Cost-effectiveness evaluation of therapeutic interventions is important for optimal allocation of resources in the health sector, especially in developing countries. This research is a narrative review aiming at comparison of treatment methods in children with cancer. Methods: The present study was conducted by searching four databases, SID, Scopus, Pubmed and Google Scholar using keywords (cost-effectiveness, economic evaluation, cost-benefit, cost, cancer, and children) to find related articles published between 2000 and 2020. The obtained articles were included in the study after complying with the inclusion criteria. Results: After checking the inclusion criteria, 8 studies were included in the present review. In most studies, surgical procedures or newer drugs (such as laparoscopy or recombinant drugs) were more cost-effective. Most of the studies had examined the economic value of treatment methods in the form of cost-benefit analysis. Conclusion: Primary studies of cost-benefit analysis in the field of health interventions are increasing. Because such analyzes can play an important role in optimizing the use of resources and facilities and improving health status of communities. Review studies can help health managers and policymakers by summarizing the results of primary studies for proper financial planning. Manuscript profile

A project in any case should have a feasibility study and besides justifying the project, it should be able to make the best use of resources. There are costs for all projects which is imposed on the project and this cost should be estimated in the feasibility study of the project. External costs are costs which are imposed on society and the environment but they are not included in the price of the goods or services. This paper presents a new model to estimating the external environmental costs of a project. Therefor, first the potential environmental pollutants will be grouped and justified by the checklist method. Finally, external costs are estimated based on the said checklist using the energy balance sheet and its adjustment coefficients. And by using another checklist to look at external costs that have been counted many times, Subtract or add to the total external costs. Then the private (fixed and variable) costs of the project are taken into account and The cost is minus the total income. This is a kind of cost-benefit analysis, can be used to justify a financially project. Manuscript profile

Background and purpose: Since 2004, dust storm has become a major problem in Khuzestan province, and the need for attention and action to solve this problem has increased. For this reason, the tree planting of the acute centers of fine dust to control this phenomenon was placed on the agenda of the organization of forests, pastures and wetlands of Khuzestan province.Research method: In this study, using cost-benefit analysis, the tree planting plan of acute origins of Khuzestan province was evaluated from an economic perspective. For this purpose, the benefits of the implementation of this policy were considered as a reduction in heart and respiratory diseases, which was compared with the current value of planting and tree planting costs.Findings: The results of this study showed that the criterion of net present value (NPV) is positive and the ratio of benefits to costs (B/C) is greater than one.Discussion and conclusion: according to the obtained results, the implementation of this policy has an economic justification. This study examines the environmental, economic, and social impacts of mines on local communities. Impact assessment in these three areas (environmental, social and economic) predicts the potential environmental factors resulting from the implementation of development projects, some of the ways to reduce or eliminate these unacceptable and unintended, it makes predictions and presents predictions to decision-makers. In this study, a reasonable decision can be made by understanding the impact of each of the above factors on the continuation or stopping of mining activity.  By preparing a questionnaire on gathering the required information and compiling a questionnaire in three axes, economic, social and environmental, a total of 32 questions were put on the gathering of opinions from the expert community. Then, the reliability of the questionnaires was assessed by SPSS software and then, a cost-benefit analysis was performed on the status of the proposed sand mines. After implementing the model presented in three axes, economic, environmental and social, the results of the costs were 0%, 53.27%, and 52.67%, respectively, and the income results were 100%, 46.73%, respectively. % 47.33% was obtained. Therefore, the income from the activities under study is dominated by the costs considered in the three axes considered. Manuscript profile

Purpose: To analyze the cost-benefit of databases of Mohaghegh Ardabili University in 2009. Methodology: It is an applied and survey research. Statistical population is databases ScienceDirect, Taylor and Francis, and Sage. Statistical reports provided by the server were used to collect the required data. And, the two methods namely use frequency and cost-benefit analysis, as two scientific methods in evaluating electronic resources, have been used. Findings: The frequency of the rate of use on the basis of indexes including the number of downloading the papers with HTML and PDF formats and abstracts in different databases were of significant differences, so that among the three databases, ScienceDirect and Taylor and Francis had the lowest rate of use. Conclusion: Due to the costs provided for subscribing the databases, the three databases “ScienceDirect”, “Sage” and “Taylor and Francis” had been the cheapest, relatively expensive, and the most expensive databases, respectively.   Manuscript profile

The aim of the present research is the investigation of importance of establishing full-text articles databases and determination of its cost-benefit from the view point of faculty members, students and staff of Islamic Azad University (IAU), Rudehen Branch. The statistical population of this research is the faculty members, students and the staff of IAU Rudehen Branch. In this research the needed data was collected through survey/descriptive method. The results are based on important factors in establishing an information centres such as space, facilities, information sources, management and staff, users, services, costs, organization of materials, budget, network and softwares. According to the research results it was found that the establishment of Internet centres and full-text databases not only haven’t any benefit for the University, but also have to bear a loss. But, users including faculty members, students and staff take all the intellectual benefits which in turn can lead to intellectual value for the University. It seems that most of intellectual benefits received by professors and faculty members according to the factors are: 1) easy access to information, 2) subscribed databases have free information, and 3) Less payment for accessing to needed information.       Manuscript profile

Purpose: The main objective of this study was to evaluate the cost-benefit of resources’ conservation and preservation methods in libraries of Tehran governmental universities. Methodology: The method of the present research is descriptive. The stratified sampling technique is used to indicate a total sample of 83 managers/ supervisors of central and academic libraries (contain 13 central and 70 academic libraries) who 42 of them (51 percent) answer the questionnaires. To gather at the research data a questionnaire with 9 tables is designed. Validity of the questionnaire was determined with some of library professors and its reliability was measured with Cornbrash’s alpha about 0.88 that is good. The data analysis of the present research was performed by Excel. Findings: Findings showed that in this population, cleaning (62.20 percent) is the most activity of conservation, and binding and replacement (83.34 percent) is the most activity of preservation. Also in the libraries with the higher resources, cost-benefit attribute (desirability of economic profitability) is relatively good. The situation is more or less similar to the average resource libraries, but in the libraries with lower sources which the major part of the research (about 64/29 percent) there is not any desirability of economic profitability in the conservation and preservation selected methods. Conclusion: The results of the libraries’ cost-benefit evalution showed that small libraries are in the unsuitable situation. Protection against atmospheric pollution, security, and protection against fire methods are the main shortcomings in these groups of libraries. Manuscript profile
