Student Business School Leadership with an Entrepreneurial Development Approach: In the Classical Grounded Theory Method

Abstract :

The aim of the present study was to present a leadership model for a student business school with an entrepreneurial development approach. The study method was qualitative and based on the classical grounded theory (Glaser). The statistical population of the study included all expert professors in the fields of educational management, business management and entrepreneurship, and curriculum planning in Mashhad in 1402-1403. The purposive and snowball sampling method was continued until the information was sufficient to 21 people based on the entry criteria (faculty member, having at least 2 published articles in the field of entrepreneurship, having more than 10 years of experience, having enough time for an interview, being interested in conducting an interview). In-depth and unstructured interviews were conducted to answer the question: What should the leadership of a student business school with an entrepreneurial development approach be like? was used as a research tool. To ensure the validity and reliability of the extracted data, four strategies of validity, transferability, verifiability, and reliability were used. Data analysis was carried out using open, axial, and selective coding methods, which ultimately resulted in 184 concepts, 33 subcategories, and 10 main categories. In general, the results showed that the student business school leadership model with an entrepreneurial development approach was based on ten dimensions (strategic leadership style, excellence-building leadership, proactive leadership, transformational leadership, technological leadership, delegative leadership, participatory leadership, knowledge management-based leadership, curriculum leadership, and future-oriented leadership).
