The Relationship between Information Literacy and Organizational Commitment of Martyr Foundation Staff

Abstract :
Today, in information societies, information literacy skills are a prerequisite for survival in organizations. Which, as a core factor, is able to improve organizational attitudes among employees. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between information literacy and organizational commitment of martyr foundation staff of mazandaran. The research applied in terms of purpose and method was descriptive, correlational one. The statistical population consisted of all staff members of martyr foundation staff mazandaran 1395(N= 392). The statistical sample was 196 participants that determined by the Krejci and Morgan formula and selected by stratified random sampling according to gender. Data were gathered by using two standard questionnaires: organizational commitment and information literacy questionnaires. The content and face validity of the instruments was confirmed by experts. Their reliability was calculated to 0.88 and 0.87 respectively by the use of Cronbach Alpha. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics including Pearson correlation coefficient and T test were used to analyze the data. The results indicated that there is a positive and significant correlation between information literacy and organizational commitment. There is a positive and significant relationship between information literacy and organizational commitment dimensions including commitment (normative, continuous, and emotional). Also, information literacy and organizational commitment of employees are more than average. There is a significant difference between information literacy and organizational commitment in male and female employees.
