1 - A Study on the Effect of Dry Candy Processing on Fatty Acids in Silver Carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) and their Shelf Life in Cold Conditions
        S. Moeini R. Mosavi Nadoshan S. Aghayipour
The fatty acid profile of fresh and dry candy fish of Hypophtalmichthys molitirix were identified and effects of the dry candy on them were investigated. In addition, the shelf life of dry candy of the fish was found in cold conditions (3-4ºC). The profile of fatty More
The fatty acid profile of fresh and dry candy fish of Hypophtalmichthys molitirix were identified and effects of the dry candy on them were investigated. In addition, the shelf life of dry candy of the fish was found in cold conditions (3-4ºC). The profile of fatty acids in fresh and dry candy samples were identified and measured using a GC instrument equipped with a FID detector. The fatty acid content in initial samples for SFA, MUFA and PUFA were 27/5± 0/2, 46/39± 0/5 and 26/11± 0/1 %, respectively. During a 90-day storage, the percentage changes of dry candy samples were, for SFA (27/82± 0/7 to 33/69± 0/84), MUFA (46/77± 0/2 to 46/39± 0/2) and PUFA (26/11± 0/2 to 17/45± 0/2) which were statistically significant (p>0/05). During the 90 days of storage, temperature was about 3-4ºC, the peroxide changed from 3/08± 0/02 to 6/10± 0/02 and reached 5/48 meq O2kg -1. In conclusion, the shelf life of dry candy flesh of this fish in cold conditions was predicted to be one month. Manuscript profile

Lake Gahar is located in southwest of Iran, in East Lorestan province and at 2350m above sea level. There is little information and few studies on limnology of this lake . This tectonic lake is known to have a unique macro- invertebrate fauna. In order to perform a complete research on the zoo-benthic community of the lake, the present study was conducted during a period of seven months from April 2011 to December 2011 with the exception of 5 months during very cold seasons when the lake was covered by ice. The benthic assemblage was sampled monthly from 3 sites in profundal zone. In total 6 genera and species and 5 families were found  from which 1 species is unique in Iran. In this research, the dominant species of the lake are Quistadrilus multisetasus , Stylodrilus  herngianusof class Oligochaets and Pisidium casertanum of class Bivalvia. Their abundance  percentage determined  in respect of total distribution were %69, %13 and %6, respectively. The maximum abundance of total population of macro- benthos in Gahar lake was 11617.78±4910.379 individual per square meter in May and the minimum was 1436.32±671/87 individual per square meter in April. Calanoids among cultured copepods are a potential source of live food for marine fish larvae because of their pelagic forms, high frequency in nature, suitable size and high content of PUFA fatty acid levels. Therefore, given the importance of this zooplankton, in the present study the effect of different temperatures on growth and survival of Acartia at 3 treatments, 30° C , 25° C,  20 ° C and a constant salinity of 40 ppt during 21 days were investigated. At the end of study, the highest survival was reported at temperature treatment of 30 ° C, with egg relaying percent and development of 86.6 ± 11.54. The average survival of 5 Naupli stages, 5 copepodit stages and adult stage was %34. 3± 5.50, %23.1 ± 5.5and %15±6 and the highest growth rate obtained was %0.04 ± 0.02. Manuscript profile
