چکیده مقاله :
انوری را می‌توان بزرگ‌ترین و مهم ترین آیینه تعارض و تناقض عصر سلجوقی دانست. انوری از یک سو میراث عظیم تمدّن اسلامی و ایرانی را که شامل حکمت، علم، هنر و شعر است به ارث برده و از یک سو تمامی آن میراث معنوی را به سخره گرفته است. انوری همواره میان خرد‌گرایی و خرد‌ستیزی و مفاخره به شعر و نفرت از شعر در نوسان است و دیگر از جلوه‌‌های تناقض را می‌توان در کلام و زبان انوری جستجو کرد. برای فهم بهتر این تعارض‌ها باید علل آن ها مورد بررسی قرار گیرد و نقش اجتماعی شعر انوری و هنجارگریز‌های وی شناخته شود. انوری همواره در میان حقیقت وجودی و واقعیت اجتماعی زمانه معلق بوده و نگاه او به شعر و شاعری در درک این تعارضات بسیار مهمّ است. در میان قصاید مدحی وی می‌توان به اهداف و رویکردهای متفاوت او در مدح نیز پی برد.
