Providing Identification of Dimensions, Components and Indicators of Professional Competency Model Promotion

Abstract :
This study was designed and developed to provide a model for enhancing the professional competence of faculty members of Islamic Azad University of Science and Research of Tehran. The importance of the issue is due to the weakness in the professional characteristics of its members and other universities as reported by previous research. The statistical population includes all the faculty members of the Azad University of Science and Research Branch; this university was chosen to extend its criteria to other units if the features were identified. Due to the relative novelty of the subject, the researcher used a qualitative method. In this way, using Delphi technique, the indicators of professional competency model of the faculty were designed. The sample consisted of 10 faculty members who were randomly selected. The results showed that the designed model can be used in Islamic Azad University; this model was tested for use elsewhere by statistical indices and the findings confirmed the model.
