What relates dreams to literature is symbolic and portrayal language in a dream again these factors have beem used in interpreting dreams by Jung's analytic-psychologic method. One of the common acpects between literature and psychology is dreams and dream interpretation and the most important equality thing of them is their symbolic language. In the numerous literary and historical works of different nations, there are dreams which have been interpreted by the dream interpreters and have occurred. Shahnameh, as a work, is not empty of this issue, and dream interpretation is one of the repetitive cases in it. These dreams sometimes occur exactly as what the viewer has dreamed, and sometimes are entirely symbolic. In this essay, the interpretation of Jarireh's dream in Shahnameh has been studied from two aspects of traditional interpreting dream and Jung's individual and collective unconscious, and has been compared with the meaning of the story. As a result, in this dream, the symbols have been completely explained and stayed together which in both approaches, the phrase of traditional and psychological exploration lead to an acceptable answer and according to natural process of the story of Shahnameh.
