Also, the mean result for cadmium in site of Shif was 0.0043 ppb in the muscle of males and 0.0037 ppb in females, and the concentration of lead in males was 0.0218 ppb and in females 0.0216 ppb on a dry weight basis. Finally, the accumulation of metals Pb>Cd at both sites of Helleh and Shif was obtained. The accumulation of lead and cadmium in both sites is positively correlated with the length of shrimp, and the extent of absorption of the two metals, lead and cadmium, had a moderate positive correlation However, the accumulation of nickel and vanadium in both sites was not detectable by PolarographConclusion: Comparing these results with international standards such as the World Health Organization shows that the concentration of lead, cadmium, nickel, and vanadium is less than the limit, and accumulation of metals and therefore probably intended for export as well as consumer health will make it difficult to raise. Nine 600 m2 earth ponds were prepared and stocked with 20 shrimp post larvae in each pond (mean weight 0.007 ±0.001 g) for three treatments (each with three replication). After 40 days, the mullet fish fingerlings collected from the Oman Sea (with mean weight 35 g) released to earth ponds with a density of zero (T1 as control), 2 (T2), 4 (T2) per 100m2. During the culture period, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH and salinity were measured. One way ANOVA results showed that there were significant differences between growth rate, shrimp biomass, FCR and abiotic parameters (P<0.05), but not for survival rate (P>0.05). The highest shrimp biomass was harvested from T3 (with 212 kg and a mean weight of 18.4 g individual shrimp) and the lowest (with 187 kg with a mean weight of 16.23 g individual shrimp) was from T1. However, there were no statistically significant difference in survivorship between treatments, but the highest survival percentage was observed in T3 (95.96%) and the lowest in T2 (94.5%). Duncan's test in FCR average showed no significance difference between T1 (the lowest FCR, 1.2 ±0.1) and T2 (P>0.05), but there was a significant difference between these two treatments and T3 (the highest FCR, 1.27 ±0.2) (P<0.05). The conclusion expressed that polyculture of white leg shrimp and mullet fingerlings in earth pond not only performed more shrimp production compare to mono shrimp culture system. Infectious bacterial agents are the most significant hygienic problems observed in the cultured shrimps . This study was aimed to isolate and identify microflora of farm ponds and western white shrimp gastrointestinal tract (Litopenaeus vannamei) in the Bushehr Province farm ponds and their survey as probiotic. Materials and Methods: The shrimp and pond water samples were collected from 10 farm ponds (located at Bushehr Province). After transferring the samples to laboratory, the shrimp samples were autopsied to access to their intestinal microflora. The isolated bacteria were identified based on biochemical tests, morphology and Biolog software. Antibacterial activities of the isolates against 6 common pathogenic bacteria in shrimps were then investigated using well diffusion and disk diffusion methods. Results: Overall, 12 bacterial genera were isolated from the farm ponds and shrimp gastrointestinal tract. The majority of bacterial species most abundantly isolated were Bacillus, Vibrio and Pseudomonas. Among the isolated bacteria, Bacillus, Micrococcus and Corynebacterium showed the most antibacterial activity against evaluated pathogenic bacteria. Conclusion: Almost all the isolated bacteria from shrimp gastrointestinal tract were found in farm ponds as well. The bacterium Bacillus sp., for instance, is able to inhibit the growth of pathogens through secreting antimicrobial products. Manuscript profile -
