        Purpose: This study aims to determine the capabilities of GIS in mapping of library performance indicators at Tehran University of medical sciences and Shahid Beheshti University of medical sciences. Methodology: The descriptive research method was used to carry out this research. All central and college libraries in Tehran university of medical sciences and Shahid Beheshti university of medical sciences were selected in sampling. Selected six performance indicators in this study cover broad categories in the library various fields such as: facilities, staff, collections, and expenditures, that required data for calculating them gathered with questionnaire. Finally the data analysis was conducted using ArcGIS version 9.3. Findings: ArcGIS  software has capability of displaying performance indicators in the format clear images to conduct suitable analysis, in other words displaying  these indicators in the form of graphs and tables not only makes analyzing difficult but also it is lacks the precision and generalization. Conclusion: The maps applied for performance indicator analysis with GIS, like a road map to guide people according to their needs and respond to various questions, so they can extract much analysis from these maps; in addition, data analysis is just one of the GIS capabilities among the numerous capabilities Manuscript profile

        Purpose: The aim of this research is proposing the model of relationship between social capital and tacit knowledge sharing and knowledge used in public libraries of West Azerbaijan which covered by national public library institution using Structural equation modeling approach. Methodology: The research is a survey and basically scrutinizing the correlation of the research factors. The statistical population of this research is all of the staffs (except workers) who employed in public libraries that covered by national public library institution in west Azerbaijan. In this research, based on knowledge management process, the tacit knowledge sharing, knowledge using and knowledge organizing factors were selected to study. In this study, various methods were used for data analysis. Findings: The favorable status of social capital, tacit knowledge sharing, knowledge using, and knowledge organizing in public libraries of west Azerbaijan is more than middle and there is a significant relation between social capital and tacit knowledge sharing and knowledge using. Conclusion: The outcomes show that social capital is effective in tacit knowledge sharing and knowledge sharing.         Purpose: The present research aims to have a comparative investigation of central library and documentation center of Tehran University users’ amount of usage of sheet list and computer list. Methodology: The present research is a descriptive survey. All users of central library and Documentation Center of Tehran University including students, clerks, and free members are study population. There were 58499 users of which 382 persons were determined using Morgan’s table through simple Random Sampling as sample size. Researcher designed a questionnaire to gather data, its validity has been determined through experts’ views and its reliability through calculation of Cronbach’s Alpha 0.838; it indicates the questionnaire’s proper reliability. Descriptive statistics has been used to categorize data and Inferential statistics to compare findings and hypothesis testing for data analysis. SPSS version 18 and Excel spreadsheet have been analysis tools. Findings: These research findings have shown that central library and documentation center of Tehran University users used sheet list at a very low level (average of 1.77); on the contrary, average of 4.38 has shown that users used computer list to find sources at a very high level. Among elements affecting users’ usage of sheet list, special cases such as power outages and deterioration of electronic systems with average of 2.68 lower than intermediate level, have had the highest influence on users’ usage of sheet list. Conclusion: In contrast, elements such as flexibility of presentation and information screening, elimination and satisfaction of emergent needs and users’ familiarity and skill in using computer have had the highest influence on their usage of computer list. This research’s hypothesis claiming the higher usage of users from computer list of central library and documentation center of Tehran University, in comparison with sheet list, has been confirmed and turned true.         Purpose: The research studies the effect of the emotional intelligent (EQ) and its variables on the performance of Karaj Islamic Azad University staffs. Methodology: present study is an applied one done using survey method. The target group, 700 people, is all the male and female staffs of Karaj Azad University including administrative, technicians and the heads. The data were gathered randomly from 126 participants using questionnaire. Findings: The results indicate that emotional intelligence of employees 5.65 percent of EQ (emotional top), 18.6 percent relative EQ and 15.9 percent have low emotional intelligence. Comparisons between men and women is also observed in the 6.74 % of women, 74.6 of men have a higher emotional intelligence. It was also observed that  emotional intelligence has a significant positive impact on the quality of staff performance. Conclusion: The results of the study which involved 75 females and 51 males show that 6.3% of the staffs have under the average EQ and 73% of the staffs have a sound level of EQ. 20.7% of the staffs have high level of EQ. The comparison between the females and the males show that female staffs have more level of EQ than the males. The result of the correlation study shows that there is a significant relation between the EQ and performance of the staffs. Manuscript profile

