As a dominant tradition in writing, postmodernism was widely embraced during mid and late twentieth century. Many contemporary authors, and in particular some British authors, deemed postmodernism as alien to their own traditional modes of writing. Julian Barnes, the contemporary British author who once hailed postmodernism in his writings critically challenged and opposed it. The present research is an attempt to critically and analytically investigate this shift from his postmodern work Flaubert Parrot, to his more recent neo-realistic work The Only Story through the lens of Jacques Ranciere.  The main hypothesis is that the late Barnes has truly grasped the dynamic of author-subject as indicated in his return to neo-realism from Postmodern grand narrative. To accomplish this goal the researchers have employed some of Ranciere’s concepts including ‘politics of aesthetics,’ ‘regimes of art,’ ‘distribution and redistribution of sensible’ to scrutinize the causes of this shift and his return to more essentialist and humanistic modes of thought and writing Manuscript profile

The narrators of common myths need unknown and strange atmosphere to color their narrations with secrets. This atmosphere can isolate the hero from the real world and joins him to a magical and mythical world which is known as the threshold passage. Undoubtedly one of the best places to include the heroes in unknown issues and topics is the bathroom (Garmabeh). The understanding and analysis of such a secret atmosphere is the basic precondition to reveal the myths and to achieve their hidden messages. One of the very useful tools to reveal such issues in myths is the theory of “a single hero journey” posed by Joseph Campbell. The major goal of the present study is to emphasize on the importance of “Garmabeh” as the threshold passage time. In this research, “Garmabeh” in the story called “the son of the merchant and the city of voiceless people” written by Amir Khosro Dehlavi has been analyzed as the threshold passage. The results showed that Amir Khosro has acted very cleverly and successfully in using the secret atmosphere of Garmabeh as the threshold passage and also the comparison of it with pass rituals and triple sections of the traditional bathrooms. Mohammad Farrokhi Yazdi except from  composition of the political poems and the publication of the critical “storm” newspaper, published the "weekly storm" magazine for two years,  to develop the  literary works, to promote poetry, to develop the Persian language and literature and to generalize the European literary works. In this study, with reviewing the 41 existing numbers of the “weekly storm” with the descriptive, analytical and quantitative assessment method, we introduce and examine the publication motives, formal structure, importance and quality, content, and writers and poets of the magazine. Because of the high position of the authorities, the publication of useful literary, artistic and historical literature, and the quality and diversity of Iranian and worldly literary materials, the literary magazine benefits from the cooperation of popular writers and poets like:  Malek o-Sho''arā Bahār, Abdolhossein Hazhir, Ishmael Yekani, Sayyed Ahmad Kasravi, Sayyed Abdolrahim Khalkhali, Ali Javaherolkalam, and etc among foreigner writers and poets, translations of Tolstoy works and Victor Hugo works had been more commonly used. In the second period of publication, due to the policies of the Reza Shahi period, Toofan adopts a more lenient approach and pays more attention to social, economic and literary issues, while emphasizing the elements of Iranian identity and literary traditions in a balanced way towards modernity. Hence, due to the necessity of modernity and understanding the situation of the time, he uses prose texts and fiction in translations of Western works. Manuscript profile

