Geological studies in Iran do not have a long history. The establishment of the School of Political Science and the history of teaching diplomacy and international relations in 1278, which according to its founders, students should have come from the noble and noble families of the country and from the Dar al-Fonun school, was an important step in this regard. This was done before the Meiji reform in Japan and after the reforms in the Ottoman Empire. Efforts such as establishing and integrating a school of political science and law, establishing a school of law and political science, establishing a center for international higher studies, establishing a national and private university, and teaching subjects such as politics and government in Latin America and Eastern Europe, etc. He was a beginner in this field. Measures were also taken in the old order at the University of Isfahan, Shiraz University, and the Tehran Center for Advanced International Studies using positivist methodology for geography. After the Islamic Revolution of 1978, the fields of political science and international relations were rebuilt. The Faculty of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was established in 1982; Its students were from the lower and lower social strata, but were mostly religious in society and now (constitute the basic body of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs). The Faculty of Political Science (Imam Sadegh (AS) University), the founders of which were and are the leaders of the first generation of the revolution, undertook the training of these students. It is worth mentioning that, at one point, the graduates of this university managed the most sensitive case in the country, namely the nuclear case. They also run the country's political and cultural centers, such as the Radio and Television, the Islamic Propaganda Organization, the Islamic Communications Organization, and the Ministry of Islamic Guidance. In fact, the students of these universities became skilled in geography and replaced the elites of the ancient order. At the same time, the field of international relations was established later than other fields at the University of Tehran and then spread to other universities; He currently teaches at Islamic Azad University, Mofid University of Qom, Razavi University of Mashhad and research centers. Some strategic centers, such as the Center for Scientific Research and Strategic Studies of the Middle East, the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council, the Center for the Study of Light Thinkers, etc., are also making moves to make changes in the field of geology by creating think tanks. In this regard, what seems important is that, first: the theoretical foundations of geography have not been formed in Iran. Second, studies have not changed from macro to micro. Geological studies should pay attention to some micro-issues such as political culture and the study of social classes, status groups, parties, influential groups and pressure and democracy groups, and the role of the military in political life. Third, the lack of a methodology for geological studies also draws attention. Fourth: Little attention to field studies and the lack of connection between theoretical foundations and the implementation of theories and ideas are also problems related to geology. Overcoming these problems requires knowledge and awareness, and improving it can lead the faculties of political science, regional studies, and international relations to a new level. Establishment of the School of World Studies, creation of chairs of geology such as American Studies, Germany, Japan, etc., whose courses are taught in the main language, and the chair of Iranology that attracts students from other countries can be an important step in promoting this field. This thinking can even be applied in the Islamic Azad University. However, the establishment of strategic study centers at the university is now delayed.
