Abstract :
Many factors are involved in the success of education, and among them, the role of teachers is considered as its main foundation and one of the most effective factors. Based on this, this research was carried out with the aim of designing the professional development framework of physical education student teachers of Farhangian University with a combined approach (a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods). In the qualitative part of the research, the conceptual model of the research was designed by asking the opinions of 15 experts consisting of faculty members and veteran teachers of teacher training at the headquarters level of the Ministry of Education and Farhangian University and through a redesigned questionnaire. In the quantitative research phase, the model designed with the structural equation modeling approach (partial least squares-PLS) has been tested through a statistical sample consisting of 208 student-teachers. In the quantitative part, the analysis of information has been carried out in two parts of the measurement model and the structural model. In this regard, the technical characteristics of the questionnaire, including reliability, convergent validity and divergent validity, were examined and the necessary corrections were made. In the structural part, the structural coefficients of the model were evaluated to check the research hypotheses. The results obtained from the qualitative part, using open, central, and selective coding, include 103 sub-themes and 23 main themes, and in the quantitative part, it is indicative of the professional development framework of the student physical education teachers of Farhangian University. Based on the obtained results, the factors affecting the professional development of student teachers in the form of causal, contextual, intervening factors and consequences are presented in the form of a general picture of a proposed model to provide a broader view for policy makers in this field.