        Purpose: Itstudies the use rate of five elements of Caldwell & Spinks strategic management in the libraries of intellectual development center of children and adolescents of Tehran City. Methodology: This is an analytic-survey study. A research-made questionnaire based on five components of the model was developed and distributed to 167 M.S/PhD staff members. Findings: Among five components of Caldwell & Spinks strategic management, considering information exchange and the processes empowering the libraries of intellectual development center of children and adolescents received first and last place respectively. Although, it was supposed to be a difference between administrators’ majors and their opinions about using strategic management elements, the data show that there is no significant difference between the views of administrators majoring in librarianship, non-librarianship, and even management about their approach towards strategic management. Conclusion: Five management components are highly followed in Tehran libraries of intellectual development center of children and adolescents fulfilled between 5.68% and 7.75%. But, to achieve a desirable status and 100% fulfillment, each element particularly empowering ones need to be considered more. Manuscript profile

        Purpose: Small world is on the theories in the field of social network analysis and consists of clusters that are globally connected. This situation in a network leads to a network of appropriate flow of information among network members, which can increase network productivity. On this basis, this paper aims to investigate the situation in the network of top Iranian universities websites. Methodology: The study is in the field of Webometrics with an analysis of the country's top universities web sites network using indicators of network. Top 199 universities of the Iran and SID is Statistical Society. Analysis performed by Webanalyst and Pajek applications. Findings: The highest numbers of incoming links is 45 for university of Tehran and the minimum value is zero. Maximum output links are 147 for Scientific Information Center website. Finally, the small world indicator is equal to 7.685085. Conclusion: Results show that small world network model exists in the network.         Purpose: The present study examine the relationship between Workplace Spirituality and organizational excellence in the National Library and Archives of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Methodology: Analytical survey method, and research population consists of 160 managers and librarians working in national library of Iran. The Questionnaire to measure spirituality in the workplace has been used the Milliman Questionnaire and has been used to determiningthe spirituality in three levels, individual, group and organizational. To set factors of excellence has been used standardized questionnaire that contains nine main criterions: Leadership, People, Policy and Strategy, Partnerships and Resources, Processes, People Results, Customer Results, Society Results and Key Performance Results. The data analysis has been done bySPSS software. Findings: In the case of spirituality at work the highest rate belonged to the “Group Level” with the average 24.04 and the lowest rate also belonged to the “Individual level” with an average of 22.5. Also, the F-test between the two groups in the field of Librarians and Non-librarians shows that there is a difference. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the level of organizational excellence and spirituality in the workplace in the National Library. Manuscript profile

        Purpose: This study examined the relationship between organizational factors and librarians’ productivity of the public libraries in Hamedan province, according to the model of Richard E. Kopelman’s organizational factors. Methodology: This applied research was done using a survey method. Two researcher-made questionnaires ‘organizational factors’ and ‘productivity’ were instrument for gathering data. Statistical population was consisted of all public librarians at Hamedan province to 127 people and ultimately 97 questionnaires were collected. The data analysis took place by means of SPSS16 statistical software at the level of descriptive and inferential statistical (Pearson’s Correlation Test, Analysis of variance test (ANOVA)). Findings: The results showed that there is a significant positive relationship between organizational factors and the productivity of librarians at (P<0/01(, There are no significant differences both between women's and men's librarian of productivity and between Education (Librarianship and non Librarianship) and the productivity of librarians at (P<0/05(, while there is significant difference between the productivity of librarians and degree of education at (P<0/05(. Conclusion: Improving organizational factors increases the productivity of librarians. We need to take an action to strengthen organizational factors in the public libraries in Hamedan province.
