    One aspect of human relationships is the interaction among individuals; it is in fact realized in different ways. The complex form of human interaction has been accompanied by the introduction of communication tools in recent decades. The experience and use of various media by individuals also influence their perceptions, emotions, and behaviors. Given the ever-growing significance of psychology and the role of mass media and new communication technologies in human life, psychological studies in the realm of mass media and communications can aid in understanding and analyzing the effects of media, social interactions, and communications.

    Besides, thanks to recent achievements in psychology and communication research, it is possible to find suitable solutions and strategies for producing and conveying concepts and meanings through new communication technologies and media. Thus, mastery over the psychological aspects of communications can be effective in various areas such as the production, transmission, and reception of mass media content, social interactions, the application of psychological tests, negotiation techniques in international settings, understanding the personalities of indivduals, and gaining insights into culture, family, and crime in society from a psychological perspective. 

    Here, the term "psychology" refers to the disciplines focused on discovering and understanding the psychological capabilities of humans in perceiving and interacting with the natural and human environment. This includes fields such as cognitive psychology, behavioral psychology, learning, social interactions, art, the application of psychological tests, and social cognition

    The term "communications" encompasses all mass media, educational media, artificial intelligence, new communication technologies, and social interactions that are involved in the production, transmission, and reception of content and messages. This includes newspapers, radio, television, cinema, the internet, literature, art, culture, and even smartphones. This field not only addresses the individual human and their relationship with mass media or media content but also studies various types of media. It also pays attention to the critical analysis of technological advancements and their effects on people's lives, meaning that communication psychology has become a vital area for research today, drawing from disciplines such as sociology, media studies, and anthropology.

    CPQ as a bilingual journal in Persian and English is committed to publishing high-quality original articles that cover a wide range of research in communication psychology, and the submitted works must significantly enhance the state of psychology and communications.
