Abstract :
The Lymnaedeae snail family, which is classified into the Basomatophora and the Pulmonata suborder, respectively, and is considered one of the most important species. Radicine snails are of considerable medical and veterinary importance as vectors of trematodes. These snails are classified as amphibians and can live in shallow water for several hours. These snails are responsible for the transmission of common trematodes between humans and livestock, including Schistosoma turkestanicum and Fasciola gigantica in Iran, and are considered an important intermediate host. However, the actual taxonomic status of the snail remains controversial. Morphological characteristics have played a major role in determining this group, but this method has still led to the misidentification of species, affecting the understanding of population biology and ultimately affecting the identification of vectors. Therefore, in this study, in addition to investigating the contamination of strains, considering species and sampling location, DNA barcoding using cox1 and phylogenetic analysis has been investigated as an identification method.