Ibn al-Hussam's Khavaran‌Name is a epopee that tells imaginary stories of the travels, heroic acts, and battles of Imam Ali (as) against the infidels. It  is often considered as an epic work due to its epic features, although the features of popular literature have become so prevalent that it has largely deviated from the classical Persian epics. This feature shows that Ibn Hussam had a direct connection with the masses. Based on this view, in the present article, an attempt has been made to determine the most important folk elements of this work and how they are used. To achieve this goal, first the mass beliefs and thoughts of the people, and then some folkloric features of the narrative are examined, and finally the use of the slang language in its  vocabulary is studied.  This research shows that the Khavaran‌Name is an artistic phenomenon that has originated from the life of the people and has been mixed with various manifestations of the mass life of the people in different ways. One of the phenomena studied in archeology is the study of historical beliefs and documents about the spells of treasures. The science of spells deals with: how to keep treasures, bury them in the ground to protect them from thieves and enemies, put various spells on them, ways to detect and open spells in Burials place. In his Khamse, Nizami has used these topics in great detail. The need to revise the traditional works of Persian literature from the point of view of archeology and to discover the historical values of a prominent literary work has created the need to explore how to use the themes of spells and treasures in Khamse. This research has been done by using field observations, by conducting interviews with cultural heritage experts and by using descriptive analytical method. The analysis of verses based on the  classification of the imagination in Coleridge's Theory and also two different functions of the image in the literature as the linguistic and the virtual function reveals that in terms of content, spells and treasures have been used in the field of fiction and also pride, allegory, description, lyricism, praise and mysticism. Among these themes, the field of fiction is the most visible due to the use of precise details, and in other areas, it reveals the poet's thematic power. In rhetorical analysis, the study of three different literary structures shows that Nizami has created beautiful literary arrays by discovering the same features between specific concepts and spells and treasures. In the last fifty years, the critical edition of Divan by Froozanfar has been the base for all the literary researches done on Mevlana’s ghazals. However, the textual authenticity of this edition is under question. The method of Professor Forouzanfar's edition and selection Konya 770 manuscript as the basic version has been studied and investigated critically, in this article. There are different points of view about Manuscript of Konya. In this article, the authors have precisely described Manuscript of Konya and have enumerated the criticisms that are available about it. In addition, the authors mention some Ghazals that are not authentic, because these are not mentioned in other authentic manuscripts. These Ghazals have been just written in Konya 770 manuscript, although that was expected other manuscripts that have a majority of ghazals, include these ghazals, too. Among these Ghazals, some of them are not cited be Mevlana, and some of the verses should not regarded as an independent ghazal, because, these verses are in the middle of another ghazals. Studying these Ghazals illuminate that Konya770 (Faz) are not authentic enough to be the basis of Forouzanfar's edition. Shams Langroudi depicts adversity and bitterness in the form of his poems and using the tools and aspects of grotesque for the audience of his works.    Until the publication of "Grotesque in Literature" in 1957 by Wolfgang Kaiser, grotesque was only a violent comedy. But Kaiser and Mikhail Bakhtin introduced other dimensions and aspects of grotesque, such as comedy and horror, disharmony, incoherence, and grotesque exaggeration to literature. In this research, using analytical-descriptive method and using library sources, while examining the grotesque poems of Shams Langroudi, we try to find out which aspect of the grotesque aspects is used in his poems and has more expression? Halliday's orthodoxy approach provides the researcher with a tool through which he or she can grasp the ideology of the text and the ways in which the speaker chooses to convey his or her thought. This approach is the product of a "social look" at language and takes place at the language level with the help of three intellectual, interpersonal, and textual paradigms. The role of thought is divided into two functions: empirical and logical. In the empirical function, the language expresses the experiences of the outside world. The product of this function in the sentence is a transitive that is used to identify different types of processes in the sentence - which is manifested in the verb. One of the main themes of contemporary poetry, especially women's poetry, is attention to social issues and its representation in the language of poetry. A poet who reflects social concepts in his poetry, his goal is to raise artistic and social perception and insight. He wants his poem to have a human message and to acquaint people with the events of his time. The souls of poets of social poetry are born with a sense of social responsibility and the poet lives with the people and among the people. Among contemporary female poets, Forough Farrokhzad is one of the women who reflects social ideas in her poems and by reading her poetry, the audience can become aware of her views on social issues. Among contemporary Tajik women, Golrokhsar Safiyava is also considered a poet with social concerns. This research tries to answer the main question in a descriptive-analytical way: Which language processes did Forough Farrokhzad and Golrokhsar Safiava use to express the views and social concerns of their time? And what is the place of these processes in the transmission of social thought of these two poets? Manuscript profile

In the world of narratology today, Gérard Genette’s narrative typology is among the most annotated schemata and it is widely popular since his narrative theory seems to prevail over a great number of narratives in the whole history of literature, ranging from classic to modernist and postmodernist works. It is as if such works were following a prescribed scheme to expand and develop – which proves the universality of his narrative theory. Throughout this article, Genettian typology is discussed from a partially different perspective in one of the canonical British prose works in The Age of Sensibility. The dominance of Genettian typology in Tom Jones is undeniable as it shall be discussed how; however, a modification and manipulation of one of the anachronies – analepsis – and the introduction of a new type of analepsis – false analepsis – by Henry Fielding employed for the first time in the very period is the major focus of this article. In this study, false analepsis are justified by means of exemplification and multiple references to Tom Jones as the only case study of this article. Moreover, the impact of anachronies on this work is emphasized. Fielding’s work not only employs anachronies, but also introduces a new branch of anachronies, which is the very false analepsis as a form of anachrony.  Manuscript profile
