Abstract :
Crack is a processed solid form of cocaine that has a stronger addictive effect than powder cocaine. Abuse of psychostimulants, including crack cocaine, has adverse effects on memory and learning. In recent decades, the use of various drugs has caused many problems for countries, especially the Third World and Iran. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of crack consumption for one month to examine its effect on the antioxidant system in rats.Drugs, especially crack, can increase the production of oxidants in the body, causing problems for the antioxidant system and reducing their activity, which can lead to premature aging, liver, heart, kidney, and skin diseases, which require further investigation. The activities of CAT, SOD, GPX, and MDA enzymes were measured using commercial Randox kits. The results showed that the amount of antioxidants decreased significantly (P < 0.05) compared to the control group at 1 week, 2 weeks, and 1 month after injection. crack
