Performance measurement is always one of the most important tasks of managers, so knowledge management is measurement knowledge, and if we can measure something, we can no doubt control it, and therefore we cannot manage it. In this paper, according to the Malmquist productivity index, an index is used to determine the progress and regress of a unit. This index is defined by the boundary changes resulting from the inputs of the units and their efficiency changes, which we call the Malmquist Productivity Index. After calculating the Malmquist changes, we were able to determine the rate of increase or decrease in the indicators for the following period. Manuscript profile

There exist large varieties of conjugate gradient algorithms. In order to take advantage of the attractive features of Liu and Storey (LS) and Conjugate Descent (CD) conjugate gradient methods, we suggest hybridization of these methods in which the parameter is computed as a convex combination of and respectively which the conjugate gradient (update) parameter was obtained from Secant equation. The algorithm generates descent direction and when the iterate jam, the direction satisfy sufficient descent condition. We report numerical results demonstrating the efficiency of our method. The hybrid computational scheme outperform or comparable with known conjugate gradient algorithms. We also show that our method converge globally using strong Wolfe condition. Manuscript profile

In this paper, we present a spectral method for approximating the boundary optimal control problems of a well-known wave equation by the linear optimal control problems. The method is based upon constructing the Mth degree interpolation polynomials, using Chebyshevs nodes, to approximate the wave equation. Necessary conditions for optimal control functions are obtained by using the Pontryagin's maximum principle. Moreover, the control parameterization enhancing technique (CPET) is used to obtain the piecewise constant sub-optimal control functions. Finally, the efficiency of the proposed method is confirmed by a numerical example. Manuscript profile

These days, as the residents of urban areas grow, the requirement for consumption rises too. This quantity of consumption needs power generation cores with large volume utilizing that it needs to be big enough which guides technology in the direction of wholesale power transmission systems. Consequently, two kinds of power transmission systems including HVDC and EHVAC can be considered. However, since none of the aforementioned technologies has been used in developing countries, a decision should be made to present and progress any of these technologies. Applying both of these technologies concurrently would not be economic. Therefore, this paper studies deciding on the introduction and development of HVDC and EHVAC in a developing country, Iran. A decision-making development needs the principles of conflicting purposes for alternatives and the selection of the best alternative based on the needs of decision-makers. Multi-objective optimization methods may well provide a solution for this selection. To this end, measures of this selection are described in more specifics and then, MULTIMOORA, one of the recognized MCDM approaches, is used to make the ultimate result. Manuscript profile

Todays, industries are seeking the ways to improve their competitiveness and responsiveness in order to achieve the most share of markets and customer satisfaction. Optimization of strategic and tactical decisions in a logistics network would improve total performance of the supply chain in a long term planning horizon. This paper presents a Mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model to optimize logistics networks under real limitations such as demand, capacity, and budget constraints. Due to NP-hard nature of the proposed model a Differential Evolutionary (DE) algorithm is proposed to solve the large sizes of the presented model in reasonable time. Finally, the computational results obtained through the DE algorithm are compared with the solutions obtained by GAMS optimization software. The results reveal that the proposed methodology is an efficient tool to optimize large scale logistics networks. Manuscript profile

Today, many activities from businesses to engineering design, routing on the Internet, and even routing of foodstuff trucks require programming and optimization. Many of these problems have no determinate solution and cannot be solved easily. To solve these problems, algorithms have been developed inspired by nature based on particle intelligence, biological, physical, and chemical systems, and even human communities and have been named after their inspiration source. A metaheuristic optimization algorithm is an innovative way that can be applied to various optimization problems by slight modifications. These algorithms can improve the capability of finding high-quality answers for difficult optimization problems significantly. The present paper reviews the application of various metaheuristic algorithms and data envelopment analysis (DEA) to optimization problems in the literature published in recent years. Descriptions are provided about the application of metaheuristic algorithms in DEA along with their applications, the field of activity, overlaps, and the integration of these two robust methods to find the optimal answer.
