The general purpose of this research is the study of relationship between mathematics anxiety and learning styles in high school students. To assess the students' learning styles, the Kolb's learning styles inventory and to assess the mathematics anxiety, Chiu and Henry's “Mathematics Anxiety Scale for children (MASC)” were applied, the reliability and validity of which had previously been calculated. The population consisted of all high school science and mathematics students that studied in four districts in Shiraz participants were selected by random-cluster sampling. The findings indicated that there was a positive significant relationship between mathematics anxiety and concrete experience learning methods, on the one hand & negative significant relationship between mathematics anxiety and abstract conceptualization, on the other hand. There was no significant relationship between mathematics anxiety and learning styles with respect to gender. In addition, surveying the relation between students' mathematics anxiety and their learning styles according to their education grades revealed that there was a negative and significant relationship between mathematics anxiety and abstract conceptualization learning style. The correlation was statistically significant for students of the third grade. Manuscript profile

The purpose of this study was to identify the effectiveness of problem solving training on reduction of math anxiety among the students with field-dependent cognitive style in Hamadan city. The used method was of quasi experimental type. In this research pre-test and post-test with control group were used. 148 male students, in control group, completed the math anxiety test. Then the students with math anxiety completed the group embedded figures test so as to be identifies as those with field-dependent cognitive style. Then, 40 students with field-dependent cognitive style were randomly divided into the experimental and the control groups. The experimental group received training in problem-solving method and the control group did not have any intervention. The results indicated that the problem solving training reduced the math anxiety among the male students with field-dependent cognitive style. Thus, using problem-solving techniques and skills can reduce math anxiety of male students with Fi Manuscript profile

This study was done to investigate the effect of shadow educations and parenting styles and mathematical anxiety among high school students in Mazandaran province. The statistical community includes 48545 high school students. 380 students were chosen as samples, due to the community numbers in Morgan table, but 500 ones were selected as samples for certainty to the community and coordination to other different groups, by random classified sampling method. The research was a kind of descriptive and Diand Bamrin,s Parenting style Inventory(1973), mathematical anxiety (Shokrani, 2002) and shadow education questionnaires were applied to collect the data. The validity of questionnaires confirmed by educational experts and reliability calculated:./72,./92,./72. For data analysis, the independent T, one way and two ways variance Analysis were used by SPSS software. The results indicated that students who applied shadow education experienced less mathematical anxiety and the effect of parenting style on math anxiety was meaningful. Manuscript profile

Purpose: In this study, the relationship between spatial visual observation and working memory with creativity and math anxiety has been investigated through mediation of mathematical self-efficacy and social intelligence among female students. Methodology: The method is correlation with a path analysis. A total of 477 students were selected randomly from a multi-stage cluster randomly from all female students of fifth grade elementary school in public schools in Tehran during the academic year of 2017-18. Students were examined by the non-verbal creativity questionnaire of Torrance Form A, MARS-R Mathematic Anxiety Scale, working Memory for Children (SMBK), Liv, Kivevala and May,s Mental Self-Efficacy, Traumous Social Intelligence (TSIS), and Processing Test Binet's spatial visualization completed. In order to analyze the data, Pearson correlation and path analysis were used .Results: Based on the proposed model (RMSEA = 0.001), in this study, Visual- spatial Processing variables were only indirectly mediated by social intelligence and math self-efficacy variables on math anxiety (P-value <0.05, = β) and showed a relationship with social intelligence mediating with creativity (P-value <0.05). Also, the working memory variable was displayed only directly (P-value = 0.03, β = 099) with creativity. Conclusion: Considering the confirmation of the main goal of this study, one can mention the two variables of social intelligence and mathematical self-efficacy as the variables that influence the educational priorities of the educational system in order to increase creativity and reduce the math anxiety Manuscript profile

The present study aims at predicting the performance of the female students in mathematics based on their mathematics self-concept, motivation and anxiety. The research method applied was a corellative one which was implemented through the application of structural equations modeling. The statistical community of the study comprised of all the female grade-nine students of Hamdan from among whom 324 were selected through a multiple cluster method. The tool for collecting the necessary data were the sacles for measuring mathematics self-concept, mathematics motivation and mathematics anxiety and the marks which students received in the lesson. The statistical analysis of the data shows that the mathematics self-concept has significant effects on performance, motivation, and anxiety, while anxiety also has signifcant effects on performance of the students in mathematics. Also, it was found that motivation has a positive effect on performance while being mediated by anxiety. Moreover the results of this study showed that the suggested structural model has reasonalble suitability. Thus, we can conclude that both the teachers and the parents of the students can effectively improve their performance in mathematics courses by enhancing their self-concept and motivation for learing mathematics and by reducing their anxiety. The aim of the present study is to investigate the effectiveness of problem solving training on students’ math anxiety and self-regulation. The method of this study was quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test and control. The population of the study were female students of junior high schools in Sanandaj. 30 of these students, with high math anxiety and low self-regulation were randomly selected through cluster and multistage sampling, who were assigned to two groups of experimental and control. The experimental group received problem-solving training for eight sessions. The research instruments contained 2 questionnaires: math anxiety questionnaire (Kazemi, 1390) and self-regulation questionnaire (Kanel & Rian, 1987). The data were analyzed through covariance method. The results show that math anxiety of the students in the experimental group, after receiving the treatment, significantly decreased and their self-regulation significautly increased. In other words, the final conclusion of this study confirmed the effectiveness of using problem solving training in decreasing math anxiety and increasing self-regulation in students Manuscript profile

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between studying approaches and math anxiety with academic achievement in mathematics. For this purpose, 166 students (98 male and 68 female) were randomly selected with cluster sampling from Islamic Azad University branch Abadan that they are enrolment in pre-mathematics courses in the second semester of the 1389-90 year. The Approaches and Study Skills Inventory for Students scale and Fennema-Sherman Mathematics Anxiety Scale were used respectively for measuring studying approaches and mathematics anxiety, Final exam scores was considered as achievement in mathematics. The Pearson correlation test didn’t show a significant relationship between deep, strategic and surface studying approaches with mathematics achievement. Mathematics anxiety had negatively significant related to mathematics achievement and also all subscales of studying approaches had a significant relation with mathematics anxiety. Using the structural equation modeling for identifying relations between studying approaches and math achievement in the presence of math anxiety indicated a surface studying approach has a negative indirect significant effect on mathematics achievement. The result shows that students with surface studying approach show a weaker performance in mathematics, even in the non-deep tests. The results of this study can be used in academic counseling to increase mathematics achievement.    Manuscript profile

The research sample consists of high school students.380 students were chosen as samples, due to the community numbers in Morgan table, but 500 ones were selected as samples for certainty to the community and coordination to other different groups, by random classified sampling method. The researcher- made shadow education and mathematical anxiety questionnaires were applied to collect the data. The results indicated that the main effect of shadow education is significant; that is, students who applied shadow education experienced less mathematical anxiety. Other results indicated that there is a significant difference between girls and boys mathematical anxiety; and girls experience more mathematical anxiety than boys. However, there is no significant difference in mathematical anxiety among various educational course students. So,we can conclude that shadow education can be useful on math anxiety decreasing. ُ Manuscript profile
