Abstract :
In addition to direct goals such as improving the knowledge and literacy level of human resources and training people to take on social situations, the educational system also has social and political functions, and it is expected that a good educational system will help to fulfill them. In this case, it can be expected that the results of the educational system by strengthening values such as deepening respect for the rights of others, increasing the interactions between people, creating a sense of trust between people in the community and helping to make the relationships transparent will contribute to the creation and expansion of democracy. One of the results of this is the development of peace. In this article, peace in a sense beyond the mere absence of actual conflicts and in the form of what is named as positive peace by using the theoretical literature taken from the International Institute of Economics and Peace (IEP) is examined. It has been placed and addressed the question of what is the relationship between Iran's educational system and the realization of positive peace indicators. Based on this, in response to this claim, it has been proposed that the educational system, in order to serve the realization of positive peace, must overcome the common and institutionalized stereotypes such as only data-oriented and mechanical education.
