Every week world urban areas gain another one million people. nowadays cities asthe settlements of over fifty percent of world's populations face many challenges likeair pollutions, noises, traffic congestions, stresses and so on. this trend threat bothhuman´s life quality and environment quality. ideal city for citizen´s life is sustainablecity in which improvement in the quality of human life is achieved in harmony withimproving and maintaining the health of ecological systems. In this city life isdesirable and increased quality of life, less conflicts, more effective economy, socialprogress and … are main advantages of these cities. There are many Barriers forCreating Sustainable Cities and one more important of them is weak urban transportsystems and traffic congestion. Traffic congestion in cities has social, economic andecological effects. On the other hand these three factors (social, economy and ecology)are the pillars of sustainable development. therefore inadequate management of urbantransport systems so existence of traffic congestion in cities is an important barrier ofcreating sustainable city. access to sustainable city requires a shift towards sustainableurban transport. sustainable transport is a term used to describe those modes oftransport which are not primarily associated with the use of non-renewable energyresources for the transport of individuals without causing a deterioration in the qualityof urban life. Nowadays Tehran as the biggest city and Capital of our country hasmany problems and barriers to be a sustainable city . high increasing in population, centralization, uncontrolled development, Air pollution, traffic congestion, accidentsand so on are some of these problems. Air pollution is the most importantenvironmental problem of Tehran which is caused mainly by motor vehicles. Motorvehicles produce 60-80% of pollution in this city. low price of fuel, low quality ofgasoline, large number of old cars, very high price of vehicles, Tehran's geographicposition, high dependency on private passenger car, improperly enforced driving andtraffic rules and finally lack of harmonious management are the most important factorsthat caused non-sustainable transport system is used in the city and as a result Tehran is an unsuitable place for living . in order to avoid this unsuitable situation changing ofTehran to a sustainable city it is necessary to support comprehensive models ofsustainable transport that are suitable with special conditions of our country andTehran city. one of these models is mooted in this study and there is no doubt aboutthat it is impossible to achieve urban sustainability in Tehran without attention inspecial consideration associated with our country . Urban spaces refer to the man-made spaces which possess a special order for human behavior and activities. One of these spaces is the surrounding space of public transportation stations. The subway stations, although potentially encompass many different groups of people, few social interactions take place in these spaces. However, an appropriate designing of these spaces, as an interface between the inside and outside of the cities, can cause much more activities to be continued in the public places. In this regard, by making the surrounding areas of the subway stations be public space, the potential for increasing the socialization capacity of the mentioned spaces will be provided. Sadeghieh Subway Station can be considered as the most important subway station in Tehran, which on the one hand is the rail port of Tehran's western entrance, and on the other is the port for railway journeys inside the city. The main concern of this study is to assess the success or failure of the interventions made by the municipality for changing the surrounding area of the Sadeghieh Subway Station into a public space, and examine the amount of the area's improvement into a desirable space. The method used in this study is survey, in which the data were collected using questionnaire and interview.  The study's population is all people who use Sadeghieh Subway, and the sample size for the study were considered 140 subjects. In data analyzing phase, using SPSS software and parametric one-sample t-test, we found out that in such cases as transportation, security, Pedestrian infrastructure, vitality and attractivity, rate to remain in the space, the amount of traffic crossing the sidewalk, walking group, the lighting, the vendors, the cleaning, pavement structure and climatic elements after the municipality's actions to change the space into a pedestrian-oriented space have a progressive process can be observed, but in such cases as mix use, recreational activity, readability and design furniture no significant change was seen, and in some cases the results were counterproductive.  Manuscript profile

This paper examines trust in political parties and currents in the urban environment of Shiraz metropolis. The purpose of this article is to identify the level of trust in parties in the urban environment. The sample size was 383 cases that were selected by random cluster sampling. The survey method and the self-administered questionnaire were applied whose validity and reliability were evaluated by Face validity and Cornbrash’s alpha coefficient, respectively. The results showed that there is a significant difference between the level of trust in parties according to the use of domestic radios, domestic television, and magazines and newspapers. There is no significant difference between the level of trust in political parties according to the use of satellites, the internet, and abroad Persian-language radios, but there is a significant indirect relationship between the degree of trust in parties and the membership period in social networks. There is a direct and significant relationship between the awareness of parties and the dependent variable. There is no relationship between age and the dependent variable. Independent variables explained more than 23% of the dependent variable variances. Trust in political parties in metropolis areas is associated with some modern media and awareness of political parties.Extended AbstractIntroduction: Political trust is the feeling of confidence that citizens have towards institutions and political actors and they believe that institutions, actors, and politicians behave in the right way in their field of work even in the absence of continuous monitoring (Blind, 2006). The metropolis of Shiraz, as one of the metropolises of the country, has a population composition with ethnic diversity and has faced a high population increase in the last two decades. Considering the centrality of the province and the regional position of this city in the southern part of the country, the evaluation of the components of political culture in it is of great importance. In this regard, this paper examines trust in political parties in the urban environment of Shiraz metropolis. The purpose of this article is to identify the level of trust in parties in the urban environment. Considering that most of the population of Iranian society lives in cities and metropolises are also the focus of political, social, cultural, and economic actions, knowing political trust in the urban environment is of great importance. The