Factors Affecting Quality of Higher Education from the Post Graduate Students' Perspective

Abstract :
Quality in higher education is not a fixed and static point, but it is a dynamic and a strategic goal and an Islamic duty. It is one of the fundamental issues that universities and educational institutions are facing. The purpose of this research is to identify and rank the affecting factors in order to improve the quality of higher education in the branches Islamic Azad University in Mazandaran Province. The method of research was descriptive. The study subjects included all students of Islamic Azad University, Mazandaran Province, in the 88-89 Academic year, that is 4,589 students. The research sample consisted of 357 students. To collect data from the subjects, a researcher-made questionnaire was used. Its validity was approved by teachers and experts, and its reliability index of 0.92 was obtained using Cronbach's alpha formula. For data analysis, SPSS software and statistical methods in descriptive and inferential levels were used. The obtained results showed that the factors of faculy members' methodology, organizing educational content, university facilities, faculty members, status and student' status are effective in improving the quality of higher education, while the last factor, that is, students' status is more effective than the others.
