Abstract :
This study investigated the effect of personal characteristics and educational background on learning and study strategies on Islamic Azad University students of Mazandaran. For this purpose, university students were randomly chosen from subjects based on an educational group. The research method was retrospective. The data gathering tool was Weinstein's Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI). T- test, variances analysis and tukey's tests were used to determine the effect of personal characteristics (gender and age) and educational background (grade point average and educational level) on Learning and Study Strategies. The results revealed that on the scales of learning and study strategies there were statistically significant differences between students in term of gender, age, grade-point average and educational level.
