Introduction: The aim of the present study was to examine the effect of political intelligence on the performance of sports federation managers with the mediating role of political skill. Methods: Data were collected using the Political Intelligence Questionnaire by Ashraf and Iqbal (2011), the Political Skill Inventory by Ferris et al. (2005), and the Managerial Performance Questionnaire by Chaudhry and Usman (2011). The statistical population of this study included all managers of sports federations in the Islamic Republic of Iran, with a sample size of 232 participants. SPSS software was used for descriptive statistics, and Smart PLS was utilized for structural equation modeling. Results: The results indicated that political intelligence has a positive but non-significant impact on managerial performance. On the other hand, political intelligence demonstrated a positive and significant influence on managerial performance through the mediating role of political skills. Additionally, the effect of political skills on managerial performance was positive and significant. According to the findings, the performance of sports federation managers can be improved by utilizing political intelligence and its mediating effect through political skills. Conclusion: Thus, enhancing the political intelligence and skills of managers can significantly contribute to organizational performance. The utilization of political intelligence and skills by managers can position organizations in a more successful context and enable the achievement of organizational objectives by leveraging the power derived from networking and interpersonal influence. |
