the workers, increasing awareness of the risks, continuous monitoring of their work, improving the occupational safety and health management system are the main control solutions.
