The products were obtained by a four-component condensation reaction between phthalimide, hydrazine monohydrate, aromatic aldehyde derivatives and malononitrile in the presence of a catalytic amount of copper (II) oxide (CuO) under solvent-free conditions in high yields. A sulfonated reduced graphene oxide (RGO-SO3H) nanocatalyst was used to promote the reaction under solvent-free conditions. A range of trisphenol compounds were produced in the presence of this catalyst system in good to excellent yields. In the presence of this catalyst system, a less amount of phenol is required, which improves the environment through its capability in synthesis of trisphenols. The results indicated that this heterogeneous catalyst was an excellent and reusable system to synthesize of 14H-dibenzo[a.j]xanthene derivatives through a one-pot condensation of β-naphthol and arylaldehydes at 90 °C under solvent-free conditions. Due to the magnetic nature of the catalyst, it could be easily recovered by an external magnetic field and comfortable reused at least five times without loss of its catalytic activity. Stannous chloride was proved to be an efficient heterogeneous Lewis acid catalyst, which could be relatively non-toxic, inexpensive, possess good thermal stability and easy to handle. In both synthetic protocol, due to the dual functionality of lanthanum (III) oxide (i.e. having basic and acidic Lewis sites), it was very useful and general, and plausible mechanisms were presented in support of this generality and high capability. The current protocol featured environmentally friendly conditions, the ability to recycle and reuse the heterogeneous catalyst up to 6 times, providing products in short times with high yields, easy work-up and no need for difficult steps of catalyst synthesis by using a commercially available catalyst, which makes it an appealing route for the preparation of these derivatives. پرونده مقاله -

The study tried to answer the question whether this reaction can be performed without solvent and with new catalyst or not. To find answer to the question, we described a novel protocol for the efficient synthesis of 3, 4-dihydropyrimidin-2-(1H)-one derivatives using aromatic aldehyde, ethylacetoacetate, and urea/thiourea under solvent-free conditions by using SiO2-CaCl2as acatalyst. Using this catalyst has some advantages; it's high yields, usable in mild conditions, available, reusable, ecofriendly, cost effective and environmentally friendly. The structural features of the synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR. The compounds were screened for antimicrobial activity. The results showed these compounds react against all the tested bacteria. The prepared material, denoted as GO-Imid-H3SiW, was characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis. The activity of this new material as a novel catalyst was also evaluated in the synthesis of 1,8-dioxo-octahydroxanthenes by reaction of dimedone with various aromatic aldehydes under solvent-free conditions. The results demonstrated a significant catalytic performance of the catalyst for this transformation under solvent-free conditions, giving high yields of the desired products over relatively short reaction times. In addition, the catalyst could be easily recovered from the reaction mixture by simple filtration and can be reused many times with no significant loss of its catalytic activity. پرونده مقاله