basic research question is what is the relationship between the use of mass media and political trust in political parties in the urban environment of Shiraz metropolis?Methodology:In this research, the survey method and the self-administered questionnaire were applied whose validity and reliability were evaluated by Face validity and Cornbrash’s alpha coefficient, respectively. The statistical population of the research included all the residents of Shiraz city 18 years and older (Iran Statistics Center, 2017), according to the size of the statistical population, based on Lin's table (Lin, 1976), the sample size was estimated to be 383 cases. Cluster random sampling was used to select samples by referring to localities with different socio-economic characteristics. The alpha coefficient for the variable of trust in political parties was 0.87 and for the variable of knowledge about political parties was 0.73.Results and discussion: The results showed that there is a significant difference between the level of trust in parties according to the use of domestic radios, domestic television, and magazines and newspapers. There is a direct and significant relationship between the level of awareness about parties and the level of trust in political parties. The Pearson coefficient obtained for the age variable in relation to the level of trust in political parties indicates the absence of a relationship between the two variables. There is no significant difference between the level of trust in political parties according to the membership in social networks (Sig=0.156). Nevertheless, those who are not members of social networks have more trust in political parties. Independent variables explained more than 23% of the dependent variable variances. The contents of social networks can have divergent characteristics towards political parties. Due to their high cultural consumption and their lived experience in connection with political and administrative institutions, users living in metropolitan areas have a high level of distrust towards political parties. Conclusion: Foreign media users have less political trust than those who use domestic media more. The results obtained from the study of the media's role in the political trust are in line with framework theories such as Rush's political socialization model (Rush, 1998), the socio-cultural perspective on political trust and the image hypothesis, and their arguments support. There is a direct and significant relationship between the level of awareness of parties and the level of trust in political parties. The results of this study show the importance of media and the impact of their orientation on the political and social attitudes of the residents of the society, especially the residents of urban areas. According to the obtained results, the role of the media in the formation and transformation of political attitudes, especially political trust, can be analyzed according to the nature of their direction.Trust in political parties in metropolis areas is associated with some modern media and awareness of political parties. This finding is consistent with the results of the study by Crete et al. (2006) and Koushki et al. (2019). There is no relationship between age and trust in political parties. The finding obtained from the test of the relationship between these two variables is also compatible with Rush's political socialization perspective (Rush, 1998) and shows that awareness and recognition of political parties that are obtained through socialization, play an important role in political trust in political parties. Social resilience plays an important role in urban development and management today. This type of resilience is influenced by various conditions and indicators, of which advertising in the urban environment can be considered one of the most important; Because advertisements visually and mentally create different conditions for citizens. In this research, the aim is to investigate the effects and function of urban environmental advertising on the promotion of social resilience in Tehran city. The research method is descriptive-analytical and based on field data. The data collection tool was a questionnaire that was collected at the level of the statistical population (8,694,000 people) in different regions. Based on Cochran's formula, the sample size was determined to be 384 people. The structural and content validity of the verification tool as well as the reliability were confirmed with Cronbach's alpha above 0.70. The result showed that the function of urban environment advertising is positive on social resilience. Such that the advertising of the urban environment has the greatest impact on social resilience through the improvement of information to citizens with an amount equal to 0.601; They show the improvement of citizens' brand awareness with 0.580 and the reduction of citizens' expenses with 0.541. The result also showed that due to the poor state of social resilience in Tehran, awareness of urban people with education; healthy environment advertising; improving the power of organizing advertising; Empowerment to deal with risk and vulnerability and good governance with favorable policies are 5 effective indicators in promoting a resilient society according to urban environment advertising.Extended AbstractIntroduction:Environmental advertising is one of the most widely used advertising media, which includes a wide and diverse range of public arenas in urban spaces. This media, in addition to its positive aspects, if it is not properly organized, as one of the most important causes of visual pollution, it creates adverse effects on the quality of the urban environment and the mental comfort of citizens. Environmental advertising is a means of implementing marketing strategies that we face on a relatively large scale every day. In this regard, a lot of money is always spent on designing and implementing such advertisements, especially billboards in the city. In this research, the city of Tehran has been selected as a case study. Tehran metropolis has a special position due to its centrality and various economic and social characteristics. The topic of environmental advertising in this city also has a great place and all kinds of advertising can be seen in this city in different ways. Advertisements in Tehran have different visual and mental effects, which can be well imagined in the life of this city. A large part of environmental advertising in this city can be related to social resilience; Because social resilience happens as a result of knowledge, awareness, social capital and indicators like this. Considering that social resilience is one of the important issues in Tehran metropolis, various indicators and functions in this field should be studied and studied. Urban environmental advertising is also one of these important and basic issues. In this research, the aim is to investigate the effects and function of urban environmental advertising on the promotion of social resilience in the city of Tehran, so that effective strategies or indicators can be identified in this field by using the knowledge of the effects.Methodology:According to its nature, the research method is descriptive-analytical and applied in terms of