Applying the interpretive structural approach to design a model for sustainable banking

Abstract :
Achieving the sustainable development goals of banks is vital in advancing their financial development goals. The present study aims to design a model for sustainable banking by applying the interpretive structural modeling approach.The statistical population of the study in the ISM section included the experts of Iran's banking industry. In this regard, 15 people were selected as the sample size using purposeful sampling. In the PLS section, they included the employees of the banking industry, and 60 of them were selected using non-probabilistic and convenience sampling. An interpretive structural modeling questionnaire and a quantitative analysis questionnaire were used to perform the study. Data in the quantitative stage were analyzed using Smart PLS software. Based on the results of PLS structural equation modeling, macro and government factors positively and significantly affect environmental factors, social factors, economic factors, new and green technology, clean energy, human resources, bank customers, and bank management by 0.814, 0.633, 0.867, 0.528, 0.485, 0.321, 0.336, and 0.482, respectively. Also, environmental factors, social factors, economic factors, new and green technology, clean energy, human resources, bank customers, and bank management positively and significantly affect the implications of sustainable banking by 0.775, 0.625, 0.447, 0.826, 0.851, 0.883, 0.637, and 0.61, respectively. The sustainable banking model in this study has 3 levels. Sustainable banking implications at level one were categorized as the most affected component and macro government factors.