purpose. The statistical population of the research includes the citizens of Tehran. According to the statistics of 2015, there are 8,694,000 people. Based on Cochran's formula, the statistical sample for the statistical population at the individual level was calculated as 384 people. The sampling method is at the citizen level, which was done randomly. There are two types of information collection methods: library (documents) and field (survey). The research collection tool is a questionnaire. For analysis, the data are summarized, coded and categorized and finally processed to provide the basis for analyzes and connections between these data in order to answer the questions. The collected raw data was entered into SPSS software and finally the data was analyzed. The structural and content validity of the questionnaire was confirmed, as well as reliability, with Cronbach's alpha coefficient greater than 0.70. The table below shows Cronbach's index and middle coefficient for different sections. Results and discussion:The test results of social resilience indicators show that all indicators were significant at a level less than 0.05. Examining the significance direction using the test mean confirms that the mean values for all social resilience indicators are lower than the test mean (3) and therefore it can be concluded that the social resilience of Tehran city has been assessed inappropriately. In this context, the maximum average values related to the index of participation in public benefit activities with a value of 2.356; Cooperation in neighborhood development programs with a value of 2.350 and the index of collective action and participation of citizens in neighborhood decision-making with a value of 2.221. The minimum average was also related to the index of residents' trust in each other with an average of 1.652. Comparing the minimum and maximum average indicators confirms the poor state of social resilience. The result showed that the correlation between urban environmental advertising and promoting social resilience is equal to 0.932, which is a direct correlation. But with all the effects of urban environmental advertising, they have the ability to explain 93% of the changes (variance) of tourism development, and 7% of the changes are explained by other factors or indicators. The improvement of information to citizens with an amount equal to 0.601 units predicts the variable of social resilience, which in fact includes the most impact of urban environment advertisements on social resilience. Also, they show the improvement of citizens' brand awareness with the amount of 0.580 units, which means predicting 58% of social resilience changes. Reduction of citizens' expenses, as the third effect of urban environmental advertising, predicts changes in social resilience with 0.541 units. The lowest impact of urban environment advertising on social resilience is related to two indicators of increasing communication between citizens and decision makers with an explanation of 0.074 and empowering citizens in the field of crises with an explanation of 0.129. In general, the effects of urban environment advertising on social resilience are positive, and urban environment advertising can have significant effects in promoting resilience and improving urban conditions. The result of the research showed that in order to promote a resilient society against urban environmental advertising, several strategies or indicators are effective, which are awareness of urban people with education; Advertising for a healthy environment, organizing advertising; Empowering citizens and good governance with favorable policies are among the most important. Conclusion:In general, the result of the research confirms that advertising of the urban environment can be a suitable strategy to promote social resilience, which is effective in various aspects, such as improving the knowledge of citizens, informing citizens, realizing transparency in urban management, and reducing social vulnerability. And... it can be realized in the urban environment. Manuscript profile

Being one of main subjects of urban areas, motor vehicles have brought a lot of difficulties to the urban fabric. With rising of motor vehicles, the real meaning of cities has vanished. Thus walkability has become one of the major concerns in urban planning however due to lack of information and experiences to understand the factors affecting the degree of walkability in cities and neighborhoods. If these roads have low environmental quality, people won’t spend their time there. The aim of this study is to declare strategies to improve quality of these places. Hence, by using literature review, factors involved in improving the quality of environment identified and the hypothetical model was developed. To test the model validity, it was presented to experts in this field. The model was modified duo to their comments so that it would be appropriate and indigenous to nature of the case. The final model which is based on Canter model, consist of three dimensions including environmental, functional and aesthetic. The case chosen is a walkable street named “Saf” in Tehran city. To run the appraisal procedure, SWOT model- a renowned analytical system- was used to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. According to analysis, street is in the inappropriate position, weakness and threats are more powerful than other cases. So it is situated in TW position and the solution are presented for this special condition to expunge the weaknesses and moderate threats .In order to achieve the research goal which is environmental quality improvement, guidelines are suggested to regulate the environment with a view to eliminate weaknesses and possibilities of threats. Rapid growth of cities has caused various crises in urban life, such as environmental problems and environmental degradation. Following this, the need to pay attention to the concept of quality in residential areas, along with attention to quantitative problems, is felt more. Human settlements can be most desirable for residents, to meet their demands. Urban spaces are the places where the most interactions occur between them. In fact, the quality of the urban environment leads to the presence or absence of citizens in urban space. Lack of favorable environmental qualities has led to a diminution of social life in recent years. The city of Qazvin, as one of the middle cities with a historical background, is no exception to this and it is necessary to review the views of citizens on the quality of urban space in it. This research studies the views of citizens on the quality of life in Qazvin city with the aim of achieving effective indicators of urban quality of life in physical and social dimensions. In order to identify the factors, the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) method has been used. To determine the priority of factors, Friedman test was used. Five factors in social dimension and six factors in the physical dimension are identified and named. According to the results of the Friedman test, the most important factors in the social dimension are respectively social life and public participation, and in the physical dimension, respectively, are legibility and personalization.
